Chapter 11 The Brain, the Robot, Tobias

"Look who's up", Preston heckles Tobias.

"My track record speaks for itself", Tobias jabs back.

Edgar explains to Marconi "the unrivaled and defeated king of wall ball. I don't know where he got it, but he dominated 5th grade with his skills. Even though Preston can choose where to place the ball, Tobias is a logical robot. He can create pops, rollies, sliders, cherry bombs, the rainbow king and fakeys".

Preston serves and has the ball skim the side of the wall and it bounces toward the playground. "Over", Tobias calls and its Tobias's turn to serve.

Tobias hits the ball and it bounces at the angle of incidence. Preston does a drop shot where the ball barely bounces, Tobias is right behind him and does a slider and having the ball hit the wall at a 75 degree angle it skids the wall and Preston can't run fast enough.

"Next", Tobias yells. Edgar forfeits.

"Around the world", Tobias declares. Marconi steps onto the court and not a moment to lose Tobias quickly serves to assess Marconi's skill. The ball is hit normally, like an assessment move to see power, judgement and skill.

Marconi really enjoys cherry bombs, so he calls out "cherry bomb".

Tobias sighs and does a rainbow. However he misjudged and the ball hits him on the back of the head as he tries to duck.

"Unlucky", Tobias mutters.

Preston and Edgar say "finally, you've been stopped. Nice job Marconi". Then the fifth grader that was in the bushes yells encouragement "Nice job, new kid!", then he runs off again.

Preston sighs, "if your wondering where he heads off to he has a spot where he digs. His goal is to dig to China and he's been at it since 1st grade. Last time I checked we needed a ladder to get to the bottom. Surprisingly he hasn't hit any power lines, Edgar's covering for him so he isn't in trouble with security. We all know its fruitless, but let a kid dream. He's pretty dedicated".

Tobias calls out "we got two minutes head to the door". The second tobias heads to the doors everyone starts to slowly follow him.

"Tobias is known as the clockwork, he can tell time by two ways, counting and the sun. He prefers using the sun as its more accurate, but he's generally within 2-5 minutes when it comes to time. When it comes to knowing the dates of the year and the day of the week however he's hopeless. He's woken up at 7A.M. multiple times on the weekend to head to school because he didn't know it was the weekend". Edgar and his group lead the pack and they head off to their perspective classrooms.
