Ashton Village

In the heart of a vast and gloomy forest of tall trees called the Silent Moon Forest, where sunlight never dared to penetrate and moonlight barely penetrated, a small wooden village known as Ashton Village was built.

A village inhabited by a very ancient and mysterious race called the blood race, beings that, at first glance, resemble vampires.

The Silent Moon Forest was so dense that even the brightest rays of the sun could barely filter through the treetops, creating an eerie and gloomy atmosphere. However, at night, under the silver light of the moon, the Silent Moon Forest came to life extraordinarily and frighteningly.

The houses of the village's inhabitants were built with old tree trunks and covered in moss, camouflaging themselves perfectly with the natural environment. Around the village, a large wall of sharp, standing trunks protects the inhabitants from possible invasions.

The winding roads were lit by torches lit using a luminous resin found only in the forest.

As night fell, the village began to wake up.

The houses lit up with a weak and frightening light, and the residents came out of their homes ready to start their nightly activities, protecting the village from the creatures that inhabit the Silent Moon Forest.

Unlike vampires, the blood race does not need to feed on blood, instead, they obtain energy by absorbing the blood of their injured or dead prey.

Thus, in various parts of the village, NPCs of the blood race drag giant creatures into their homes.

About five glows of light appear in the central square before taking the form of other members of the blood race, unlike the others in the village, they had cheap cloth clothes and a dagger hanging from their waist. They were players, the NPCs had more sophisticated and expensive clothes.

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" They all reveal expressions of shock and disbelief as they look at the scene before them.

Not even in their dreams would the world inside the game be so real.

(Technology has improved so much that it is now possible to create a world that is completely virtual, yet so real.) That was the thought of the five newcomers when they saw the images in front of them.

To test that they weren't just dreaming, they pinch themselves, and others open the configuration panels and log off before returning again to discover that it is not a dream.

The scenes before them are real.

Lin Yun followed the first steps that every MMO player does, opening the statistics window to see the character's information.

Race Skill

Universal Blood (Passive)(Level 1): Absorbs the blood of injured opponents to heal one's own injuries. Heals 1% of damage dealt.

Blood Conversion (Passive)(Max Level): Reduces MP to 0 (zero) and increases HP by 15% of the converted value. The user will spend HP as a resource to activate skills.

Skill

None

The initial status points vary according to the chosen race, humans, for example, have five points in each of the attributes.

The only exception is LUCKY, as it is the attribute that starts with zero and the player can gain this attribute by doing legendary quests or by ingesting a rare item capable of increasing this attribute. The effects are the same as the name, it increases the luck of drops from defeated creatures, increases the chances of forging items or rarer attributes appearing, and among other things related to luck.

The blood race's race skill makes the character without MP, on the other hand, it drastically increases HP to be used in place of MP when activating abilities, and also heal when injuring targets.

Basically, it's a race that's a little complicated to use, depending on the class the player chooses.

Why would Lin Yun choose this specific race?

Inventory

Common Bread (10): When consumed, recovers 20 hunger points.

Bottle of Water(1): When ingested, it relieves the feeling of thirst.

The inventory had only two basic items, bread and water, ten of each.

"It's a good start" Lin Yun closed the information and walked in a certain direction.

As a restriction for new players, the young man would have to stay within the small village for a week to learn more about the game and get used to the character's movements.

Due to habits of playing old MMORPGs and recommendations from game veterans, Lin Yun headed towards the village's training ground, where newcomers train to learn how to control the movements and attacks of the character they created.

Following the instructions on the map, Lin Yun walked calmly while looking at the houses partially lit by the faint fire.

(This place has an eerie feel to it. It feels like a village from a horror movie. If I hadn't known it was a game, I would have run as fast as I could into the forest and been killed by the creatures that inhabit it.) He thought, almost regretting it. Choose this race to start the game.

Unlike the other two relatively big starting cities with the capacity to support several million players, Ashton Village was relatively smaller, much smaller. The number of players walking around was so few that it could be counted slowly as he walked.

Typically, players prefer big cities to have more chances of receiving quests and making connections with other players. Small villages were only for the more solitary players who don't like crowds.

The beginners' training area was a small square field with several small squares drawn inside, about a meter in diameter, each had a straw man in the center for those who wanted to test hand-to-hand combat, and those who liked long-range fighting should not have chosen Ashton Village because it did not have a shooting range, so they had to improvise when using the common training ground, but it was only possible to use physical attacks using weapons or fists, there was no place to use magical attacks.

Unlike training camps in big cities, Ashton Village didn't have an instructor to help or give any quests to the players.

On the training ground, only about three players have seen training with the dagger or have switched to a sword. Each player was trying to hit the straw targets.

Lin Yun walked towards a small wooden table, which contained several different weapons.

One- or two-handed swords, daggers, bows, shotguns, spears, claws, brass knuckles, crossbows, double swords, and among other varied types of weapons.

Lin Yun had already decided to be a close combat type and had no doubts about which of the weapons he would choose.

The hand was directed to a pair of common cloth gloves with two metal pins on the two largest fingers, the index, and the middle.

"You received: Gloves"

Gloves: An ordinary pair of gloves made of cloth.
