Uneven Fight! Against the Red Mask! (Part 3)

"LITTLE YUUUUUUUN. . . . ."

Not caring for anything else, Fu Tao dashed toward that faint light. Indeed, the closer he narrowed the distance, the louder the sound of the fight. He didn't know whether Liao Yun was in a real pinch or not, but his body had moved before he could think of it.

Perhaps, Mingyue was pranking him, but he wasn't sure of it.

After he dashed forward, he saw more than two shadows in the vicinity.

Indeed, Liao Yun was still exchanging blow with ex-Fatty Pig. Even after more than a hundred blows were exchanged, no one had the advantage of each other.

Ex-Fatty Pig's tyrannical strength sure was pushing Liao Yun back, but there was a little flaw in each of his movement. A blind spot would always be created when he threw his punch, giving Liao Yun a leeway to make her counter attack.

At first, Liao Yun's movement was still rough as she still couldn't keep up with ex-Fatty Pig's relentless assault, making her pushed around by each of his blow. But after a few times receiving the blow, Liao Yun found two interesting points in ex-Fatty Pig.

Slow reaction speed and a blind spot would be created when ex-Fatty Pig was prepared to throw his blow.

Grinning because of her sharp observation, Liao Yun started to change her fighting rhythm from continuous tyrannical assault into counterattacking – similar to Fu Tao's fighting style.

In order to avoid the heavy blow from ex-Fatty Pig, Liao Yun had to play with her patience - the exact opposite of her wild nature. But there was nothing she could do since the enemy was too strong.

And the result was very good, the fight was in stalemate as Liao Yun could remove her disadvantage while battling ex-Fatty Pig.

But for someone who didn't know about it, that person would think that Liao Yun was in disadvantage or couldn't even retaliate at all.

For example, Fu Tao.

"Brother Fu Tao!" Zheng Yi saw a pleasant surprise when she heard someone's howl earlier. But her happy moment ended abruptly when she saw something was moving and making move on him. "WATCH OUT!"

Because of Fu Tao's over-concern about Liao Yun, his vigilance toward the surroundings was almost nil. Hence, his reaction was a little too slow. When he realized something was wrong, a one-handed axe was swung toward his head as if wanting to split Fu Tao into two.

As if the time became slow-motion, Fu Tao raised his right hand which was wearing the tower-shaped shield. But no matter what, his reflex was a little slow. His best end would be his entire hand chopped off, but there was nothing he could do.

It was the result of his negligence – lowering his vigilance. Perhaps, it was because all of his attention was glued to Liao Yun's fighting figure, or perhaps because he was a little rash. Or because he felt content of what he had experienced in the Black Iron City – most people he met were all weaker than himself, the untalented person from Wind Chasing Tribe.

Perhaps, because he was called as an expert, his ego was flaunted deep down in his heart. He was flattered, he was happy, many people gave him their acknowledgement.

No matter what the excuse, this situation was not something that he could avoid. His fate was already decided – he was doomed.

Even though he might have to lose his limb, he didn't have any plan to give up his life.

Gritting his teeth, Fu Tao shouted in his mind and prepared for his fate, [ONE HAND? FINE! ONE HAND, THEN!]

But, something weird happened. The axe's movement was abruptly stopped in its trajectory, as if the movement was lagged for a second, making the tower-shaped shield in Fu Tao's hand had the chance to block the incoming axe.

CLANK!

"Ugh!" Unconsciously, Fu Tao grunted out because of the heavy blow. But not giving Fu Tao any breather, the axe was vertically swung for the second time.

Bam! Fu Tao's body was thrown back, unable to neutralize the second blow. But at the bright side, there was no wound at all, not to mention lost his limb.

It was a miracle! It was what Fu Tao thinking. But not far from his position, a pair of bright eyes snorted at Fu Tao for adding work for her.

Yes, it was Xiao Jing.

"Good job, Xiao Jing." How could such event escape from Mingyue's eyes?

Snorting as her answer, Xiao Jing blended with the darkness again, eyeing the whole place.

