Chapter 1: The Unlikely Awakening

I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. I was lying on a bed, but it wasn't my bed. The room was unfamiliar, with posters of Spider-Man and the Avengers plastered on the walls. A faint smell of cafeteria food wafted through the air, making my stomach growl with hunger.

As I sat up, a wave of dizziness washed over me. I rubbed my temples, trying to remember how I got here. The last thing I remembered was... playing video games? Yeah, I was playing Street Fighter V with my friends online. I must have fallen asleep on the couch.

But this wasn't my couch. And where was my console?

I looked around the room again, taking in the unfamiliar furniture and the window with a view of a bustling cityscape. A sign on the window read "Midtown High School". Midtown High? I'd only heard of that place from the Spider-Man movies.

Suddenly, a notification popped up in my vision, like a HUD from a video game.

Welcome, Player!

You have been transported to the Marvel Universe!

Your current location: Midtown High School, New York City

Your abilities:

Character Template Selection: You can select character templates from various fighting games to access their abilities and the move sets.

Template Slots: You have 3 available slots to store character templates.

I stared at the notification in confusion. What was going on? Was this some kind of crazy dream? But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. I had always been a huge fan of fighting games, and now I was living in a world where superheroes were real.

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. "Hey, are you okay in there? You've been out cold for hours!"

I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up, still feeling a bit dizzy. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little... disoriented."

The door opened, and a girl with short, spiky black hair and a friendly smile walked in. "Hey, I'm Gwen Stacy. I'm your classmate here at Midtown High. You're...?"

I hesitated, unsure of how to introduce myself. "I'm... uh, just a transfer student. From... out of town."

Gwen raised an eyebrow. "Well, welcome to Midtown High! We don't get many new students here. What's your name?"

I took a deep breath, trying to process everything that was happening. "I'm... Alex. Nice to meet you, Gwen."

Gwen smiled and handed me a schedule. "Well, Alex, you've got a lot to catch up on. Why don't I show you to your first class?"

As we walked out of the room, I glanced at the notification still hovering in my vision.

Character Templates Available:

Ryu (Street Fighter)

Kazuya Mishima (Tekken)

Scorpion (Mortal Kombat)

I grinned, feeling a surge of excitement. This was going to be an interesting day.

Which template should I choose?

As I walked with Gwen to my first class, I couldn't help but sneak glances at the notification hovering in my vision. The three character templates available to me were:

Ryu (Street Fighter): A master of the Ansatsuken style, Ryu is a formidable fighter with a strong sense of justice. His famous skill is the Hadouken, a concentrated blast of energy that can obliterate opponents.

Kazuya Mishima (Tekken): A ruthless and cunning fighter with a talent for manipulation, Kazuya is a force to be reckoned with. His famous skill is the Electric Wind God Fist, a devastating punch that can stun and disorient opponents.

Scorpion (Mortal Kombat): A specter seeking revenge from beyond the grave, Scorpion is a fierce and intimidating fighter. His famous skill is the "Get over here!" Spear, a grappling hook that can pull opponents in for a brutal finish.

I pondered my options as we walked through the crowded hallways of Midtown High. Each template had its unique abilities and strengths, but which one would be the best fit for me?

Gwen noticed my distraction and nudged me playfully. "Hey, you okay? You seem a little spaced out."

I smiled sheepishly. "Just a little overwhelmed, I guess. New school and all."

Gwen nodded sympathetically. "I get it. It's a lot to take in. But don't worry, I'll show you the ropes. We're almost at our first class anyway."

We turned a corner, and I spotted a group of students gathered near the entrance of a classroom. One of them caught my eye - a tall, athletic-looking guy with a confident smile.

"Who's that?" I asked Gwen, nodding towards the guy.

Gwen followed my gaze. "That's Peter Parker. He's a junior here at Midtown High. And, rumor has it, a bit of a superhero wannabe."

I raised an eyebrow. "A superhero wannabe?"

Gwen leaned in, a conspiratorial look on her face. "Well, he's always talking about how he's going to make a difference, and he's got some pretty impressive skills to back it up. But, you know, he's still just a high school student."

I watched Peter Parker, intrigued. A superhero wannabe, huh? Maybe I could learn a thing or two from him.
