What the Heck is This Guy Doing?

"We've been trying to open that big door for months! We've tried everything! How do you expect to open it?" Fairy asked

We were now walking fast towards that door that would not open. I was thinking and scanning my memories to try and figure out which door this was and how to open it.

"I've seen all the designs that my dad had for every building, bunker, hideout or warehouse that we ever had. It was part of my training as the successor of our company. I definitely must have seen this in one of the blueprints before." I explained while panting.

My body was still not use to the excessive movement that I was giving it. Man, I really need to upgrade my durability first.

Finally, we arrived at the door. It was a 5x5sqm door which was made of some sort of metal. Judging from the look of it, the door's metal was definitely not normal. It was glistening unusually and but it was black as coal.

"We've checked. It's not a metal from this world. The color and the texture is something we've never seen before." Toni said.

I walked towards it and tried to feel it. Knocking on it twice, I realized that they were definitely right. But this was somehow familiar. Where did I see this before?

Wait a minute! Isn't it that thing? That's right!

I smiled and laughed.

Everyone gave me a puzzled look.

"Did you figure something out? Grimm asked

"Grimm? Don't you remember this metal? Dad used to let us carry one of these metals. They were fist-sized back then but weighed 20kg each. This was used to train us." I said while laughing.

"A metal the size of a fist but weighed 20kg? Does something like that exist?" Fairy asked.

"It shouldn't have. But Dad found a way." I said with a smile.

"Wait… you can't mean… that's made out of THAT thing?" Grimm said with a wry smile.

"That's right! It's the strongest metal ever made!" I exclaimed.

"The strongest metal ever made?" Toni clarified.

I gave her a nod before I continued speaking. "It started many years ago. My dad invented a compound splicer and a question was thrown out. If it was possible to separate compounds, it was also possible to fuse them. Hence, they made a Fusing tool. After perfecting the device, they started to combine all known metal in the world as well as meteor rocks and other extra-terrestrial metals that the company bought." I explained.

"The result… was this!" I said while boastfully pointing at the door.

"The first ever manmade metal. It's currently the strongest metal on earth – Titan Star!"

Everyone except Grimm were dumbfounded.

"Th-Then is there any way to break it?" Fairy inquired.

"Absolutely none!" I exclaimed proudly. This was my dad's creation after all. There was even a time when we tried blasting it with a nuclear bomb in a desert and all it did was scratch the surface. That's how impenetrable this metal was!

"No wonder we couldn't destroy the door. None of our methods worked." Kaizer said as he pondered.

"Destroy? I shook my head as I said this.

"My father would never put a door that can't be opened. We just have to look at it in a different angle." I explained.

"We already tried everything and searched from all its corners!" Toni said.

"All its corners?" I tried to ask just to makes sure.

"Yes!" All of them exclaimed.

"Grimm… This is dad we're talking about. He was a genius. He'd make sure that only we could find it." I told Grimm.

"So you need to be someone from our family to find the knob of this thing?" Grimm said.

"Exactly…" I answered him.

I then approached the door and placed my ear on the wall to listen. I could hear clicking and soft beeping noises from inside the door. Just as I thought. This is an automated door. I just need to look for the handle.

My hand scanned the entire door to search even the slightest unevenness on the door. There should be one. I'm sure of it. Just when I was about to pull away, there was a texture that was definitely different from the rest. It was smooth, somewhat like a screen. It was barely noticeable! I place my ear on that spot and the sound was louder in this spot than any other spot. I placed my hand there.

Grimm noticed what I was doing and said, "We already tried that and-"

"Project Doomsday initiate." I said.

Nothing happened.

Grimm then tried to comfort me. "See, I told you. We tr-"

Suddenly a light emitted from where I placed my hand. It was a scanner!

"AAAH!" I exclaimed. A needle pricked my thumb and it went back inside.

I then smiled.

"How did you-" Grimm was dumbfounded

Father, you made sure that only we could open this door, didn't you? Only our blood could make this door open.

The door then shook and it started to open. The way it opened was weird. There was a line that appeared diagonally as it opened that way too. Smoke came from the inside. We couldn't see anything inside as it was dark. Suddenly, the lights slowly turned on and what we saw shocked us.

"Dad, we might hate you, but you are one hell of an amazing guy…" Grimm said in awe.

"You're definitely right about that." I agreed.

