As it neared 5 p.m. fewer and fewer people remained in the board room. The meeting had finished much earlier, and those who'd remained had been those with questions about something.

Eventually, only Roland, Anna, Barov, and Veronica were left in the room.

Veronica soon appeared at Roland's side.

"Roland, we should get dinner and catch up," she said with the brightest smile.

"I would love to, but I can't now; I still have some matters to deal with."

Veronica playfully pouted and muttered, "You never make time for me."

Roland chuckled. "Fine, Barov, am I free this Saturday for dinner?"

"Just one second, sir… Yes, your schedule is empty after 7 p.m."

"Great, it's a date then."

Anna felt a shock run through her body. She'd only just admitted to herself that she liked him, how could something like this happen now?

Veronica then blushed slightly.

"A date?" she teased.

"Ha ha ha. You know what I mean," Roland replied, laughing.

Anna relaxed hearing that, and a sigh of relief slipped out.

As Veronica left the room, her driver hurriedly stood up to escort her.

"Was it a productive meeting, Madam?"

"Of course, I wouldn't leave the house for something useless."

"As to be expected of you, ma'am." But the driver thought to himself, 'It's not about leaving the house for something useful… Only staying in that one room of the house and never leaving is unhealthy! I wish you would leave for some useless things!'

"Oh, by the way, I shall be needing your services again over the weekend."

The driver gasped. "You'll be leaving the house again? You'll be leaving the house for the second time in a week? What on Earth for?"

Veronica smiled sweetly and spoke in a hushed voice.

"I have a date," she said with evident glee.

"Fear not, ma'am," the driver said, "I shall inform all the staff. Nothing will go amiss. Everything will be perfect."

The usually lethargic driver seemed to have turned into a great general. He was a man on a mission and nothing would get in his way!

After everyone had finally left, Roland sat back in his office chair with a content smile on his face. The day had been a roaring success. The board members were all pleased with the direction in which he was leading the company, the new product and its marketing plan had the board's seal of approval, and Anna and Veronica seemed to have gotten along well.

'Yes, it's been a great success,' thought Roland as he leaned back in his chair with feet on his desk and started to doze off.

When he woke up the next morning, unbeknownst to him, someone had silently placed his jacket over him so that he wouldn't catch a chill while he slept. A smile surfaced on Roland's face; it was nice to wake up to such a thoughtful gesture.

Barov soon walked in with a bundle of papers and a shy smile.

"Did you sleep well, sir?"
