Destiny

"Xing Huang, I don't know why you have to be so secretive. If everyone knew who you really are and the assets that you own, things wouldn't be like this." Meili pretended to be annoyed.

Of course he wanted to brag to the world and show off his strength, but he knew that there was much more at hand than the fulfillment of a moment. Ever since that dream, things can be said to have been amazing for Xing Huang.

His successful business is already something that many would see as unfathomable. For such a young kid to have such a successful business, was not normal. Many would even think that some sort of divine power was at hand.

For Xing Huang, not only was he able to successful cater to the mouths and stomach of the people, he cultivation talent was not sub-par either. For those at the same age, many were around the 5th or 6th level of the Primer Stage. Some lucky ones who had access to cultivation resources and had guidance were at the 7th level of the Primer Stage. Yet, for a fifteen year old to be at the peak of the 9th level of the Primer Stage was almost heaven defying. Such heaven defying talent has not been seen ever since the Heart Sage created the mysterious Qilin faction.

One had to keep in mind that the each cultivation level only had 10 levels, and for a mere fifteen year old to be so near to break through to become an Element Warrior, was shocking. Even the Heart Sage, before breaking through from Qi Master to Sky Sage, was already eighty-seven years old! Of course, it was also then that she changed her title to Heart Sage.

"You know that I don't want to draw attention to myself. I'm fine as long as I know that I have you besides me." Xing Huang answered.

"Hmph, such a sweet mouth. I don't know where you picked that up from. How do I know you aren't holding a mistress somewhere and hiding her away from me?" Meili jokingly said as she blushed.

Since young, the two have been together, so there was no secret between the two. Of course, there was just that one thing that couldn't be told to Meili, but that was just that he had this weird dream about the creation of the continent and the great war. How he was in a huge palace, surrounded by huge golden statues. Where he also heard he was some sort of divine savior or messenger. One could say that it is understandable that he wouldn't want to tell his love that he might be crazy in the head.

"Jokes aside, how have you been doing with your cultivation? You have been stuck at the peak of the 5th stage for quite some time now. Do you need some star essence stones?"

"No, it is okay I feel like I will breakthrough soon. Don't go comparing everyone else to yourself, not everyone is a monster like you. You're almost at the 10th level of the Primer Stage. Speaking of such, you know that the Star Competition is coming soon, and this will determine if we will be able to enter the Star Chamber."

The Star Chamber opened once a year. It acted as a holy ground for cultivation, as well as an acceptance and recruiting trial. The Star Chamber was an Astral grade spirit tool that was left behind by the 12 guardians. Inside the outer chamber were the essence pools that were filled with star essence for the accepted students to cultivate in. That in itself was the primary test, to see how latent one's talent was. The more one could absorb, the better one's talent was. And of course, it was also an invaluable opportunity to improve one's cultivation.

In the inner chamber was where the true trial began, the smelting trial. For those who wished to proceed into the core chamber, one must gain acceptance by one of the twelve guardians. In the inner chamber were 12 stone pillars in the shape of each respective guardian. In the middle of the 12 is a raised platform, one simply had to place one's hands onto the astral plate and if accepted one of the twelve would descend.

Each of the 12 statues have been imbued with a spiritual imprint that was automatically replenished by the guardians when deplenished. Of course, the 12 never awoke from their slumber, but they were able to send wisps of spiritual qi into their respective statues. There have only been a few instances where one was accepted by multiple guardians, and were able to shoot to the very top.

That then leads us to the core chamber, the star trial. To be able to join as an inner member of the three factions, one had to be able to connect to a star. There were three layers, of stars one could connect to, entry, paragon, and deity. Of course, there was also the fourth layer, but it has only been heard of in old books; the Luminous layer. Those who are able to create and establish a connection with a star are invited to join as an inner member of one of the two factions. Those who failed were given an opportunity to join as entry level members to the two factions. Of course, it has been known that the mysterious qilin faction has their own methods of recruitment and they have seldom sent an envoy to oversee the Star Chambers.

One can see how important being able to enter into the Star Chamber was. For those who were from the bottom of the food chain, once accepted, they would be given an opportunity to start anew. The chambers only allowed for 100 chosen candidates enter, besides those who had the medallion of an overseer or protector, none were allowed to enter. But out of the hundreds of students, even thousands of students, that number amounted to nothing. It wasn't just the number of spots that were few in number, one also had to be of the right age.

