Red Skeleton Gang

"So, is this a lot or not?" Fu Tao asked while shook a small pouch made from the animal's skin in front of Mingyue. It was crudely made and had a smelly, thus Mingyue and Liao Yun were not willing to hold it.

'Smelly thing is suitable for this smelly guy.' was what Liao Yun said to Mingyue.

"Don't ask me. But no matter what, we will finish all of this in a few days at most." Mingyue was surprised because the Mercenary Guild of the Grey Brick City was kind enough to round up the number of the payment. Seven gold coins.

But unknown to Mingyue, the Mercenary Guild made a big killing by paying a small sum of gold coins. If it was in any other place, a high-quality Iron-Skinned Rhinoceros's hide was priced at least 40 gold coins, it was not included in other material like bones and horn.

Even though Iron-Skinned Rhinoceros was only a low-tier Fierce Beast, the difficulty to deal a killing blow was very high while dealing a killing blow without destroying its hide was almost impossible.

After receiving the payment from Mercenary Guild, Mingyue led the pair of country-bumpkin to get some daily necessity. But since it was the first time she was shopping, she didn't know where to start. In the end, she prioritized the gear for both Liao Yun and Fu Tao.

"Hey, do we really need to spend those things? We can just leave it all to Tofu." Liao Yun was annoyed since she didn't understand any of Mingyue's plan.

"Sigh. Let's change our clothes, while both of you will get your own gear."

"I don't need it. My wrist guards are still in a good condition." Liao Yun shook her head, but Fu Tao was clearly interested in the gear that Mingyue mentioned.

"Is it something similar to that?" Fu Tao pointed at the heavy armoured man at the side of the road. All of his body was covered from head to toe, except his eyes.

Mingyue's mouth twitched as she felt uncomfortable from seeing the heavy-armoured man.

"No. don't you dare to pick something like that, big brother smelly." Mingyue knitted her eyebrow and pouted toward Fu Tao. "Moreover, this amount of cash isn't anywhere close to get you that kind of things. Forget it."

Mingyu picked up her companion's pace as she could feel a bunch of people that were following her. Not only from one direction, they were almost being surrounded. It was clear their stalkers were familiar with the neighbourhood.

"Do you want to rid of them?" Xiao Jing's voice resounded while Mingyue was keeping each of the sources of the hostile people.

"Nope, just let them. Letting both of them fall into trouble is the fastest way to make them mature. Moreover, they are only a small-fry, so both of them should be able to handle them perfectly." An evil smirk appeared on Mingyue's face, but it was hidden in a blink of an eye.

". . . Fine."

"AAARGH!" A bald man with skinny body bumped into Fu Tao until he fell down. He screamed and rolling around as if he was being hurt by something. It was a hilarious scene akin to a monkey jumping around the street, but Mingyue just kept her silence as she watched the show in front of her. Even if the bald man's acting was bad, he was fine with it.

The bald man immediately hugged his hand as if it was really broken. He was helped to stand by another three persons, and then all four of them glared at Fu Tao.

"Damn! Look at my big brother! His ribs broke!" One of the henchmen immediately pointed his index finger at Fu Tao and the other henchmen chimed in.

"Do you want to kill him??"

"Hey! Don't you dare to run away! Do you think that we will let you run away!"

Each of them wore a wicked and thirsty expression while looking at Fu Tao. But one of them was looking at Mingyue with hurried breaths and intoxicated expression. Mingyue was surprised since she never had this kind of experience.

[. . . Seriously?] Mingyue was disgusted, but she chose to not make her move and leave it all to Liao Yun and Fu Tao.

Mingyue went closer to Liao Yun as she hid her tiny body behind Liao Yun. She grabbed the hem of Liao Yun's tiger-pattern outfit, not willing to let it go.

Seeing Fu Tao and Liao Yun only stood there with a dumbfounded expression, the bunch of thug's courage grew as they accused Liao Yun and Fu Tao with so many random accusations. And thanks to that, many people on the surroundings gathered.

Since they were in the middle of the little plaza, of course, there were a lot of people in the surroundings, included peddler and some townspeople.

"Ah, another extortion. . . "

"Crap, what kind of idiot that flaunt their wealth? Being aimed by the Red Skeleton gang is their own bad luck."

"Hahaha, another good show here!"

"Sigh. A usual show by the Red Skeleton Gang. Just count it as a bad luck."

[Looks like it was a planned action.] Mingyue looked at her surroundings and she found some people with hostile intent in the middle of the crowd. All of them were clearly a mercenary and possibly they were all aiming for the gold pouch at Fu Tao's hand. Since she wouldn't do anything, she made sure to remember each of the hostile people in case they were trying to do something.

"No matter what you say, he is clearly healthy and far from death." Fu Tao didn't understand what happened before him, but Liao Yun was clearly pissed off.

The bald man that fell down earlier immediately unsheathed his weapon, and followed by his henchmen. "DAMN! Better you pay up! My wound is definitely life-threatening! I don't think a few gold coins wouldn't suffice!"

"No, I don't think a few will suffice. If necessary, you can sell someone to pay your debt." The man with intoxicated expression stated his desire while shooting his burning gaze toward Mingyue who was hiding behind Liao Yun. He licked his lips as he giggled.

Even his fellow-in-crime was disgusted when they realized his aim, but they didn't say anything.

Even Mingyue herself didn't understand what happened.

The spectator around them immediately moved back to avoid any stray attack. Everyone here knew that selling someone as a slave was legal in the whole Earth Kingdom, even if the person in question wasn't willing. But for the people that had gone to another town or city, they would get used to seeing someone sold as slaves all of sudden.

And because of that, extortion was not something weird for the people in the surroundings. They even thought that it was better for them to be extorted rather than sold as a slave. The fate of a slave was the same for all slaves.

