Going Back to Backwater City

"Umm, what are you d- doing?" Meng Shan got more and more nervous as Li Bai's hand traveled through her body.

In his mind, Li Bai was ridiculing Meng Shan for even thinking such thoughts. Naturally, he had no motives like that. Just that in order to resolve her problem, he needed to find out the exact location of the blockage on her body.

"Aha! There it is." Li Bai's hand stopped just under her neck.

"Phew..." Meng Shan was quite relieved at his words. If he had taken advantage of her, she would not have the ability to fight back anyway.

Li Bai's palm removed itself from Meng Shan's skin. He then tapped the location with his forefinger multiple times, each time with greater force than the one previous.

While Li Bai was doing this, Meng Shan was feeling more and more relaxed, her legs were wobbling out of control.

Finally, she fell over unconscious.

"Erm..." Li Bai scratched his head. Was it really that relaxing? Falling asleep over it? Hah, I cannot do anything about it...

Li Bai carried her and walked over to her bed. Before laying her down there, however, he recalled how hard her bed was.

In the end, he brought out another bed from his ring and replaced Meng Shan's bed with it. Only then did he put her down.

A few hours later...

Li Bai was fortifying his cultivation. After all, he did rush through the Mortal realm.

He sat crosslegged right outside the door of Meng Shan's house.

Small rays of light were making their way out of him, making the scene look spectacular. The lights were of different color each, not one having the same color as some other one.

However, this was the extent as to how much Li Bai could cultivate.

Every time he cultivated, he always had the same problem - enlightenment.

This was a chance occurence that one could happen upon in their lifetime, and it would not only aid them in their cultivation, it would also mature their minds.

This was the most problematic for Li Bai. Since he has lived for a few milleniums already, it would be absurd if his mind wasn't mature yet.

The only reason he was acting so childish was because his current body needed him to act as such.

In one of his past lives, he acted like a mature elder when he was only about three years old. The place he was in was very secluded, so they had no knowledge about the concept of Mark Geniuses or anything of the sort.

That was why he was determined a little demon, and was executed on the spot, much to the dismay of his parents.

There was also the reason of his body impulsively telling him what to do, instead of going through his thought process first. This was an inherent problem that many children had, so it was not a huge hindrance to Li Bai.

Eventually, he had fortified his cultivation to the fullest.

Even though his cultivation was only at the Fifth Level Mortal Mark, his fighting prowess could beat a First Level Heavenly Mark, or even a Second Level if he tried to!

If he uses his artifacts and items in his ring, it was even possible to beat a Fifth Level Godly Mark... However, he would never use them unless it was a dire situation.

He stood up and looked behind him.

"She's still sleeping, huh?"

Li Bai shook his head. He did not have time for this. He needed to do something to suppress his ever-increasing impatience.

"...I guess I'll just come back later."

After deciding that, Li Bai went into his storage ring in search of possible modes of fast transportation.

"Maybe I can use this... no, it would burn too much materials..."

"How about this? No, it would take too long to do."

"It's this then? No, this one isn't even fast!"

"Aha!" Li Bai found a teleportation array from his book collection. This one was his own creation. It was also the best one that ever existed.

He exited the ring while holding it, after which he started to set it up.

First, he removed all of the grass in tge area to make the process easier. Next, he started to draw peculiar figures here and there which complemented each other quite nicely.

Bringing out materials from his ring, he placed them on the ground in precise positions. The only thing he needed to do now was to make the same array from anywhere to teleport back here.

"There we go!"

Feeling satisfied, Li Bai started to run towards the general direction of Backwater City.

"If I'm in the Light Forest, then the Northern Mountains should be there...! And Backwater City should be here."

.....

Meanwhile, Meng Shan's eyelids started moving. Her four limbs stretched as she moaned. She then sat upright and rubbed her eyes with her forefinger.

With messy hair and disheveled clothes, she opened her eyes all the way and looked outisde her window.

"Ah... it's afternoon."

She stood up from the bed and fixed her clothing and hair, and only then did she realize that something was different about her bed. It was infinitely more comfy than before.

Curiosity clouding her judgement, she jumped onto the bed. As soon as she made contact with it, the mattress quickly sunk down under her weight.

"It- it's so soft!"

Meng Shan couldn't help but moan to express her pleasure when she dove headfirst into this bed that she slept in.

Only after that did she recover her rationality.

"It's probably Master who gave me this bed. But when did I fall asleep?"

She tried to recall the events that led up to her lying on this comfortable bed.

"Oh, that's right! He tapped right here, then I passed out...," Meng Shan said as she imitated her master's movements and tapped the location where he tapped earlier.

"But where is he now? Did he leave? Do I not have enough talent?"

Meng Shan's thinking quickly turned pessimistic as Li Bai was nowhere to be found.

It made sense, seeing that she wasn't able to even activate a measly Energy Crystal. She then passed out after her master did a couple of taps.

"Thinking about it, I do look weak in the perspective of others... but I swear I'm not." Meng Shan felt disheartened at her abandonment, but there was nothing she could do. Who knew if her master was already across the other side of the continent by now?