Inside were rows of different Vehicles. From cars, to snow mobiles, to jet skis, to motorcycles, to boats and many more. There were no helicopters though. On the walls were weapons and ammunition of different sorts. It was like we were looking at two hectare lot full of goods!

"Guys! You definitely have to see this!" Kaizer exclaimed

We then rushed over to where Kai was and stared in awe.

"Well, what do you know?" Toni marveled.

"I guess fixing the jet won't be a problem anymore." Fairy said with a smile.

In front of us was huge jet which was bigger than the one we had. I remembered this in one of dad's blueprints. This was the final output of the prototype that we drove here. It was ten times faster than the speed of sound. And it was the size of a football field. In short, it was practically a space ship! If I remember correctly, this is powered by solar, hydro and metal energy. We could practically use this unlimitedly!

The features that I could remember was that it was silent and it doesn't attract attention once the silent mode was activated. It can also hide by camouflaging itself. We could practically live in it!

"Hey guys? What's this?" Fairy asked.

Beside the plane, there was a giant door with a scanner on the side.

"Let's check it out." Grimm said as he placed his hand on the scanner.

Once it finished scanning his hand, the doors opened. Inside was a stockpile of food. It was a giant freezer.

"Wow! It's c-c-c-cold here." Fairy said.

"I guess being hungry won't be a problem." Grimm said.

"Now that food and transportation won't be a problem, what's the plan?" Toni asked.

Before I could even answer, the sound of an engine turned on. The ship was starting up!

I then looked around to look for someone.

"Where's Kaizer?!" I asked.

"I don't know! He's probably the one who turned it on!" Toni answered.

Then the engines turned off. The cargo haul soon opened and Kaizer walked from it.

"You won't believe what's inside! It's already loaded with supplies! It's like a hotel inside! This is totally ama-"

Before Kaizer could finish speaking I already punched him on the face. Though it didn't do any damage to him, the move still stunned him.

"Do you realize what you've done?! You started the engine without putting it on Silent Mode! It could have been heard from miles away now!" I yelled at him

He looked at me before he said, "I'm so-"

GZZZZZZZZGGGGZZZZ!

Before he could finish speaking, the entire bunker shook.

"What was that?!" Fairy asked nervously

"I don't know, but it definitely can't be good!" Grimm answered.

"Let's go!" Toni said

We rushed over to the monitor room to see what was going on. The monitor room had cameras set up both inside and outside the bunker. So we were definitely not blind as to what was going on within the bunker's perimeter.

Just as we were about to reach the room's door, Shine and Shadow were both rushing out with nervous expressions on their faces.

"Toni! Toni! Toni!" Shadow exclaimed while she was crying.

"Something's up! You have to see this!" Shine followed up as she dragged Toni by the hand inside the monitor room.

We also went in.

On one of the monitors, what we saw horrified us.

"No way… It can't be…" Fairy's face sunk as she said that.

There was a giant deer-like creature with a size of two school buses combined. Behind him were two smaller deer-like creature which were still huge. These things were bumping their antlers on the mountain side. Cracks were even beginning to form. I know that the bunker is strong, but with a King-tiered beast. These animals might have a chance.

"Isn't that…" Fairy could not even finish her sentence.

Toni nodded before saying, "It's them. The stags of that herd that we killed."

"And this time, one of those stags turned into a King-tiered beast." Grimm said.

"That's impossible! This early?" Kaizer exclaimed

"The timeline is changing…" I said in a low voice.

Everyone was now looking at me.

There was silence.

Shadow then broke the silence before asking, "Wh-wh-what should we do?"

"We have to escape with the ship!" Kaizer suggested.

"Ship? What ship?" Shine inquired.

"Long story…" Fairy answered.

"It's impossible to leave. A king-tiered beast could have wings and attack us. We can't be too careless." Toni retorted.

"So what we do we do?" Fairy asked.

What do we do? We can't stay here forever. Our friends are still out there. My parents are still out there somewhere! We need to do something. At this point, there was only one thing left to do.

"We fight!" I yelled with an angry look on my face.

"Are you crazy?!" Fairy retorted

"I might just be!" I replied.

"This is all my fault. If only I didn't start the ship." Kaizer regretted

"Save it Kai! Even if you didn't turn the ship on, we would still have to deal with these monsters sooner or later. It's better that we deal with them sooner than later. Especially that only one of them is king-tiered." I consoled.