Death.

And these mercenaries merely tried to extort someone for quick cash and it was considered peaceful. And even if they were reported to Mercenary Guild, a mere local Mercenary Guild like the one in Grey Brick Town wouldn't really do anything to them. Thus, anyone got extorted in this town was no one's fault other than the extorted one.

But what surprised them was someone from Red Skeleton gang was planning to sell a little girl as a slave!

There were two criteria to consider the price of a slave. Capability and beauty. And clearly, the little girl over there was considered as a beauty, of course for those with a weird fetish.

But unfortunately for the Red Skeleton gang, the one that they had to offend was a violent woman beside Mingyue.

Not waiting for the Red Skeleton gang to open their mouth again, Liao Yun immediately used her Battle Technique, an illusion of summoned bear appeared in a blink of an eye and Liao Yun punched the man with lewd expression.

"PA!"

Her punch was fast and strong, and straight to the lewd man's stomach until he was thrown to the walls behind him.

"BAAAAM. . . ." A loud voice surprised all the people at the surroundings. The cloud of dust disappeared slowly as the people on the surroundings could see clearly what behind the cloud of dust.

"DAMN YOU SMALL FRY! YOU DARE TO ROB YOUR GRANDDADDY !!! COME AND I WILL SHOW YOU WHY BLOOD IS RED!" Liao Yun crackled his fist and prepared to punch another thug.

The lewd man was stuck under the wall and couldn't move from there. Don't think about moving, the lewd man himself lost his consciousness in one clean hit.

Even if the lewd man was only a 1-star mercenary, he was definitely an experienced and seasoned mercenary. His combat strength was well-known in the Red Skeleton gang, only a little weaker than the gang leader – the bald man which was pretending to be wounded.

The other gang members of the Red Skeleton gang were all terrified and they lost strength in their leg. One by one, the gang member fell on their butt and trembled as they saw the murderous intent in the tanned girl's eyes.

The people on the surroundings were looking at the mighty tiger-strip woman in front of them. They never expected that a young woman like her was stronger than a 1-star mercenary! Stronger than the notorious Red Skeleton gang!

Even though a 1-star mercenary was not rare in the Grey Brick Town, there were no any 2-star mercenaries in the town. And that was one of the reasons why the Red Skeleton gang could go rampant in the Grey Brick Town. You either didn't care about one or two little small-fry running rampant, or you are too weak to protect yourself.

Obviously, most of the townspeople were the latter, while the strong woman in front of them was the former.

"Damn! So Strong!"

"Ah, unexpectedly the Red Skeleton gang kicked an iron-board!"

"Hahaha, eat that shit!"

". . . Am I the weird one or she is a goddess?"

"Oh, spirit! How can a lean hand of a lean woman is able to do something like that? It is not a dream, right?"

The Punisher, the name of Liao Yun's pair of wrist guard. it was a lame name, but it was much better than the Pummeler.

Of course, the name was given by Liao Yun herself. It was a pair of wrist guard which was made from a various Fierce Beast's bones and skeletons, and the final product was layered with the sap from Crystal-Leaf Tree.

The Crystal-Leaf Tree was the sacred tree of the Wind Chasing Tribe. It was not to the extent that it was as sacred as the three totems, but the Crystal-Leaf Tree was ranked below the three totems.

The sap of the Crystal-Leaf Tree had a miraculous effect of hardening any material that was layered with the sap. Of course, the preparation for the layering step was an arduous job because the sap itself contained a deadly toxin. Even Liao An, Liao Yun's father had gathered another three warriors to finish the layering step for Liao Yun's wrist guards, the Punisher.

When Liao Yun didn't use her Battle Technique, the wrist guards were no different from a normal fabric. Thin and flexible. Even if she was a violent girl, her hand was slender like any other woman at her age.

But it was different when Liao Yun used her Battle Technique. The wrist guards would be even harder than the Iron-Skinned Rhinoceros's hide. At least, the wrist guards were capable to contend with a middle-tier Fierce Beast.

When everybody was waiting for the continuation of the fight, Liao Yun did the opposite. She turned around and looked at Mingyue with some accusing look.

'Why didn't you take care of that pervert!' was the message behind her look.

Liao Yun clearly understood the capability of Mingyue. Even though Mingyue had an appearance of a weak and fragile little girl, she was strong. Taking care one or two thugs were not hard at all. But at the present time, Mingyue didn't lift her finger and only hid behind her.

Rather than answering, Mingyue just walked closer to Liao Yun and grabbed the hem of her animal skin again. With a terrified face, Mingyue hid behind Liao Yun, lowered her head, and hugged Liao Yun's body tightly.

Even though Liao Yun knew that Mingyue was definitely not scared, her heart was softened at the sight of a frightened little animal in front of her. She never took Mingyue as a girl of the same age, but more like a little sister – a little girl that needed someone to take care of herself. There was no one to blame since Mingyue always attracted trouble anywhere she went. It was especially true after four years Liao Yun stayed together most of the time.

Seeing the trembling Mingyue, the anger inside Liao Yun's heart was re-ignited. She turned her head and was ready for another round, but unfortunately, the Red Skeleton gang already left. They moved very fast and even Liao Yun didn't realize it at all. And of course, they left the lewd man behind.

Losing the target to vent her anger, Liao Yun finally gave up and released her Battle Technique. Her gauntlet, the Punisher returned to the small size.

And since no one dared to offend Liao Yun, the people dispersed and pretended to not know anything about the earlier event.

Nobody wished to offend the Red Skeleton gang.

Those people knew that even if the Red Skeleton gang was defeated today, it didn't mean that the Red Skeleton gang would disappear from Grey Brick Town.
