Roland Is a CEO?

Stirring from his sleep, Roland woke up to the blinds of his top-floor, sky-rise office being opened roughly.

"What are you doing? It's not even 7 a.m. yet!"

His secretary, a worn, middle-aged man, chuckled and reminded Roland, "Sir, you have quite a few troublesome matters to attend to today; get up and deal with them, you can sleep later."

"Barov, that can be dealt with later…"

Before Roland could finish his complaint, Barov's bright eyes started to glare at him, but a smiling facade still remained on the rest of his face. Barov interrupted, "No, you will deal with them now. That young lady deserves a prompt decision and not a drawn out bureaucratic mess. Then you have the new software launch to prepare for. You really are horrifically busy."

With that, Barov left the room, slamming the door shut on the way out.

'Dear lord, he didn't need to be so loud; I've only just woken up! I wonder what's gotten into him…

'Oh well, I'm awake now; I might as well get up.'

Thinking such, Roland swiveled his body round on the couch and sat up, rubbing his eyes.

Barov had left several binders on his desk. Slowly standing up, Roland stretched with a loud groan.

"I truly have left some of this stuff for too long," he mumbled to himself.

Roland really didn't want to deal with the first item on his agenda, but it truly couldn't be left any longer.

Seeing Roland stride out of his office, Barov rushed to catch up. Roland was rather tall, over 6 ft, and Barov's own short legs didn't help. He caught up at the elevator, sweating quite a lot more than he should've been.

"Sir, are you going to deal with her right now?"

"Yes." A blunt, cold reply.

"Ah, that's good! I was worried you'd keep putting it off," responded Barov.

'I wish I could…'

Truthfully, Roland had been crushing on this employee pretty hard, but as the big boss of the company, he couldn't make a move.

'Ahhh, I really did like her, it's a shame that…'

Ding!

The elevator reached their floor and opened up. As they both stepped in, Barov pressed the button for the sixth floor.

As the elevator descended, Barov briefed Roland on the case, not knowing he'd spent the past couple of hours reviewing her files, trying to figure out what had really happened.

"Remember, this is only her first year here and she came straight from an internship at Rivalsoft; it's not unlikely that she really has been committing corporate espionage."

Roland knew this, but he didn't want to believe it.

As an accountant, she really shouldn't have been in the server room.

'But there must be another explanation!'

With a grave expression on his face, Roland stormed out of the elevator, leaving Barov in the dust.

Striding through the maze of corridors, he arrived at a dark room and entered unhesitatingly.

"Well then, Anna, how shall we deal with you?"
