Is He a Hidden Expert

Long Xiuying landed on the ground with a boomed that erupted the sands from below. Not only the sleek armor was tough, it was also heavy. However, to Long Xiuying, it felt like it was about less than half its weight due to his physical base, which was now copper.

Having a physical base of copper were similar to having five adults who were power-lifters.

Long Xiuying wanted to wait for his shadow to finish killing the queen ant but decided the current situation required precedence. The Prime Sovereign's Shadow had the advantage and the battle was coming to a closed. Long Xiuying decided that it was unnecessary to have his attention on his shadow for the time being.

Besides, something was happening within the tower, and he felt that if he does not act soon, a calamity will soon fall upon him.

Long Xiuying honestly believed the girl was a hindrance, but he could not abandon her to her demise. If she died on her way within Long Xiuying sight, he would not feel guilty about it as he tried what he could. If he were to leave her alone, it will sow bad karma someday.

He was no hero of justice that sacrifice himself for another. He had things to finish before he could give up on his life.

Those mindless people who were nearby Long Xiuying when he dropped, stopped and leaped towards the noise. Those pitch-black people who were closer to the tower ignored it and continued to swarm inside the entrance.

"Wha-What are you doing?" The girl muttered with freight.

"Trust me I know what I am doing." Long Xiuying said with confident but in all honesty, he was just winging it. His plans were to survive until the Prime Sovereign's Shadow kill the Elite Ant Queen, and to see the that the tower could be a way for him to leave this place.

He was making a gamble, but that's the kind of personality he has. The future is filled with unknowns, and the longer one stood still, the more variables will change over time. Another word, If the situation cannot be accurately predicted than open up another variable that he could be a part of and can control.

Someone important left him with this saying. That someone was the person who challenged him to be a genius within his clan.

This was the reason why he does not fear his brother growing stronger than him, or his parents trying to kill him, or the ritual that sealed his cultivation. Because in the end, he will survive so the future he sees is when the entire clan burns to the ground. He was confident about his ability but in the eyes of others, it was an overflowing arrogance. But in the end, this mentality was what made him a stand out.

To be cautious when the situation is predictable, and to be reckless when it is not.

This was one of those time that the situation was getting out of hand and Long Xiuying decided to take action.

As for the pitch-black people who were surrounding Long Xiuying, he charged through them with great speed as he kicked on the ground beneath him. With the girl on his arm, he leaped passed many of the swarm and into the tower.

Outside of the tower, another wail can be heard throughout the town that came with another layer of dense fog. What could be seen inside the fog was faces of men, women, and children crying as they begged to be free. The fog swept through the area until it hit the edge of the town and it dissipated leaving behind black blotches.

Those black blotches soon collated into thousands of mindless pitch-black people.

Inside the tower, the swarm that had entered the entrance was now nothing more than a stream of floating ribbons. Those streams of ribbon flew around Long Xiuying and rose towards the top of the tower like a reverse waterfall.

Long Xiuying signed with relieved. He was willing to go all out against them, even using his cores, but the situation did not call for it.

The Long Xiuying placed the girl down and headed towards the spiral stairs.

"What is happening here?" The girl asked.

"I'm not sure. I never saw something so peculiar before. This is not a simple spell formation." Long Xiuying reached out his hand to grab onto the black ribbon, but it floated around him like silk. Given his cultivation base was at the level of mortal, he could not sense anything from it.

"Mister?!" The girl yelp when she saw her shadow was forming beside her. The shadow was similar to her appearance, but the white of her eyes was black, and the skin was deathly pale in comparison.

Long Xiuying quickly try to grab the girl, but it was too late. The shadow of the girl dragged her real self to the ground. The girl and the shadow were no more as they disappeared without a trace.

Underneath the mask, Long Xiuying gave a grim expression. Under the tense that the same thing could happen to him, he swiftly turned his head to check if anything was behind him.

He calmed a bit when he saw nothing. He could not do anything for the girl but he did have not the need to mourn for her. He will continue on his own.

