Luo Herb Emporium

Bai Hao walked through the city, looking around for a good place to sell his healing salve. Others in this situation might have set up a market stall to peddle their goods themselves, however Bai Hao knew that he did not have enough time and did not have the skill to sell the salves by himself. While the original Bai Hao had lived his entire live in black turtle city, he never had a need to set up a shop. Back when his parents were still alive he spend most of his time in school and after they were gone he dropped out of school and spend all his time drinking and hanging out at the various improper establishments throughout the city, his knowledge on where you would be served by the best girls in the city, or where to get the cheapest alcohol was almost unrivaled, however his information on medicine stores was severely lacking. Asking for directions from a passerby he was told that the best place for any supplies for the wildlands would have to be Green Cloud Pavilion and after arriving in front of the store, he found out why. Green Cloud Pavilion was a massive white marbled building with big pillars extended from the roof carved with beautiful statues of warriors and maidens, a big sign adorned the entrance to the building on which was written in the most exquisite calligraphy "Preparation is the key to success". The building was in a prime location in the most expensive part of the city, right next to one of the biggest squares and as such it was incredibly busy. A constant stream of people entered and left the building, with guards on either side of the door keeping the order. Green Cloud Pavilion had 3 floors, each full of stores that sold various items necessary for adventurers and cultivators preparing to enter the wild forests of the wildlands, anything from awe-inspiring flying swords to basic supplies could be found on the various counters. The Pavilion was not a store in the traditional sense, instead it consisted of many smaller counters and stores that could be rented by the various merchants. The Pavilion itself guaranteed the quality of the products sold in the building and made its money from charging rent from the various merchants. Because of the popularity and reputation that Green Cloud Pavilion enjoyed, they were rather selective with whom was allowed set up a shop and as such only the best merchants were able to rent a counter.

Bai Hao was completely overwhelmed after walking through the doors, "Are those spirit swords they are selling" Gaping at a large shop that was selling various weapons and armor that gave off a sense of raw power and sharpness, walking past the various store front, Bai Hao was astonished time after time, "GASP is that an iron eagle spirit beast", Bai Hao was so astonished at the variety of items that were being sold that he almost stopped in the middle of the crowd, he was immediately pushed in the back by the people behind him while someone shouted at him to get moving. Pulling himself together he decided he would have time to check out the rest of the pavilion later, he first had to sell his medicine. Walking over to the medicine section of the pavilion, he found over 50 different counters and smalls stores peddling medicine. Bai Hao walked up to one of the bigger counters and motioned for one of the store clerks. The store clerk took one look at Bai Hao and seeing his bedraggled appearance, cheap clothes and dirty face concluded that Bai Hao was only here to create problems. Frowning the store clerk walked over to Bai Hao, "Get out of here, we don't serve your kind at this establishment. You are scaring away my other customers with that look of yours. Don't act as if you have the money to buy anything here when you can't even afford proper clothes". Bai Hao was so surprised at the way he was treated, he was unable to respond immediately and once he had sorted out on how to respond to that the clerk had already turned around and completely ignored him. "I was just here to sell my healing salve, if you want to bully me then don't blame me for taking my business elsewhere" Bai Hao angrily walked away. Looking around, he decided on another store however upon approaching the counter, the store owner didn't even so much as look at him, completely ignoring Bai Hao's existence as he helped other customers. Trying store after store, he found himself getting angrier and angrier after each rejection. "FUDGE, you guys are all bullies, I'm going to make you regret treating me like this" he said to himself. "Slowly Bai Hao's anger was replaced with anxiety and worry, he might have succeeded in concocting his healing salve however if he was unable to sell it, he would be completely broke. Finally turning around a corner, he saw a small shop, barely larger than a closet. Above the counter hung a sign on which was written "Luo Herb Emporium" in grand characters. The counter was manned by an old man with grey hair dozing off on a chair with his elbows on the counter. While other herb shops looked grandiose and would receive a steady stream of customers, this herb shop stuck out like a sore thumb, not only did it not have a single customer lined up, the shelves in the small store were full of dust, and the various herbs were haphazardly thrown on the shelves without caring about the presentation. How this merchant was able to rent a shop with the strict quality control that was in place to protect the reputation of Green Cloud Pavilion was a mystery to Bai Hao. He was just about to walk past the store, when he thought "Might as well give it a try, at most I will just walk away "

"Sorry sir, I would like to sell some healing salve" Bai Hao said while standing at the counter. "G-R-R-R-RRRR-P-H" a loud snoring came in response. "Sir, I'd like to sell something" Bai Hao tried again a little bit louder this time. "Gr-r-rmmmmphggg" the old man was still fast asleep with no signs of waking. Getting irritated, Bai Hao decided to throw caution out of the window "WAKE UP YOU OLD GRANDPA" he shouted at the top of his lungs, many people looked over at the loud shouting before turning back to what they were doing. "Huh, what, who?" the old man shot up his eyes darting around as the sound assaulted his ears.

"Sorry grandpa, you were sleeping, and I would like to sell something." Bai Hao said. The old mans' eyes focused on Bai Hai. Bai Hao was fully prepared to be rejected again however contrary to the other shopkeepers, the eyes of the old man did not betray any sign of disgust or contempt at Bai Hao's appearance. Instead a friendly look could be seen in his eyes "What can I help you with". Bai Hao, happy that someone finally was willing to hear him out rushed to take out the 6 jars of healing salve from his bag and put them on the counter, "I would like to sell some healing salves I have created". A hint of curiosity could be seen in the old man's eyes as he took a whiff of the healing salve, taking out a few tools that were used in determining the use of medicine and pills he took a few minutes to determine the efficacy of the salve, "low level healing salve made from blood grass, I can give you 15 coppers per healing salve" the old man offered. "You know as well as I do that this salve is much better than the normal low-level healing salves and that it has almost no side-effects, I won't take any less than 40 for them" Bai Hao responded. The old man and Bai Hao spend the next 10 minutes haggling until they settled on 23 coppers per healing salve. Satisfied, Bai Hao walked away with 1 silver and 38 coppers in his pocket. He didn't however see the smile on the old man's face as he looked at Bai Hao walking away, the old man looked at Bai Hao as an elder would proudly look upon someone of the junior generation with good potential.
