The News

In a small city, a news of murder would no doubts blow up. In a small city such as this, there will be things that can not be done in large cities, but can be done here. In a small city such as this, news travels rather quickly.

"Has there been any progress on the murderer?" the news reporter asked.

"No. Even if she's the only suspect we have, she doesn't seem to be the murderer," the police said, his face heavy with stress.

"Do you think she's lying?"

"No, in fact she doesn't seem to have lied to any of our questions. It's just that we can't seem to be able to ask her the right questions."

"Would it be possible for us to interview her?"

"Well, it doesn't seem like we're going anywhere!" the man said with a laugh, signalling that she could in fact talk to the suspect.

-----------------

She looked like a psychopath, that was the first impression Avery got from the suspects. She had watched enough movies to know that the most psychopathic of them all are the ones that seem like regular people.

Her white hair was neatly tied into a ponytail and it reached beyond her waist. She wore an orange jumpsuit that didn't suit her very well.

"May I help you?" her voice sent shivers up my spine at the coldness of it.

"Would you mind answering a few of my questions?" I asked her, feeling frightened for no reason at all.

She turned to look at me, her cold eyes piercing mine and sweat started to form on my back.

"Does my answer matter?" she asked back.

Flustered, I started to ask the questions to remove myself from the awkward position I was stuck in.

"Did you kill Lucy?"

"Yes."

I was taken aback by such a straightforward answer and a question I didn't mean to escape me, did. "Are you a psychopath?"

"Will you believe me?"

"No," I found myself saying.

"Good, I'll tell you one thing. The end of the world is tomorrow."

I gave up on asking her questions, it is quite clear that she has gone crazy.