I'd rather be in a fight with one King-tiered beast than three of them. Even a group of Gold layer survivors would have trouble in dealing with one of them. How much more us?

I closed my eyes and thought about what to do. Then I remembered that I had something that the rest probably don't have yet.

System. Are you there?

[The system is online. How may I help the host?]

Have you been gathering data about our situation?

[The host is indeed perceptive. The system has gathered the necessary data.]

What is our chance of survival if we go out there to fight these things?

[The host and his companions have 0.23% chance of surviving.]

The heck?! Only 0.23%? Then it's practically impossible.

[There is also a 30% chance that the host will create an opening and survive.]

What? Is that even possible? Didn't you just say that we had a mere 0.23% chance of surviving? What is this talk about a chance to survive if that's the case?

[The host had created, in simpler terms, a "miracle" in the previous battle. It was not within the data that was collected by the system. The success rate of that battle was only 0.01%, yet the host has successfully killed the targets.]

GZZZZZZZZGGGGZZZZ!

The bunker once again shook as the beasts were now getting more impatient.

"They are trying to force us out!" Shine exclaimed.

So there's a chance, right?!

[That is correct]

Then I'll take it!

"Everyone! Listen to me!" I commanded

They were now looking at me with anxious faces. They were getting more scared. And I totally understand that. But as someone who had led this team to their deaths before, I will not let it happen again!

"Shine! Shadow! Stay here in the monitor room and keep us updated through our comms. We all know that a king-tiered beast can attract and even control other beasts that are lower than them." I instructed

"Got it!" Both of them answered at the same time.

"Toni, I need you to stay here with them and guide us as our watchtower. Make sure you make the right calls. You have to make the call for you three to evacuate. I really need you to focus on this right now." I explained.

She hesitated for a while before giving me a nod.

Hey, if she agrees then I'm sure she sees that my plan is the only way for now. Besides, the best place for her right now is on everyone's earpiece. The legendary "Prophetic Strategist" has to be at her best today.

"Grimm, go with Kai and prepare the ship. Wait for my signal when we clear the area. We'll fly out of here temporarily. Load up more supplies to the ship. Make sure it'll last us months. A year at most. Stay on comms and wait for Toni's or my instructions. Are we clear?"

"Understood!" Both of them answered.

"Fairy, go get Nine, Jaden and Ash. Tell them to prepare for war. Wait for me at the entrance. I'll give you the signal to attack." I instructed.

"Are you seriously going out there with just two Gold teammates?" Kaizer tried to talk me out of this.

I patted his shoulder. "In case something happens, you'll lead the team. You guys will serve as our back-up. I promise you. We'll make it out of here."

GZZZZZZZZGGGGZZZZ!

The bunker shook again. Kaizer looked at me and gave me a nod. There was no other way for now.

"Well? You have your tasks, get in position!" I commanded and waited for everybody to move out. I then looked at Shine and whispered something to her. Afterwards, we started our first mission together as enhanced humans.

"Watchtower here, does everybody copy?" Toni tried checking everybody's comms.

"Beta Team hears you loud and clear. We're now loading the ship with supplies." Grimm answered.

"Alpha team on stand-by. Waiting for Paradox to come over so we can start the plan." Fairy replied.

GZZZZZZZZGGGGZZZZ!

The bunker was attacked again. This was getting worse and worse by the second.

"Paradox? Do you copy?" Toni asked

There was no response.

"Paradox are you there?" Toni asked again.

There was still no response in the other line.

"Paradox?!" Fairy couldn't take any more of the silence and worriedly asked.

"Yeah! I hear you guys! I'm busy at the moment!" I answered

Everybody were probably shocked with my response since I couldn't hear them responding.

"What the hell are you doing Paradox?! Why can't you stick to the plan?!" Toni was now angry.

"Change of plans! Alpha team! Move out! Nine take ground and cover everyone. Fairy, eyes on the skies. Jaden, go with Ash and lead the assault. Ash, be on the defensive and cover Jaden. Fairy, you take the lead. I'll catch up to you as soon as I'm done on my end! Now go!" I gave my instructions before cutting my comms off.

"Paradox! What the hell?!" Fairy angrily said.

"It's no use. He cut of his comms." Toni sighed

"Seriously?! What's with this guy?! Alpha team! Move out!" Fairy complained.

Everybody was thinking the same thing. What the heck is this guy doing?
