"Let's speed up the game."
Using the full advantage of her small stature, Mingyue lowered her body even smaller in front of ex-Pig Head, making the latter harder to aim and swing the greatsword.
But as if not caring about the very close distance between ex-Pig Head with Mingyue, the former made a sharp thrust downward. From his position, it was indeed easier to make a thrust rather than a swing.
It was a deadly blow, precise and fast enough.
Using the pair of daggers, Mingyue narrowly held and deflected the greatsword's trajectory a little. Taking this chance, Mingyue made use of the greatsword's impact to rotate her body, made a crescent-shaped movement with her right leg and used her left leg as the pivot, she slashed at ex-Pig Head's right hand.
Swiiish!
Splaaat!
Bloods flew around as the cut hand fell to the ground.
The Elemental-coated dagger added with the rotation, making the dagger's impact increased by a level. It was not a simple coating, but a double coating. By coating the dagger with Elemental, Mingyue could improve the sharpness by another level, but it was not enough to deal with the ex-Pig Head's ability to reduce the amount of Elemental on the dagger. Thus, she coated the coated dagger with the Elemental for the sake to protect the coated dagger's offensive ability – as long as the coated dagger was coated, the ex-Pig Head was not a problem for her.
Not to mention that the dagger was originally sharp enough. It was as if cutting a steel as easy as cutting through a pile of mud.
But, there was no sense of accomplishment. Mingyue's expression didn't soften, but it was the opposite – her observation hadn't ended yet.
"Not screaming, not making any voice. Indeed, a puppet." Mingyue stared at the red mask which was worn by ex-Pig Head with great interest. "But, where is there the mastermind? In fact, this one and the other three's movement are too predictable, there is no trace like they are being manipulated or something. Just like. . . ."
Instinct! Just like a beast!
Or perhaps, she could say that it was more like an unconscious movement of the person behind the red mask before being turned into a puppet.
Facing with one-handed ex-Pig Head, Mingyue had more leeway in the fight – there was no danger anymore. But no matter what, the matter of red mask intrigued her.
"Ah! I just remember!" Mingyue stared up and down at ex-Pig Head as if wanting to strip naked the latter. "This one is one of the two idiots that wear everything! From top to bottom!"
Mingyue just remembered the crux of the problem. At first, there were only two idiots who wore the armours and the red mask willingly – Fatty Pig and Pig Head. After killing two people from Sword of Light, both of them caught another two. Yes, caught – not killing like the first two.
And after that, ex-Fatty Pig and ex-Pig Head forcefully pasted the red mask, adding another two puppets.
Because all four of them wore the same red mask, Mingyue neglected this important point.
"Wait. If both are programmed to kill, then why would these original two kill two people before catching another two people? Are they retarded, no, is the mastermind retarded? It is better to have more puppet rather than blatantly killing in front of many eyes." Mingyue wrinkled her nose as if looking down on the mastermind's intelligence.
"Also, what is about that gaudy gauntlet? Only hand? I mean, only one hand? So useless. It's not like by flicking his finger, the wearer will be able to kill, right?"
No matter how Mingyue thought about it, there was no any answer. After contemplating for some time, Mingyue decided to pay a visit to the Sword of Light's headquarter in Black Iron City later.
Swaaash, swiiiish. . .
Faced with relentless swing and thrust from the one-handed ex-Pig Head, Mingyue only evaded all of it. Thinking that it was the time to conclude the experiment, Mingyue somersaulted backwards to gain enough distance from ex-Pig Head.
As her feet just reached the ground, electricity surrounded her legs as her whole body lunged forward with an undetectable speed – akin to a released arrow.
Without any sound, without any trace, Mingyue appeared behind ex-Pig Head's body. The latter had no any reaction, even until now – as if time was frozen.
Mingyue's body trembled as she unleashed the circulated Elemental in her body and focused on reducing her muscle ache. After taking a breather, her tensed body softened.
"Sigh. I guess I cannot use Lightning Step with this body." Mingyue pouted as she sat down on the ground and neglected the danger behind her. But the weird thing happened – ex-Pig Head didn't move from his spot, or perhaps, he was frozen. "At least, not in this kind of situation."
But without Mingyue did anything, ex-Pig Head was indeed killed – no life left in his body.
Even though ex-Pig Head was made into a puppet, his life was still there. Of course, without intelligence and without free reign of one's body, Mingyue didn't know whether to call that kind of person was living or dead. And she believed that no one wanted to be made into that kind of existence.
But in exchange for power increment? This instantaneous Elemental Warrior, or at the very worst Peak Grade Battle Warrior? Mingyue didn't know.
In a world full of greed, there would be those kinds of people – people who want to achieve strength without working on it.
But it was not her problem as she was not anyone's saviour.
"Are you okay? Is it done?" Xiao Jing asked with a cold tone, but Mingyue could feel the concern behind the cold tone.
Chuckling while massaging her sore legs, Mingyu gave a casual answer, "Un. Let me rest a little before return. Xiao Wu, are those people okay?"
"I never fail my job, you know." Xiao Wu's smug voice was resounded in Mingyue's head. "Are you coming back now? I think their battle is going to end anytime soon."
"Nah. Give me a little more time. I want to untie your braids."
"Why! Why why why why! Don't, Yueyue! It is good! Moreover, it was my first time making a braid!"
"Nope. It is a little uncomfortable when I was fighting earlier." Knowing that Xiao Wu was sulking, Mingyue added, "Tie it more simple next time, okay?"
". . . Un."
Mingyue stared upward, thinking of her destination. Or more precisely, her journey without Liao Yun and Fu Tao. A good time would always come, and would leave eventually. She couldn't stay together forever as she had her own things to do – searching for her family member, before returning to her warm home.
As she closed her eyes, she could remember vividly her mother's gentle smile, her little brother's foolish stare, her grandfather unreasonableness, her big brother's care, and even if she didn't want to remember, her father's foolishness.
It was her place, full of warmth and smile.
"That's right!" Mingyue flicked her fingers as she just remembered something. "Big sister Lanyue. Didn't she say that she wants to become a mercenary? And if I am not wrong, she should be at. . ."
"The Water Association. No one around here." Xiao Jing replied, which was the right answer.
"That's right. . ." Like a deflated balloon, Mingyue's shoulders lowered as if losing her strength. But in a blink of an eye, she regained her spirit while chuckling, "Then that's mean my journey with little Yun and smelly tofu shouldn't end anytime soon, right?"
". . . Maybe?"
"Yep. Let's stick around a little longer."
Her tiny figure stood up as her untied hair was dancing with each of her movement. Not long after, a dark glow shrouded her hair and became shorter and silky black hair.
With each of her step, Mingyue was humming on the way return, leaving the standing-still ex-Pig Head.
After some time, his body was split into left and right, from the middle of his head to his crotch. A clean and straight cut. Even the red mask was divided into two.
Bam Bam. . . .
There was no blood flowed from the corpse, only a few small snake-shaped blue lightning which was dancing around the fatal wound. The inside of the corpse were all charred and dark-coloured, as if the inside was burnt.
Even after Mingyue left the place, the snake-shaped blue lightning devoured the corpse, until nothing was left.
No trace. . . no one was around. . . no one knew.
