Versus Shi Jingtian (Part 3)

"Of course. You will take care of the rest. This girl doesn't need to take the examination since she is a healer." Miss Chen didn't even spare a glance toward Shi Jingtian, hence she didn't realize a trace of anger in Shi Jingtian's eyes. "Let's go, little Yue. Do you want to eat something?"

"I want to watch!"

"Okay. Let's move back a little."

Mingyue released herself from Miss Chen's hug as she pulled Miss Chen's hand.

As Miss Chen didn't spare a glance for Shi Jingtian, Shi Jingtian didn't care as he shot a gaze full of contempt toward Fu Tao.

If comparing their strength, it was akin to an elephant versus a mouse.

He believed that he could steal Miss Chen's heart if there was no annoying rats or flies around her. Hence, the two people in front of him had to be eliminated, while the earlier little girl could be rid of later.

But sadly, he didn't realize that he was the mouse.

"Fine. I will give you two choices. Continue and fight, or surrender and become a third-rate mercenary."

Even a dense person could feel the contempt in Shi Jingtian's tone, not to mention the provocation.

Not waiting for Fu Tao, Liao Yun snapped and glared, "Cut the crap with your cheap provocation. If you want to fight, then fight! No need to be such a sissy"

But Shi Jingtian didn't care about Liao Yun as his target was Fu Tao. He just continued his provocation while not sparing a glance toward Liao Yun.

"Can we just do the examination? I am not so free, you know?" Fu Tao shrugged his shoulders, but Shi Jingtian took it as a provocation toward him.

"Examination? Fine! I will give you the task. It is simple." Shi Jingtian went to the weapon rack and took a pair of an axe. "Defeat me. It is simple, isn't it?"

"Can I use my own weapon?"

"Tsk! Such a p***y. Just do what you want. And I will tell you in advance, try to not get killed." Shi Jingtian raised the axe in his weapon toward Fu Tao.

It sure was a provocation.

Far from the Mercenary Guild's backyard, but not too far.

"Big sis Chen."

Miss Chen was having fun with Mingyue on her lap.

"Is that baldie is stupid? Or is he stupid?"

Miss Chen chuckled and answered, "Well, he is not usually stupid like this. But indeed, fighting someone that is in the same league as the vice leader of Red Rage Bear Mercenary is kind of suicide, isn't it?"

Miss Chen shrugged, "The reason is simple. He was too occupied with his training if he is not instructing the 0-star mercenary. He didn't really care about some kind of rumours, except for some big rumours."

"Is he strong?" Mingyue turned her head around as she asked the question.

"Hm? If you are asking for the combat strength, this baldie sure is weaker than that man. A Middle Grade Battle Warrior cannot contend with a Peak Grade Battle Warrior, right? Except, there is some kind of miracle."

"Ah!" Mingyue flicked her finger in realization. "That baldie is indeed in luck."

"… Is it not dangerous, then?" Miss Chen had an apologetic expression because she didn't realize that Fu Tao was wounded. It was kind of neglection in her observation.

Even though Fu Tao was stronger, if counting on his wound, both Fu Tao and Shi Jingtian was in the similar strength.

As Miss Chen was contemplating whether she put on hold the examination or let the fight began, Mingyue reassured her.

"Just let them fight, big sis. Sometimes, men have to talk with their fist. Right?"

"But, Mister Fu Tao's wound is-"

"Let it be, I will heal both of them later. It is easy~" Mingyue giggled as she returned her attention at the arena.

Miss Chen was startled by Mingyue's declaration, but she didn't say anything except a mysterious smile appeared on her enchanting smile.

And now, the fight began…

"Brat! I will let you make the first move, or else I will be a laughing stock! Be gracious of it!" Shi Jingtian was acting all high and mighty.

He, as the combat instructor, would have his own pride. Especially, for a new recruit like the man in front of him.

"Er, can I?" Fu Tao had worn his pair of a tower-shaped shield, but he hadn't made any move yet.

"Go. Why not? Don't be scared. I won't lose for some shield-user."

"Okay. Here we go."

Fu Tao didn't use his Battle Technique, but rather focused on his raw strength. Since Shi Jingtian didn't circulate Elemental, he would do the same.

"Oh?" The contempt in Shi Jingtian's gaze disappeared as it was filled with curiosity.

The shield met with the axe, creating a friction between Fu Tao and Shi Jingtian.

But that was only the beginning.

Fu Tao making a punching gesture with his left shield, which was evaded by Shi Jingtian.

Even so, there was no leisure in Shi Jingtian's gaze. He became a little serious.

"Hoo? You are very good, lad. But not enough!" Shi Jingtian started his counter-attack.

With a large movement, Shi Jingtian swung the axe in his right hand from above his head downward. The swing was packed with a huge raw strength, even Fu Tao didn't dare to meet head-on with it.

Depending on his right leg, Fu Tao turned his body and aimed for a blind spot.

Knowing that it was his chance, Fu Tao kept his distance and immediately sent his punch toward Shi Jingtian's stomach.

He made this blind spot on purpose in order to attract Fu Tao's attention. While Fu Tao was baited to make this attack, the axe in his left hand was prepared behind his body.

With an evil smirk, Shi Jingtian swung his axe toward Fu Tao, toward the incoming attack.

Strength versus strength.

Shi Jingtian believed if it was the pure raw strength, he would win in no time. Look at his carved body, muscle bulged out of everywhere. Not to mention that if he put his back in this one blow.

Moreover, Shi Jingtian was the one holding the initiative.

Fu Tao's body was thrown back toward the weapon's rack, making the mess the already messed up place. The cloud of dust scattered following after the scattered weapon, creating a loud sound

The loud sound attracted the 0-star mercenaries around.

"What happened there? Isn't instructor Shi said that we must not make another mess here? Who is so stupid-"

"Sssh… Look around before spouting your nonsense. That is instructor Shi himself, you know!" Another mercenary hurriedly covered the careless mercenary's mouth.

"What? Then, who is the one fighting him?"

Many were gloating at the bad luck of that certain person.

Shi Jingtian could be considered as a muscle-man. Not only his appearance, but also his mindset. If there were any conflict, Shi Jingtian would resolve the conflict by fighting. Including the conflict between the fellow 0-star mercenary.

In one way, Shi Jingtian was a direct and hot-headed person. But in another way, he was close with most of the mercenaries. His frank nature made many mercenaries couldn't dislike him, even though they were annoyed.

Hence, when many mercenaries knew that Shi Jingtian was aiming for Miss Chen's love, they didn't want to offend him.

As the personnel of the Mercenary Guild, even the rampant Red Rage Bear Mercenary didn't want to make any trouble with Shi Jingtian.

Also, there was a little rumour.

Getting into the bad page of Shi Jingtian meant his life as a mercenary would end prematurely.

No one knew who started the rumour, and many people that were in the bad relationship with him would disappear. Some said they went to another Grade 1 Mercenary City, some said they were met with a pack of Fierce Beast, and some said that they were all annihilated. Leaving no evidence, no survivor.

But no one linked the incident with the direct Shi Jingtian since it was the direct opposite of Shi Jingtian's nature.

"What's up, boy? Unable to stand anymore? It is only the first shot, you know?" Shi Jingtian gloated as he saw the bloodied Fu Tao. "You should rest. It is the adult's playground, not for some child. Okay? Go home and hug your mommy."

Fu Tao didn't have any expression as he stared at the gloating Shi Jingtian.
