The boys again entered into a routine of training everyday. They continued to work on and push themselves. Each of them had their own trials and struggles as they neared the final test. Hitman Bang announced to the boys that there would be a final test and those that passed would become the official group that would debut next year. The boys began working fervently towards being able to debut.
There was a surge of new recruits that had been training in Big Hit Academy who also had the opportunity to get into the team, so the boys worked twice as hard to retain their places. Seokjin and Hyosang trained together, both of them training at other Academies simultaneously. Seokjin was still studying to be an Illusionist as well, but he placed a lot of importance in training as an Eidos. He was growing a lot as a Spirit Caller and, although he still had a long way to go, because of his large amounts of effort and hardwork, he was slowly becoming more accustomed with the Battle Mage fighting style. Hyosang was growing as an Adept, but he began to focus more of his time and efforts towards his external study. Although most of the others assumed Hyosang was improving alongside everyone, Seokjin was the only one that knew that he had met a wall in terms of his growth. Hyosang had told him that he wasn't sure if he could grow anymore at Big Hit.
Seokjin was also consistently blown away by the perseverance of Jimin. Jimin had been living in the Battle Mage's training area. He had been doubting himself as he was the last one to join, so he trained the shortest time here at Big Hit, and he felt that he had a lot to make up for. So he had been brutally training himself, locking himself in the Battle Mage training area and pushing himself, honing his craft and his skills. Trying to get better in every way. The boys could always see him training til the late hours in the night and he was still training when they came back the next day.
Taehyung and Hoseok were switching things up. Taehyung approached Hoseok to ask him something.
"Hoseok hyung, I wanted to ask you something."
Hoseok nodded happily, always willing to help his dongsaengs. Taehyung fidgeted as he looked at the ground nervously.
"I know that you are training to be a Spirit Caller, and you have been training for a while. I have been training towards being a Magic-Channeller. But I don't think I'm suited for it. As a kid, I always wanted to be a Spirit Caller, but I wasn't able to previously. But here, I can. I know I can. But because of the team balance, if I become a Spirit Caller, the team Magic-Channeller to Spirit Caller ratio will be off."
Taehyung went quiet, hesitating. He tried his best to muster up the courage to ask. He knew this was selfish, but it was his dream and he wanted it to be a reality. Hoseok saw the conflict within Taehyung and smiled. He could guess what he wanted to ask.
"OK. I know a little about Magic-Channelling from living with the others for so long. Pursue your dream, Tae."
Taehyung looked up at the smiling Hoseok. A grin appeared on his face as his eyes lit up. Tears of gratitude well in his eyes, but wouldn't let them fall. He breathed in to calm himself as he bowed sincerely.
"Thank you, hyungnim."
Taehyung gratefully began to train as a Spirit Caller, which he had a lot of potential in. He worked hard to catch up to the others as a Spirit Caller as well as a Battle Mage. Doing all he could to improve and better himself. Hoseok was still the strongest Battle Mage on the team, but he still did his best to improve and better himself, while also strengthening and guiding the team. He spent a lot of time building and shaping the other members as Battle Mages. He was an indispensable part of the team. But he understood his weakness in terms of Magic-Channelling. Although he had tried things here and there with the others, he still wasn't on the same level as them. The other Magic-Channellers in the group were all Underground Magic-Channellers and had been doing this for a long time. Hoseok spent a lot of time learning all he could from Namjoon and Yoongi.
Jungkook decided to take Jimin's words to heart and pursue being an Eidos. He was slowly gaining confidence by being around his hyungs, he knew that his potential and growth would be limitless if he stayed with them. He began to appreciate the team more, grateful for their input in making him stronger, and for just being there for him. He felt complete with his hyungs who were all sowing into him and getting him to come out of his shell. He saw them as his true brothers, so he worked hard, not just for his dream, but also for theirs.
Yoongi was growing exponentially as a Power Designer and a Magic-Channeller. He was consistently making strides forward in these areas. But he was having trouble with the Battle Mage fighting style. As his shoulder hadn't healed properly, it had restricted and limited his movements and he wasn't able to fight properly. Due to him no longer being able to move much, he stopped working out and began to pose weight. A Battle Mage style he had gotten comfortable using, he now had to give up as his shoulder wouldn't allow him to do some of the moves. He had to completely change his style of fighting to accommodate for the injury. He wouldn't let it stop him or restrict him from being in the team and fighting with his all, so he quietly improved as much as he could.
Namjoon was in a strange position. In the team, he was the only confirmed member. The final test would determine the final choice for the team. Even though he was already confirmed, this didn't stop him from meticulously preparing himself, pushing himself as a Magic-Channeller, a Power Designer and a Battle Mage. He was struggling as a Battle Mage but he was putting in the time to improve bit by bit. He and Seokjin were unspoken rivals as they pushed each other to grow. Namjoon also invested a lot of his time in helping to shape and mould his members. He greatly cared for them, not just as a leader, but as a brother. He wanted to see them all grow into their potential.
With everyone doing their best to grow and improve, Hitman Bang watched over them all. He was pleased with how everyone was not only growing as individuals, but also as an overall unit. They were becoming extremely cohesive as a team and Hitman Bang was hopeful and optimistic of their futures. He grinned.
"Let's see how much they have grown. Time for the final exam."
