The Reptilians

Lance shook his head, getting rid of the dizziness as he tried to focus. He closed his eyes, remembering all of the details of the mission.

New information intercepted had given clues that the outsiders in this ship were Reptilians, a lizard-like humanoid species with thick scales and superhuman strength. This race was born with a single IN: the ability to control heat. It was their goal to study humans and figure out how to add the capability of multiple IN's to their race.

It was impossible for any person on the same level to pierce a Reptilian's skin. The best solution was to use electricity to knock them out, hence the modification in Lance's exosuit.

He had spent only a day in virtual training to learn how to use the exosuit as the information had been gleaned just a day before he set off, prompting that day to be used to modify the suit in the first place.

Although it had many functions, Lance only considered himself with two: Knockout and Boost. Boost activated thrusters in his hands, legs and back shooting him forward in any direction. This was exactly what he needed to get close to the reptilians and immobilize them, as the thrusters also operated silently.

Soon, he saw a ship in space moving in the direction of the Earth. Due to similar velocities, it seemed to be moving very slow with Lance steadily catching up on it. Only, due to the activation of the cloaking tools, only a blank patch of space could be seen in Lance's direction.

The ship was egg-shaped, with holes on one end shooting out a greenish-yellow light, making it move forward.

With a small "THUD", the capsule attached itself to the hull of the ship magnetically at the exact moment that a small meteorite impacted it's top.

The ship was only 50 feet long and 20 feet wide. Lance wondered what the cargo was that needed such a small ship.

His exosuit was completely sealed, making him look like he was wearing a blue diving suit. His helmet had a decoration on the front in the shape of a V, with the material looking like it was some alloy of steel. The helmet had no openings for his eyes, and Lance did not need any because he had a heads up display in front of him showing him everything outside along with information about the available weapons and functions.

The capsule door in front of his retracted to show a grey surface which was the hull of the ship.

He first put both of his hands on the hull and thought in his mind "Scan", which brought a blurry display of a room into his vision.

There seemed to be an empty space to his right. "Move to empty location", he thought, and a green gel secreted itself on the edges of the capsule moving it silently toward the location. The suit had access to his brainwaves, and he could use conscious thoughts to send commands to both the suit and the capsule.

Just as he got to the location, he sent the command "Activate infiltration gel" to his suit before placing his hands on the hull again. This time, a transparent gel came out of his palms which he rubbed on the surface in front of him. After a period of time, the transparent gel-coated surface became transparent, allowing him to see a grey ceiling above. He slowly raised his head and it easily went through the gel, allowing him to turn to both sides and double check if there was anyone around. Although the scan had indicated that the area was empty, Lance still felt wary.

The transparent gel was a wondrous substance which first analyzed what it was on before activating a reaction which converted wherever it was applied into itself. Basically, it made a door through which humans could pass through then seal behind him, not allowing the vacuum of space to invade the ship.

Lance carefully climbed up, making sure to be silent before crouching on the ground on all fours.

There were 2 huge black boxes on the two sides of the room, with where he had just come out being the pathway.

After sneaking up to one of the boxes, he put his hand on it and commanded the suit to analyze what it was.

An expression of horror appeared on his face as he saw someone looking back at him through the box, which had just become transparent due to his contact.
