His ribs hurt.
It wasn't the first time they'd been broken, but maybe he'd pushed himself far too much in the past month
It wasn't like he'd had any choice though, there had just been too much to do.
He took a deep breath and gave the most reassuring smile he could only to see his companions wince at it, maybe it was too much to try to look confident with several missing teeth, blood pouring down his face and a broken nose
He struggled to speak as clearly as he could with his almost collapsed windpipe gasping for air between each word
"I guess i'll be going first, cover my tab would you?"
Without waiting for a response, he got off the gurney they had set him on after the last fight and head towards the center of the arena, hobbling the entire way
Usually, the only time he set foot in the arena was when he'd been challenged, he'd show up and fight, then leave but right now he wasn't here for a challenge or rather he had already completed the challenge
Now he was here to end things
It had been a long ten years, but he'd done it, he managed to achieve enough victories and more importantly life-debts to make a claim before the alter of Justice, all that was left was to summon it
He struggled to the center of the arena almost falling the entire time, but still he arrived, even as he noticed his wounds reopening pouring blood all around him
Already he could feel his vision dimming, but he still had strength enough to do this one thing
Reaching out with all he could muster he reached into himself with his mind seizing hold of every imprint within him, every debt of life owed from the races of the nine realms, he pushed the fates of so many lives, of so many people into his hands, some were far, some were close, some powerful, some weak, some unthinking, some cunning, but they all felt it in the moment he seized it, their faces changing to one of shock then as realization dawned into a mask of horror
He recoiled slightly from the intensity of the emotions assaulting him, almost falling over but he grit his teeth and stayed firm, a banner formed in his hands seemingly made out of light, it radiated a gentle warmth that steadied his hands and focused his mind, and even as the horror assaulted him he planted the banner with as much force as he could muster into the ground, screaming out at the top of his lungs
"I SUMMON JUSTICE!!!"
