Quite a charming name

"But you will answer my questions after this, okay?" Meilin said.

"Of course! I will never break a promise," it says.

Lu Meilin is not stupid enough to let some strange things to be out of her hands. She ran back to her desk and grab all of her things and just put all of it inside her bag. After locking the door she immediately decided to walk home.

While Lu Meilin walks, she talks to the book telepathically.

"So, tell me, do you have a name?"

"I do have one. The higher-ups gave me the name of Liu Jie," it answered honestly. The book won't lie to her because she was the only person who can help him. The spell she will chant needs another party in order to do this.

"Higher-ups? Like a company with CEO, manager and such?"

"Yes. We have a system, and all the higher-ups decide what will be our names."

"It's quite a charming name, Liu Jie," she complimented, "How did you get in this book? And what really are you?" Lu Meilin asked with deep curiosity. It's not like you can talk to a book every day, she thought.

"It was more like I was forced in this book. I've been trapped in here for at least three thousand years! I've been doing all kinds of spell casting I know, but freedom is to no avail," Meilin can hear the sadness in his voice.

But three thousand years?! "Then, if I let you free wouldn't you die? I've read many stories about spirits who dies immediately because of the time that has passed!"

"I'm not even a human spirit. I'm a deity's general, like an angel. We are servants of a deity, so we are no immortal but we are also not like mortals," Liu Jie answered, "Only a deity can kill people like me. Swords, poisons and even sickness won't kill me, but can still make me weak."

"You said deity, like the God in the bible?"

"God is no different to the Only One. I will tell you more about the Only One once you free me."

"But why should I free you? If you're trapped inside unwillingly, there must be a reason why. Like a criminal getting jailed because of his disobeying of human law." Lu Meilin asked this question as if it was the last question in a quiz show. Wherein, once you fail to answer you will die!

"I am not a criminal! I, Liu Jie, lived his life in utmost respect, honest and obeys the grand laws of the system! All I can remember for now is that I'm headed on a mission granted by one of the deities but a lightning struck me, although it shouldn't take any effect, it still made me numb and weaken. When I wake up I'm already trapped in this book," he told like a witness telling a crime scene, "I've been stuck in different shelves and boxes for thousands of years but this is my first time that I was able to communicate to another person."

Lu Meilin can't help but tap the book like she was tapping its shoulders, "I will do my best in order to free you there!"

Liu Jie felt tingling warmth inside him. He silently thanks his current form being a book now because he can feel a slight heat creeping in his cheeks, "Thank you!"

Lu Meilin on the other hand is still excited and nervous as she sees the block near her apartment. Her heart is skipping beats with a fine tune of music. She is delighted that her head is lightheaded. She does not know if it was the rush or just the hard day piling up inside her. Anyways, Meilin immediately run towards her apartment door and locked it.

Even Liu Jie is excited and nervous. Meilin choose to put it first on the table before performing whatever the Liu Jie asked.

"First, get a living sacrifice."
