Wow, that's a lot to process even if they give next to no information. Let's check the Evo Point rewards on the forum. So they have different classifications based on how evolved someone is, in tier 0 there is three categories. The first is basically the weakest tier 0 with less than three systems upgraded, we get 1 Evo Point per kill. The next stage is for anything with three systems upgraded but less than seven, we get 5 Evo Points per kill. The last is for anything with seven or more tier 1 systems, those award 20 Evo Points. That must be why they gave a reward for upgrading three systems, if we aren't the weakest out their we can put up a decent struggle huh. It's pretty much the same for higher tiers except they reward more points.

After a few minutes Derek calls out.

"Ok everyone, game time. We can read more later for now were in goblin hunting season. Our main focus is to try and complete the overlord mission. There is six of us so that's six thousand we have to kill. Easy right."

My lips twitched at that last sentence, easy my ass.

"Simple rules stay on the bus, we shoot out the windows and run over any in front of us. If they hid in the buildings, well I have a few presents for those smart guys."

Derek started to pat the bag next to him with a disturbingly happy smile.

"Anyways, just be ready for anything, especially the few goblins that are already tier 1."

With that all so awe inspiring speech our little group started to drive towards the riverside area. Everyone was alert checking the sides. The buses both had their engines quieted by the twins, now they barely make any sound.

As we were cruising through the streets, I noticed that in a few areas the plants have really started to get out of control. Houses were covered in Ivy, trees that looked like they were small houses, bushes that almost seemed to follow us with their branches. We even saw one tree with several corpses in it's branches, how they got their I don't know but I can tell I don't want to find out.

Finally we reached the designated area and we began to search block by block. After ten minutes we finally saw some signs of activity, doors smashed down, windows broken, even a few houses on fire. We can tell from the puddles of blood on the ground that this happened recently. In the distance we heard a women scream out for an instant before silence returned. We started to drive towards it.

After driving another few blocks we finally found our first group of goblins, they seemed to have camped out in an elementary school yard, some are probably also in the building. There are several camp fires scattered around with something being cooked over them. Can't tell from where we are, but most likely the meat being cooked is from the humans they have killed. Maybe some unlucky animals. We hear more screams from within the building. From the driver's seat Derek called out.

"Ok people, change of plans. We kill the bastards out on the field first, then kill anything that comes out of the building. Once things quiet down we take the building and see if we can save anyone. Anyone got problems with that."

We all nodded with agreement towards the plan and turned the safety's off our weapons. The windows are able to open from the inside so we can fire from safety. We open the windows on the right side and get ready. After everyone gave the go ahead Derek yelled to hang on and floored it. Even with the twin's sound profening the engine still roared under the sudden full acceleration.

With the appearance of a rampaging steel beast we stormed the school's field. The goblins became panicked, screaming at each other and running around.

Once Derek plowed through the middle of the field he slowed down and stared circling around so we could start firing. Once we got a clean field of fire we unloaded into the goblin hoard.

Countless goblins fell in the first wave of fire and metal, several red flowers blooming in mid air as the goblins were torn apart. I didn't even really need to aim, the little critters were grouped tightly together around their camp fires and once they became panicked it was over for them.

Once they started to get their bearings they tried to flee for the school building. The mass of green bodies tried to push and shove their way through causing more chaos.

We emptied two clips into the hoard when Derek started to speed up again aiming for the middle of the goblins. We braced ourselves as the impact was frightful, blood and guts splashed the windows as the bus keep crushing bodies. After Derek drove out from the middle a few goblins tried to jump into the bus from the windows only to be meet with blades.

One tried to climb through my window, just as he pulled his upper body in I grabbed his neck and plunged my blade through his skull. His eyes radiated terror as they dimmed. I let go and his corpse fell out and got crushed by the back tire. I could feel his blood dripping down my face and only felt a raising sensation, a need for more. I aimed out the window and started to fire again, not nearly satisfied with the death I've already dished out.

We were able to make another two passes before they escaped into the building. We parked twenty meters away from the doors and aimed, waiting for them to charge out. After waiting for two minutes we finally saw movement. A larger goblin came out, most are only the size of children but this one was at least two meters. I could hear Jacklyn yell.

"Careful, it's most likely a tier 1."

With our guns trained on the large green creature, he was cautious. He seemed to think for a second before roaring out. Suddenly a flood of green bodies started to pour out, they charge towards us only to be mowed down in another wave of gunfire. Derek yelled to brace before taking out a grenade launcher. The large goblin seemed to sense danger and ran back inside. In that moment Derek started to open fire causing explosions to appear, causing green bodies to be torn apart and sent flying.

The goblins became terrified at the sudden wave of death from above and started to retreat back inside. As they retreated we continuously shot them from behind. As the last one fled inside we surveyed the carnage we caused.

Groups of dead goblins were scattered across the field, ripped to shreds from gunfire, crushed by our armored bus, or blown apart by Derek's explosives. A scene straight from hell was born as a small stream of blood had formed.

We must have already killed hundreds, and not many were able to retreat. So I asked.

"Do we move in to capture the building?"

Derek seemed to contemplate the risks as he stared at the building. Suddenly Max called out.

"We move in Derek, Hunter your coming with us. Emily get on the roof and keep an eye on the surroundings, Jacklyn be prepared to drive at any moment. Jasmine check the bus for any problems but be careful."

Just like that Max changed, the easy going guy I've always known transformed into a decisive leader. Derek fully accepted the swap in command and almost looked relieved, I guess he doesn't lead groups very often.

I put the assault rifle I'd been using down and took out my pistol. In close quarters I prefer a handgun and blade approach. I made sure to have several clips and got off the bus. Max had two long daggers strapped to his sides and carried a shotgun in his hands. He had two belts of shells wrapped around his chest. Derek also pulled out his shot gun, but his melee weapon was a modified baseball bat that seemed to have wires wrapped around it. Max confirmed we were ready and started towards the school.

I couldn't help but feel excited by the thought of our midnight massacre only just beginning.
