TGIF! Today is a good Friday! End earlier than other days and there's drama lessons! (drama is considered one of the subjects that is more fun as its not a typical lesson where students just sit down and listen to teachers' boring lectures) Isn't that good? Well.. good so far, until..Lyn practised her scenes with Devon.
So Devon was supposed to start by saying "I am actually your..brother".
However, they planned to make a scene (with Lyn as the devil, Devon the angel of course!).
And as for what kind of scene, you'll know in awhile!
"I..I.." Devon forgot his lines after noticing Lyn's intense gaze on him.
In order to 'make a scene', Lyn really pressured him with intense glares, making him forget what he wanted to say without needing to act.
"Again." Lyn commanded fiercely, not letting go of her intense glare.
Looking stressed, Devon tried saying his lines again.
"I..I.." of course he couldn't say his lines again.
"You..you what? Is that the only thing you can say?! Do you even know what you're supposed to say?!" Lyn reprimanded naturally in a harsh tone.
Devon gulped in embarrassment, with anger rising inside him, though not shown to anyone. Never once was he humiliated like that, yet the only one that dared to do this to him was actually Lyn..
Well, more like he allowed it.
Although they're merely acting, he still felt that the humiliation was real and of course, he's not happy about it.
Argh!
Thinking of that infuriated him.
Yet, the irony was that he was the one that suggested this, so all I can say is that he deserves it.
Seeing Devon's reaction to her scoldings, Lyn was satisfied and pleasantly surprised.
Woah, he could act better than I thought! His face really make people wanna pity him and even I myself will think that I'm a bitchy person and that he's an angel. Moreover, seeing Devon in a pitiful state is only an once in a blue moon occurrence. Lyn felt special and honoured to be the first to witness it.
No, I shouldn't think about that!! I have to concentrate on my mission!
With that in mind, she wore an expression like how she imagined what a bitchy girl should look like.
As she gathered more and more attention with her scoldings, she was secretly pleased but she knew that if she showed it, people will view her as a lunatic and she may not give off the bad impression as she had planned on doing.
"Lyn why are you shouting?" the deep and booming voice of Mr Zin almost made Lyn's heart jump out of her body.
Goodness gracious! I'd only intended to leave a bad impression on my classmates yet I'd also attracted Mr Zin's attention. Lyn cursed internally.
Yet she still had to answer Mr Zin.
Just then, an idea suddenly struck Lyn.
You know what, I can use this as another opportunity to create bad impressions!
"Sorry, Mr Zin. It's just that Devon can't seem to do anything right!" Lyn complained
Upon hearing Lyn's response, Mr Zin uttered some inaudible words under his breath, making Lyn unsure if he's talking to her or what. However, when she looked around, it seemed like she's the only one that matches the direction of where Mr Zin is looking at.
Ahh seems like I need to dig my ears, Lyn made a note to herself.
Embarrassed, she asked Mr Zin "sorry, what did you say?"
Unsure if she's seeing things or what, but Lyn swore that she'd saw an astonished look on Mr Zin's face for a second before reverting back to a smile.
Oh no! Do I need to get my eyes checked too?
Lyn began worrying about her health as it seems like her senses are failing her already although she was still in her teen years.
"Devon is new to this so you have to be understanding towards him and guide him. Alright I believe all of you are young adults and are mature enough to not get petty over such things, right? okay so go and practise!"
Ay that was easy! I was expecting him to scold me or punish me, Lyn thought.
Meanwhile, after seeing how Lyn treated Devon, the whole class was unhappy and started gossiping about her
Who does she think she is? So what if she acts well? She shouldn't get so complacent and use her authority to bully Devon!
Yeah! She makes it seem like Devon was terrible when he only made 2 minor mistakes!
Haiz poor Devon! He's so unlucky to be stucked with Lyn!
...
Hearing these comments, Lyn and Devon exchanged a quick smile.
As what they'd expected!
However, as many people are glaring daggers at Lyn, Lyn could not lower her guard and had to continue acting like she couldn't get along with Devon until drama lessons were over.
As the time passed slowly for a certain someone, to Lyn and Devon, time was passing quite fast. In a blink of an eye, the bell rang.
After making sure that everyone has dispersed, both Lyn and Devon gathered at a corner, where no one could see them from far, to discuss their next plan.
"Good job, now that everyone have a bad impression of you, people are bound to tell Greggy to change your seat." Devon congratulated Lyn in a low voice.
"But..what should I do next?" Lyn asked with uncertainty.
For fear that someone might over hear the plan, Devon beckoned Lyn to come closer and whispered his plans in her ears.
However from Yennie's angle, it looked like they are kissing.
As such, she was shocked and curious. To prevent herself from dying from curiosity, she tiptoed and approached the duo at a closer range, to hear Devon telling Lyn "See you at my house" before the two parted ways.
!!!!
Wha...?
Yennie was speechless. Didn't they not get along with each other previously? Moreover they even made a scene during drama, yet this...
Yennie could not believe her eyes. No, I'm probably dreaming, right?
To check if she's in reality or dreamland, she pinched herself hard.
"OW!"
Yennie yelped in pain, however her loud groans gave her away.
"Yennie? What are you doing here?" Lyn questioned
Oh crap I've been discovered.
"Oh hi Lyn! Isn't today's weather great?" Yennie tried changing the topic.
haha..grey clouds and dark sky..
You call that great weather?!
Or.. is it just my ears?
Lyn thought to herself, suspecting that her ears are tricking her again.
Before Lyn could say a word, Yennie carried on with what she'd intended to do ages ago; bombard her with questions:
"Lyn, what's going on with you and Devon?! Just awhile ago you guys quarrelled. Yet now, you guys actually..kissed?! I know you're hiding something from me! Just what is going on?!"
woah woah woah.. so many questions at once, how am I supposed to answer? And my ears is spoilt already! I actually heard Yennie saying that me and Devon kissed?!
"Yennie, I think my ears are blocked or there's some problem with my ears thats making me hear things that don't make sense so can you write out your questions instead of just asking me?" Lyn requested.
To her surprise, when she read what Yennie had written, it was exactly the same as what she'd heard!
This..
How is this possible? Could it be that I'm blind too?
"Umm Yennie, are you sure you said and or or wrote that me and Devon kissed?! If you did, nod your head. If you didn't, don't move at all" Lyn requested Yennie so as to check if her senses are working properly.
Initially, Yennie was speechless and dumbfounded that she stood rooted to the ground, making Lyn think that that meant that she needed to get all her five senses checked. However, after awhile, she nodded her head vigorously.
This.. does it mean yes or no? Lyn was confused
"Umm can you do it again?" Lyn asked in embarrassment, embarrassed that she had bad hearing, eyesight at such a young age.
However to Yennie, all these was just Lyn's excuse and distractions to make her give up asking her questions.
"ENOUGH! Stop pretending you didn't hear or see the questions. Do you think I'm a fool? How could someone see AND hear wrongly? Also, even if you wanna fool me, you should wait till April's fool!" Yennie finally let out all her feelings of ridiculousness that she'd accumulated due to Lyn's troublesome and ridiculous requests, feeling much better after letting all out.
But the thing is, its possible..
Lyn argued in her heart, knowing that its of no use telling Yennie that don't even believe her.
So poor Lyn just answered based on what she'd heard and/saw, which she thought was misheard / misread.
"First of all, Devon and I didn't kiss. Anyways, what made you say that we kissed?" Lyn turned the tables and questioned Yennie instead.
"I.." Yennie was speechless and caught spying on Lyn.
