Tower

The pitch-black man turned his face towards Long Xiuying. His face was blanked with only black. There was no eyes, nose, or mouth to be seen.

The silhouette of the man swung Long Xiuying. Long Xiuying quickly evaded the red knife with somewhat relevant ease.

Long Xiuying countered attack launching the black man through the wall.

Long Xiuying ran next to the brown hair girl and quickly grabbed her hands and ran out of the house.

"What was that thing?" Long Xiuying felt nervous about it. When he kicked it, his leg went numb for a second. Its physical base was perhaps copper.

"I- I do not know" The girl stuttered. Long Xiuying was annoyed that she did not give an appropriate answer, but said nothing. His realized that this place was dangerous after all. From behind, the mindless man chased him.

The danger was even grimmer as the noise attracted more of those mindless people towards him. Long Xiuling was now surrounded from all direction. He can see that they were at least six.

"I guess it is time to test out that theory" Long Xiuying opened up his link storage equipped the pelt of the white bear king. When he donned on the pelt of the white bear king, a pressure rolled out that was similar to the final stage of qi condensation.

Long Xiuying could feel the spiritual energy coursing through him as he breaks through to the final stage of qi condensation. Although the spiritual energy was less refined compared to the spiritual energy coming from the Prime Sovereign's Shadow.

He was reluctant to try it on before because it will be a waste that if the spiritual energy from the pelt would leak. But now, he does not have to worry.

There was no energy leakage as far as he can tell.

At least this way, the curse will not activate if the spiritual energy is coming from an item.

Long Xiuying had found a loophole against the ritual curse. Until he either kill his brother or found someone proficient with curses to break it, this will have to do.

The girl could feel an incredible amount of pressure coming from the skinny man before him. She thought he was just a beggar.

Now, she felt like he was like those soldiers that came before, and felt safer. She was reminded of how they saved her life before they disappeared.

"Girl, go hide in the corner. I handle this quickly." He took out the decaying bone sword. He ran forward slashing a pitch- black person.

However the more noise he made, the more it attracted the other mindless people until a horde of them came at him.

None the less, he continued to attack with speed and veracity like a catapult. His eyes turned red with great killing intent.

One down, then two, and then many fell before them.

With every strike, his enemies fall. It was like he was a tornado. The shrieked of the falling screamed out as more of the pitch-black people ran towards the noise. For the past days, he witness the Prime Sovereign's Shadow savageness and unconsciously incorporated into his own technique.

Ten came clawing at him. Fifteen came biting. Until he was swarmed by hundreds. He did not panic as black blood sprayed into the sand with each slash. His physical base was now copper when he donned the pelt. But it was not enough. He took out three cores and immediately absorbed it.

He broke through to the Absolute qi condensation. The wind along with the sand swirled like a relentless tornado. By using the core, he can feel the ritual activating.

He slaughtered everything as fast as he can. With one punch, he obliterated two. With one swing, he cut down three.

By the time he dropped from absolute qi condensation back to final qi condensation, there were only five left. He quickly cleared them leaving only behind black corpses.

The girl hiding behind a box was left flabbergasted. That man did something that none of the soldiers did.

She watched the man before standing underneath the corpses and river of black blood as the once white pelt was now covered in black swayed in the wind.

When he turned to her, she could not help but admired him that she blushed.

"Let's get going, we have to get out of here." He picked her up like a rice bag and dashed towards the fog.

She was embarrassed but did not say anything.

Seeing where Long Xiuying trying to leave through the fog, she suddenly called out to him. "Wait, that won't work! If you try to go out, it will attack you."

Long Xiuying immediately stopped after she warned him with only inches away from the fog.

"What do you mean?"

"I saw it before. If you try to touch it, hands of fog will attack you and drag you inside the fog."

"Then how do we get out?" Long Xiuying was once a cultivators that had surpassed the foundation stage long ago, but he did not study much on spell formation. He was clueless about the danger of spell formation, especially bizarre one like this.

"I heard that some soldier was able to leave, but I'm not sure how. But, I did see many of them marched to there." The girl pointed at the tallest tower. The rectangularly shaped tower was so tall that it reached beyond the fog.

"I see. Let's go."
