Kewang Tian – The Testing Part 2

Kewang Tian suddenly appeared on the other side of the door, feeling woozy, shaking his head heavily.

Taking a deep gulp.

"That didn't feel nice…"

[You're still not used to spatial transport, even after so long in the Spirit World.] Ming Yue's voice sounded in his head.

"I can't help it… have you ever felt like you've been torn about and distorted a thousand times over!" Kewang Tian sharply replied.

[It's like spaghettification.] Ming Yue gave a snort in response.

"It's like what?" Kewang Tian gave a confused look.

[Don't worry. Focus on what is to come!] She responded angrily.

This caused Kewang Tian to come to his senses, realizing that this test could possibly be dangerous. He took a deep breath and stood up straight. Looking around, the door led to a beautiful meadow-like area, lush and green, with different multicolored flowers. It truly was a paradise.

As he looked deeper, he noticed there was a tall three-legged alter, that came to around his neck. It was charcoal, with crimson gagged edges. It radiated an aura of oppression as if this thing did not belong in this world.

[An artifact!] Ming Yue suddenly said.

"An artifact? You mean, as in what blacksmiths make? How is it radiating such an aura?" Kewang Tian questioned.

[I don't know who that, Kuo Li is, but he's certainly brought some treats down with him.] Ming Yue mumbled.

Ignoring Ming Yue, Kewang Tian was transfixed on the altar wanting to approach and touch it.

His feet seemingly moved by themselves. One step after another, they traveled towards the altar, slowly reaching out his hand, placing it upon its top.

Chi!

"Ahh!" Kewang Tian screamed, at the top of his lungs.

As soon as he placed, his hand on the altar, a dark metal spike, sprung out and pierced through his hand. His blood burst out, splattering everywhere. But, slowly, the remaining would trickle down the spike, onto the three legs, and into three little pools, of clear water.

The closest received the first drop of blood. The blood slowly drifted to the bottom. Fading and diluting the pool.

Not red though, it was purple, and turning the pool purple.

Suddenly a face appeared, hovering above the top of the portal. It was as if it was translucent but had just turned visible.

"Bloodline rank: Legendary or above. Accurate measurement is unavailable."

By this point though, Kewang Tian wasn't paying attention. Currently, he was on his knees holding his hand. Screaming in pain.

The second drop had finally the second pool.

"Martial Spirit Rank: Divine Ranked Moon Spirit. Damaged Spirit, what is the moon without the sun? What is Yin without Yang?"

The cold voice said emotionlessly.

Hearing this Ming Yue's eyes focused on the altar, slightly shivering. [What rank artifact is this to possibly know something such as that?] her heart started to pound.

The third drop of purple blood finally hit the third pool.

"Spirit Connection: Imperial or higher. Theoretically, such a connection should be impossible for all but the Spirit Pantheon… strange."

Ming Yue's mouth literally dropped. [Spirit Pantheon… how does it know about the Spirit Pantheon.] she was utterly stunned, to the point where she couldn't speak properly.

"Conclusion: Heretical Level Talent. Test passed."

A white light suddenly shot out from the altar, towards Kewang Tian, but unable to even notice it in time, the light hit him in the chest.

There was no pain though, in fact, it gave him a warm fuzzy feeling as if he was receiving a hug from a loved one. Slowly the pain started to fade, and his screaming stopped.

He leaned his head back, he could hear the gentle breeze of the meadow. The rushing water of rivers, and the chirping of birds.

It seemed all his troubles have faded away. No Kewang Clan troubles. No Spirit World. Not even any cultivation. There was only him – at peace.

He took a deep breath, all of it gone, and he was just here alone in paradise…

Then he thought to himself – "No."

"I have too much to do! If I don't fight, who will fight for me? I was abandoned and bullied. And I just want to give up… No… No! I shall fight all those that try to hold me down. I shall never be oppressed again. Even if the heavens themselves come crashing down upon me, I'll have to tear them asunder!"