The assailant's figure was touched by the faint illumination, giving Fu Tao a better view. It was a man, with the similar height with Fu Tao. His figure was lean, but full of muscle and holding a pair of one-handed axe in both of his hands. He couldn't figure out his facial feature since he wore a red-coloured mask. It was a little creepy, but he couldn't possibly comment on another's taste.

But, there was something wrong – he felt something was amiss. . . but he couldn't figure it out. . .

"Little Yun!" Fu Tao shouted because he couldn't possibly lower his vigilance. From earlier clash, he understood that he was losing out in term of strength. "Are you okay? I can't help you for the time being! I have to handle this one crap!"

But soon after Fu Tao just finished his word, another figure appeared beside the one-handed axe user. This newcomer had a different outfit and figure, but he wore the same red-coloured mask.

When Mingyue saw the two newcomer's appearance, she was a little surprised. These two newcomers were the two people who were caught previously by ex-Fatty Pig and ex-Pig Head.

From the four victims from Sword of Light, one person's head was crushed while another one was split into two. But after these two, another two persons fell as Sword of Light was on run.

But never crossed in Mingyue's mind that these two people would be turned into something similar to an undead. No, perhaps, calling it a puppet was more suitable.

Except for wearing the same red mask, these two puppets were wearing their original gear rather than the ash-coloured armour.

"Eeer, let me pull back what I say, little Yun. There are two craps." Fu Tao was speechless, but he understood that he was in the grave situation. Holding off the one-handed axe user was already a difficult task. But adding another one? No one knew, including Fu Tao himself.

"SHUT YOUR CRAP!" Similar to Fu Tao, Liao Yun's hands were full. "DON'T DISTURB ME, DON'T ANNOY ME, AND SCRAM AWAY!"

BAAAM!!!

Liao Yun leapt back to evade a strong punch from ex-Fatty Pig. That punch was strong enough to create a crack on the floor – at Liao Yun's original spot.

The shockwave from that punch made Liao Yun staggered backwards, but a blind spot was created at that moment – around the waist to armpit. Not letting this chance away, Liao Yun lunged forward and made a strong uppercut, directly at ex-Fatty Pig's chin.

BAM!

Akin to hitting a soft cotton, there was no any reaction from the other party. Realizing that her counter-attack was useless, Liao Yun somersaulted over ex-Fatty Pig's head to evade another blow.

Sweat after sweat flowed around her face along with her rough breathing. But her current condition betrayed her good mood and bright expression.

[This is it! This is what I want! Hahaha!]

Not fearing for defeat, not depending only on her pure strength, but she expended everything she could do to defeat the other party, the unknown assailant. It was her joy, her delight and enjoyment – the one she never experienced back in the Wind Chasing Tribe's settlement.

And unconsciously, in this way, Liao Yun's potential was squeezed in this fight – against someone stronger than herself.

At the other side, Zheng Yi grouped up with Zheng Zhanglie, Peng Zhen, Song Qi, and Mingyue. Their attention was stolen by Liao Yun and Fu Tao's performance.

". . . Am I dreaming?" Zheng Zhanglie couldn't even close his mouth after saying that. Seeing the acrobatic movement of Liao Yun and Fu Tao's capability of handling two enemies was an eye-opening lesson.

This was what people called as an expert! Moreover, they were the modest one, not putting up any arrogance air.

Peng Zhen was similar to Zheng Zhanglie, but she was more composed. All of her attention was glued toward both Liao Yun's flexibility and Fu Tao's weapon proficiency. As someone who aspired to be a mercenary had to learn many things, and the pair in front of her was a good teacher – both Liao Yun and Fu Tao's ability was much above her capability.

In combat, not to mention in a life-or-death combat, the winner was not decided by one's strength, but many factors. While strength was one factor, weapon's proficiency and flexibility of one body could be counted as another factor.

And more importantly, when she could watch an expert's battle live like this?

Meanwhile, Zheng Yi was like, "Aah~ . . . Lovely, big sister Liao Yun is so lovely~~ . . ." With feverish gaze, she couldn't move her gaze from the valiant figure of Liao Yun.

(Author's Note: ONEESAMA! That's what I want to write, but I think I will stick with English, maybe?)