Only those who were at the age of 15-18 were allowed to participate in the competition. The fight for a one of the 50 spots has always been harsh. Thus, it could be seen how much one had to prepare for the upcoming event.

"Don't worry, it will be okay. It should be okay, as long as nothing unexpected occurs, I should be able to obtain a spot." Xing Huang said.

"I'm not too worried about you, you will do fine. If there was anyone our age that could even hold a candle to you, I would be surprised. I am more worried about myself, there's so much competition. Plus, many spots are already technically taken by the young masters and madams of the four houses."

Xing Huang knew that Meili wasn't talking about him, but rather the other arrogant and noble born children of the four houses. As the two conversed, the waitress who spoke to them when they entered suddenly rushed into the room. It appears that something had occurred outside.

With his brows raised, Xing Huang asked, "What's wrong Xing Shan, why are you so restless? You should know better than to barge in without knocking."

Of course, she knew. Ever since she was picked up and trained by the young master, the one thing he stressed to all his subordinates, was to never enter any room he was in without permission.

"Pardon my offense young master, there has been an accident downstairs. Young master Feng Jiao has been trying to hit on one of our waitress, but as you know, we don't condone such actions. So, he was told to stop or he would be asked to leave. But he took that as disrespect and told his gang of goons to strip Han'er as punishment. Please help young master, she is still so young."

"Very well, circumstances called for this, but after this is settled, make sure to bolster out security. Now, lead me to this idiot."

As they were heading downstairs, Xing Huang could hear the cries of Han'er and the laughter of those idiot buffoons. He just hoped that those idiots didn't do something that would cause him to truly take action. Hopefully that lustful Feng Jiao still had a bit of humanity and knew when to stop.

"What the hell is going on here? Let her go now, do not make me take action." Xing Huang roared.

"Hmph, you? With what army? Who do you think you are Xing Huang, let's not even speak of how useless you are, what position are you in to think you can tell me what to do? Even if I raped her and killed her, no one here would be even to say a word." Not even putting XIng Huang in his eyes, Feng Jiao sneered.

"Yeah, who do you think you, just piece of tr…"

Before Feng Jiao's goons were even able to finish what they had to say, they simply saws quick flashes and then found themselves flying at the wall. Blood spilled out of their mouths as they all fainted. After taking care of the little minions, Xing Huang coldly glared at Feng Jiao.

"I...You...Let's forget this, okay, Xing Huang? It was just a spur of the moment, I didn't even touch her, it was all those idiots that did everything. I'm innocent, let's forget this ever happened, okay?" Feng Jiao fearfully stammered.

"I will say this once and you can either choose to compel or be taken to jail. You will firstly never speak of this to anyone, I do not wish for others to look at me in some weird light. Second, you will never step foot into my restaurant again. If you do, I can assure that you won't need to worry about getting tan or stepping on gum again. And just in case you change your mind and start blabbing, this room has a crystal recorder, so all video footage is saved to the cloud and with a press of a button, it will be sent to the Justicar."

"Yes, of course, I am not stupid enough to do such a thing. Thank you XIng Huang." Feng Jiao hurriedly spoke as he rushed out of the room. Even if he wanted to take revenge, he wouldn't be stupid enough to even do such a thing. Though they both belonged to the main house of the four great families, their influence was like heaven and earth. Also, seeing how strong Xing Huang was, he knows that this person was no longer someone he could mess with. At least, if he wanted peace and quiet.

He couldn't believe that the quiet and lazybum of the class was actually so good at hiding his strength. At least he found out earlier on, else if he had continued to provoke him, who knows had already what would have happened.

"Okay, everything is okay now. Xing Shan, bring some clothes here for Xing Han to change into, then bring her back to calm down. Get some people to clean up the mess and here. Also, wake up those bastards and make sure they leave, and remind them to not say a word. Just in case they argue back, give them some "incentives" to not be chatty about what happened. After we close, call everyone to my courtyard, I have something to announce. Ah, and do send the food up, Meili is getting hungry." Xing Huang spoke as he headed back up stairs to Meili.

"Yes, young master."

As he returned to the private dining room, the food had already been laid out on the table. Of course, Meili had already begun to invite herself to the dished before her.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, everything is fine. Though I had to step in. But it shouldn't be a big deal as I doubt Feng Jiao is stupid enough to even try to settle any scores with me now. I just hope their mouths aren't loose."
