The Black Out

I'm a straight man and this is the first time I ever read BL. Upon starting I was a bit worried. Would I catch the big gay? (That's a meme. No offense meant LGBTQ community). Fortunately, I made it through all six chapters without questioning my sexuality. Okay. All jokes aside, the story is actually quite interesting. An apocalypse mystery novel with a smart surgeon and yandere ex-prisoner BF. The BL seemed like an addition to the novel as opposed to the main story, which I appreciated. I've scored the story below: Writing Quality 3/5: The story suffers a bit here. I feel like the author might speak English as their second language? There are frequent grammatical issues that sound weird in my head when I read them. However, the author also has really good descriptions for what's happening. The grammatical mistakes are also minor enough to still easily understand what's happening. The best way I can describe it is that it reads kind of like a novel that's been translated by a newbie translator that speaks English as their 2nd language. Stability of Updates 5/5. I think updates are fairly frequent from what I can see? Seems to be a brand new novel. Story Development 5/5: The novel excels in story telling. The story is what kept me reading. Character design 5/5: Characters are interesting, but I feel they can be fleshed out a bit more. It's still early though, so I may be jumping the gun in that judgement. I hope yandere BF doesn't go full-rapist. He's already a bit creepy with how he does things. Then again, it's an apocalyptic world and he's a psychopath. Not all characters are meant to be loved. I believe the author should do what he feels is best for his story. World Background: 5/5. Just like the story, the world background is excellent. The descriptions for describing the surroundings were excellent and I felt like I could see everything vividly. Excellent work. My final thoughts for the author: Keep writing and reading. Work a bit on your English and I think the books quality will soar. The story itself was much better than I expected. If you ever move out of the BL Genre, then I wouldn't be surprised if you could build a fan-base around your story development and world building alone.

I just started reading this book it was really really good I was getting into the characters I love the story plot I love everything about it and then it just quit not the seven months ago oh my God why did you quit writing it was such a good story please keep writing this book it is so good I was really into it

This story is so good so far all it needs is more updates, so please please please update author ,not only that the way the story is giving off a apocalypse kind of setting then maybe again it maybe a apocalypse setting

Definitely recommended if you don't mind BL. The slow build up is amazing and feels so natural. The description of the world around is also so visual. The main character acts like the set characteristic he observed his surroundings and made intelligent direction and decision.

Recommended.but This story seriously need someone who can correct mistake words here and there.If that is fixed,than this story will be much better to read.Other than that,all is fine.Or can say that this story is very satisfyingly to read for those who like BL ,Apocalypse type story.Don't know others but at least this story is worth my time to read on.And so this picky stalker will stalk on the main pair from now on. (*grinning*). he he Found another bl book worth enough to add on bookmark.(*thumb up to author*)story is very interesting.

I love the complexity of the characters.... n the hint of the unexpected. Have been on the hunt for an apocalypse novel n I m glad I found this one, just hope that it updates regularly.

Lately I've been obsessed with apocalypse novels, but I'm quite picky in choosing them. this one definitely is good in my library. Characters so far are cool. MC is a surgeon, a good choice to be with during apocalypse, a thinking type. The other guy is a a murderous, handsome, psychopath though I could still not understand him too much bc there's only 5 chaps now. Storywise it is good wn needs more of this 'decent' apocalypse novels. Grammar is good, with a few mistakes here and there but doesn't really destroy the context and the readability. BL, it doesn't really fall into my reading choice, but I still have read a few. I prefer the squishy types but since this is an apocalyptic novel, i don't really know if there would be much of those. But atleast MC still falls on the cute size. For non-bl fan like me, this is on the 'tolerable' level. My only personal wish is that... there should never be rape ever. I'd hate that. Over all, it's beautifully done. Good job!!!

It's been a year now, I'm worried something happened to you but I hope you are doing well out there. I absolutely love this story and will be waiting for this story to be updated, of course I won't force you to update but it's hurt when you left us hanging without telling us if you decided to leave. I'm not sure if I'm right or not that you are from Indonesia and I know this because I saw your story on Novel update and even there you never went online. I know it's pathetic for waiting this story and I want to let you know that I will always remember you and your story :)

So I am caught up. I don't particularly read BL, I have my days where I will find that I need something different in my life every once in a while usually once a month but still I am actually happy I kept reading through the chapters. It had a bit of a rocky start in the beginning. The grammar was bad but quickly improved later one. Like amazingly improved the only complaint is the repetition of the word "doll" particularly in the same sentence/ dialogue. They way that Dom's personality is honestly the best in the words, possessive and protective, I would expect his to same more like your my property, you belong to only me, gorgeous just only watch me and I will keep you safe, or No harm is to come to this body! If you get ever a scratch on what belongs to me I will kill you. But I got to say the intimate scenes top notch, like you are the one doing all the tantalizing haughty....drool ... cough... experiencing the scenes. Absolutely wonderful. I love apocalyptic novels mainly for the struggle one will need to put come out on top. It's still in the semi early stages. Love that they have been attacked but I feel like they are moving through the world a little too easily. Could use some more suspense but again it's still early and I know we need to learn about what is going on. It's NYC there has got to be some mutated rats climbing along the side of the wall peering their ugly beady eyes into windows. Keep up the good work! Permanently in my library!
