The Devilish Training

"WHAT!?" I shouted in disbelief

"This is impossible! The mountain is too tall!?"

"How would I even go about climbing this?"

"You just climb it." Reborn said in a straightforward manner.

My mind went blank from Reborn being so straightforward since I couldn't see any way that I could climb this with my bare hands.

However, since I came here to train already.

I must complete it!

I looked at Reborn and said

"Do you truly believe I can do it?"

"Only if you tried." Reborn replied.

Hearing what Reborn said strangely gave me a feeling of assurance.

"Alright..."

"I'll trust you."

With that bit of determination I finally took the first step in climbing this mountain.

However , it seems as if the rocks could not handle the sheer force of my weight.

It got incredibly shaky and brittle as if it was going to break soon.

It was my first time climbing a mountain in both of my lives.

I started to feel really paranoid.

What if I fall?

Would I die?

What would happen if I die?

However , if I don't climb it I will still die either way from the danger I might receive in the future.

I already made up my mind to get stronger , If I can't handle this obstacle how am I gonna face myself in the future!?

This won't stop me!

However , the toll of climbing mountain has finally gotten to me. The concentration has left me mentally exhausted.

My muscles were screaming in agony. When I looked down to see my progress, I was already one quarter done. After trying to grab onto the next rock , my arm gave up on me. Next thing I knew,

I was falling.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH"

As I was falling down, I looked to Reborn to see if he would save me. He didn't. Instead, he threw a huge rock at the part of the river I was about to fall in. I fell in the river and immediately floated back up. When I floated back up, I remembered that this is just training and that I couldn't die.

Reborn looked at my pale face and gave out a sigh before saying

"Let's take a break for now."

"The first round is for you to develop physical and mental endurance and to give you a taste of what you're in for."

"This is just the beginning."

During the break

While I was waiting for my clothes to dry up , I was camping by the fire that Reborn set up for us.

However, situation at the moment seems really tense as both of us were staying silent.

Therefore, in order to break the ice , I decided to ask something that has been on my mind for while.

"So since you are training me now , you are technically my teacher right.. ..."

"Can I call you Sensei?"

Reborn remained silent for a few moments before replying

"Whatever suits you."

Ok I broke the silence. Now time to ask him the real question.

"So Sensei, could you tell about your childhood?"

Hearing this made Reborn speechless for awhile as he was contemplating on what to say.

After staring at me for a while, Reborn said,

"The earliest thing I can remember from my childhood is watching my only friend in the slum getting shot in the back for stealing."

"Something necessary for us to survive."

"At the time, I thought I had grown used to seeing people getting killed since I was living in one of the most vile and corrupt slums in the world."

"However, when I went to his body to check, I stared in disbelief at his motionless body."

"The culprits who shot him went to me."

"The next thing I knew I was tied up and was sold off to an organisation that was known for training children to become hitman for money."

"Over there , I met a lot of kids the same age as me with much more issues."

"I thought living in the slums was bad, but those guys, they had it much worse than me."

"One of them was known as the corpse eating demon."

"The name sounds scary but he was a nice guy."

"He escaped the compound with a 2 of his friends."

"Anyways, meeting them completely changed how I saw everything."

Hearing this made me think about my life before this and how I had everything in easy mode.

"Alright break is over let's get back to training or else you won't be getting stronger anytime soon". Boy I really am lucky, to have this man as my teacher.

I swear I'll never betray his expectations.

After my clothes dried off, I returned to the mountains to continue climbing.
