What An Ending

The Empress Dowager clapped her hands enthusiastically, "Beautiful! Aja has never seen such a charming dance before!"

Her old eyes sneaked a look at Hu Feng's reaction. Don't mention males, but even the females were charmed by Ye Yue tonight! Yet to her disappointment, Hu Feng had no reaction at all. His was still immovable as ever. Her eyes then moved to Mu Qing.

Her voice was warm and friendly, "Qing'er isn't Yue'er a great dancer? How about we give her an award."

The young Empress agreed, "Miss Yue is indeed talented! If there's anything you would like please let me know."

The old fox was very happy. After all, Ye Yue was her great niece and Mu Qing took the bait. On the other side, Mu Qing did not feel troubled at all. One has to give credit where credit is due, and Ye Yue had perform spectacularly.

The wonderful dancer bowed shyly, "Ye Yue thanks Great Imperial aunt and the Empress. Yu-Yue'er does not deserve such a praise." Her cheeks turned a light pink.

"Nonsense! Aja will be angry if you do not take this chance," the graceful old woman turned to the Empress, "How about this Qing'er, Aja thinks Yue'er should have a tea party later in the palace. This will give this bashful child a chance to think about what she would like."

Mu Qing could easily see the through the layers of sugar coated words, however she doesn't mind the schemes at all. It would be too boring if life was too easy. This was much more fun and exciting, and if anything happens, doesn't she, the Empress, have the biggest support there is? This was the true privilege of marrying a man such as Hu Feng.

"I-I don't dare to." Ye Yue suddenly shout.

Minister Ye held her back, "Haha...This child is too shy. Our family would be honored."

"Hmm...Then the tea party shall be held the day after tomorrow," the Empress's answer was very mild.

All the nobles looked Minister Ye in envy, and their daughters looked at Ye Yue full of hate. Who could not see this was a big chance to see the Emperor in private? If one was lucky, the Emperor might even take notice of them.

The former silent Yu Chun suddenly stood up, "Senior brother! Chun'er would also like to perform a dance for your birthday!"

She moved graceful to the middle of the hall, as the Ye family sent back to their seats. Hu Feng glanced down at Mu Qing, and her eyes seemed to smile at him. Her small fingers squeezed his in approval. She really hopes Hu Feng would let her see a good clown show today!

"Go ahead."

A sweet spring breeze chased away all the bitterness in Yu Chun's heart. She knew he would look at her.

A fierce and tense song played as Yu Chun's hands held the two long sword. Her nimble body twisted and turned. The swords made a 'sha-sha' sound as it collided with the air. Compared to Ye Yue's petal dance, Yu Chun's was more of a summer storm. While it was not as graceful, Yu Chun did have some merits of a princess. The song faded it out, and Yu Chun smiled alluringly. The hall mildly clapped their hands.

"Did you enjoy it Senior brother?"

His face was set in stone, and there was no sign of a response from him. Instead, Hu Feng waited for Mu Qing to answer.

"Princess Yu is very good! Compared to Miss Yue it seems a bit lacking, but it was quite exciting," Mu Qing told the truth.

Yu Chun face turned red in anger, and her eyes could kill Mu Qing on the spot.

"Ah, I did not know that the Empress also has the the title of Emperor. I also did not know that the Empress was an expert in dance. Perhaps you could give as a performance to celebrate Senior brother's birthday," the sneer was laced with malice.

Mu Qing was about to answer when she suddenly felt a pair of cold lips on the back of her hand. Her eyes widen in surprise as she stared in shock at Hu Feng. Her hand was tightly in his grasp and lifted to his mouth. This was too sudden of a development!

"No need."

Hu Feng stood up and tugged Mu Qing along with him. The royal couple left, while the whole hall was completely stunned by the sudden event. Yu Chun could not believe her eyes, and she stood there still as stone. Just like that, the banquet came to a halting end.
