Flame Infused Knives

Liao Jie clapped his hands and smiled awkwardly at Xueyu who was still fuming.

'Hehe....,' he trailed off with his hand scratching his head.

Xueyu was past annoyed but she steeled herself. She knew what her plan was and what she had to do. She simply wished her path to success was by her own means. She was angry enough to try to take on Ning Ye anyways.

'Youth nowadays.... no respect,' Huang Chen said in anger.

Liao Jie reddened as he was of course young. No doubt he was of the same playful and obnoxious behaviour.

Xueyu shook her head and a thought popped in. By studying his character she could accurately pin point what his type was. Fortunately for her, simpering wasn't going to win him over.

He seemed to be the kind that didn't mind seeing a lady batting her eyelashes all the time but he wasn't in the least enchanted by it.

This fell right in with Xueyu's plans. She could kill two birds with one stone.

He stood unsure of what exactly to say to that. In the end there was a painfully awkward silence present.

For some strange reason, both Qui Yang seemed to direct some sort of hostility towards him. Even Xueyu could pick up on it.

She wasn't quite sure of what could've caused that but it was oddly interesting.

The tournament would be rather exciting, she decided.

About the tournament...

Wu Yen dashed into the room with a troubled expression. He shot Xueyu a look before talking to Liao Jie, the General's son.

'Ning Ye... he isn't in such a good mood and he doesn't feel like he can battle now,' he explained.

Huang Chen was enraged.

'Oh! So he thinks the world revolves around him?'

'Liao Jie the tournament will commence as usual yes? This old man has travelled too far to have this great disappointment,' he added.

In the way he asked, he left no room for a rebuttal or refusal.

Liao Jie steeled himself and told Wu Yen that he could have a short break but the tournament would commence.

Wu Yen huffed and glowered at Huang Chen.

'I don't even know you old man. You can't be of any significance,' he mumbled under his breath.

Qui Yang placed a hand before Huang Chen to keep him from leaping onto Wu Yen.

'You have me acting like twice my age while you act like half of mine,' he scolded him.

Xueyu couldn't help a chuckle at how the tables had turned.

Liao Jie walked out after Wu Yen after noting the atmosphere in the room.

Xueyu left the two men and walked out to find the rest of the sect members.

It was just about time to set her plan into motion...

••

Xueyu sat seated watching the fight between Feng and a member of the other sect. Feng's opponent was rather buff and had a large stature. Despite his mass he didn't carry himself sluggishly.

Feng didn't seem to be paying much attention to him, he was more interested in inspecting his knives.

This made his opponent enraged.

'Hey! Look over here! Such a skinny thing they sent to fight me,' he cackled.

He turned his head to look at his sect members and so he didn't see the breaking of the force field that kept them from each other.

Feng rushed forward in a burst of speed and Frost Fighters Sect members tried to warn their sectmate but it was too late.

Just as he turned around, Feng used his knife and slashed the sleeve of the opponent, ripping through his clothes and skin.

He screamed out in pain and Xueyu smirked.

There weren't any official rules for weapons so Xueyu had fused her Scarlet Flame with Feng's knives. Whenever someone got cut they would feel the same phantom burning sensation that Qui Yang had felt when he first met Xueyu.

The Frost Fighters Sect looked around in confusion. Xiang was the best at pain tolerance so to see him screaming was a shocker.

How strong was Shadow Sect really?

Feng didn't stop just there. He bounced around on the balls of his feet, flitting all around Xiang. He was so fast that even his feet couldn't be spotted in the blur of limbs.

Xiang moved from side to side trying to evade Feng and get away from the knife that he held. Feng didn't relent.

He kept slashing all over until Qui Yang subtly nodded at him. Only then did he stop and retreat to his staring position.

Like before his face was focused on his knives and he took outa pristine white cloth and started to clean them.

The same red flag that had been waved from before to start the fight was waved again and the winner was announced.

It wasn't a surprise after watching the short battle.

'Shadow Sect!'

The sound of rushing feet could've been heard as a few Sect members rushed to help Xiang who was still clutching his wound with a face twisted in pain.

They crowded around him until Huang Chen provocatively called out.

'Clear the grounds for the next match!'

Jiao who was sitting close by to Xueyu could only look at the old man in shock.

'He's terrible,' he exclaimed with a hidden smile.
