Anna and Barov were busier than usual as they scribbled furiously at their desks. That afternoon, a board meeting would be held ahead of the new project launch, so Roland had assigned them a lot of tasks they needed to complete before then. It didn't help that the accounting department had recently lost some staff, so some of their work was also being taken care of by the duo.
"Surprisingly, the whole board is showing up today. There are a few members whom we don't usually get to see."
As they were going about their tasks, Barov tried to familiarize Anna with the details of the upcoming meeting, knowing that she'd never attended a conference this important before.
"Really? I thought that all board members have to attend."
"Some do, but not all of them. In fact, only the members on the board for possessing a large portion of our company's shares are allowed to miss the meeting. The other members of the board are employees and must attend."
Barov then proceeded to explain the meeting's agenda and items from previous meetings that were being carried over to that afternoon's meeting.

Roland sat in his office going over the files, reviewing every fact, statement, and statistic he would need in that meeting.
'The numbers all add up. The system works excellently. The security should now be perfect; I've corrected its flaws personally.
'Nightingale's interference may have been a blessing in disguise; since the flaws in our software have been made clear, our system is now more robust than ever before.
'It's almost certainly the safest system on the market now.
'I still wonder though… why would Nightingale want Anna fired?'
Roland glanced outside his office and his eyes caught sight of a certain young woman. He stared at her long, flaxen hair and pretty features. When he eventually snapped out of his reverie, he thought, 'The thing I'm most concerned about is that she might get the wrong idea about Roni. We've known each other for a long time—she's like a sister to me—so I hope Anna doesn't think we're too familiar with each other.
'Geez, if Roni wasn't so beautiful as well, I wouldn't need to be this concerned.'
Shuffling through the papers again, he shook the useless thoughts out of his head and knuckled down.
…
Sitting at her desk with her blonde hair cascading down her back like a waterfall, 'Roni' was applying the finishing touches of her make-up. A youthful face stared back at her in the mirror with a wicked grin as she stood up.
Her elegant, white dress accentuated her incredible figure, and with suitable heels, her slender legs were an eye-catcher.
She called out to her driver, "Bring the car around to the front, we're going into the city today."
"Right away, Miss. Gilen," the driver said enthusiastically. It had been quite some time since Miss. Gilen had left the estate; they didn't think it was good for her to spend all her time on that computer.