With his Chaotic Insect Armor active, his physical base was in the copper stage and he was able to resist any physical attack under the strength of iron stage.

Once his shadow was done battling the queen ant, he will be able to use the equipment since he was not able to forcefully unequipped his shadow equipment mid-battle.

Long Xiuying climbed to what it seemed like endless amounts of stairs and he still could not see the top or a door anywhere.

After climbing more stairs, his expression flickered as the pressure of someone in the foundation stage filled the area.

At that moment, a screamed of someone in anguished echoed throughout the tower. It sounded similar to the wail he heard outside, yet, different.

There was a room close to Long Xiuying, but he hesitated to enter.

Before he decides on what to do next, he checked on the Prime Sovereign's Shadow and he saw that the Queen Ant was shrieking in pain before it collapses. The shadow had just won the battle and when he saw the items that dropped, he decided to enter the room with confidence.

Inside the foggy room, a worn-out man with blood and scratches all over was chained to the wall. He emitted the pressure of those who were in the foundation stage, but he was getting weaker by the second.

Next to the dying man, there was a dead woman who was chained with a hole on her lower abdominal like someone reached their hand inside and yanked something out.

"Who are you? ANSWER ME!" The pressure increased drastically for a second before dropping back down lower than ever as the dying man yelled in anger.

"How many time you asked that question already, General Wu Xinyi?" An inhuman entity appeared in front of him snickering at the dying man. His eyes were black with no white to be seen, he had no tongue but was still be able to vocalize his voice clearly. Even more so, he had three shadows on the floor that moved like it had a mind of its own.

"I give you a clue…" From his storage ring, he manifested a small dull emblem that had decayed through time.

"You are an exile." The Wu Xinyi instantly recognize the emblem. It was one of the clans emblems that belonged to those who were exiled to the abandon continents to suffer long ago.

"Hahaha, You do have eyes." He laughed as he was glad someone was able to recognize it. "You are right, your so call celestial ancestors that y'all worship banish my clan." In a flash, the gleeful expression vanished into a melancholic look. "After the clan was exiled, my father died trying to restore peace between the people of his clan, but it was for naught. He tried so hard because he wanted to bring hope. He sacrificed his legs and arms to give hope to his people, to his bloodline. But you know what they did!? They betrayed my father, they blamed him for their situation. And you know what it made it worse, while he sacrificed himself to help the clan, the others fought and fought and fought and fought again and again!

The inhuman erupted with black spiritual energy that caused the fog to be pushed onto the wall. The pressure that came from the demon in front of him made the General Wu Xinyi foundation spiritual energy feel like a feather in comparison. His volume grew in more in intensity as well as his madness.

"They fought amongst themselves until their resources dried up. Then they have the audacity to pin my blame my father for their situation. Not only they mercilessly killed him, they hang his corpse to the public so he can be humiliated. So, in the end, I made a deal with the Abyss walkers and they gave me the power to slaughter everyone. Man, woman, children, and even the patriarch who ignored the situation. I wiped out my own clan and, in the end, I will do the same to the descendant of celestial ancestors."

The crazed demon send a dark pellet from his palm into the general shoulder.

"Arghhhhh!" He howled in pain.

Abruptly, the demon stopped and turned his head to the footstep that was coming from outside the room. The demon could not sense any spiritual energy and for anybody to have the chance to reach up here, they would have to reach the foundation stage.

The fog made way as a person who was in a sleek black armor with a mask that looked similar to an insect.

'Is he a mortal?' Just by scanning him with his spiritual energy, he was everything he expected for a mortal. It was trying to using his spiritual energy to see if the rock was a cultivator. It was the same for the mysterious knight in front of him. There was nothing.

'To be able to hide his energy that deep? A hidden expert that is beyond me?' The demon subconsciously took a step back. He was anxious because he could not gauge his strength. He was either a mortal or someone that was greater than him. Not even someone in the core stage could hide his spiritual energy completely. This made the demon ever so cautious.
