"Maybe I would eventually learn to barbeque pork in the wild with my magic alone." Sameal thought as he walked through one of the doors that Artemis has identify as the Mage's training ground.
The Mage's training ground is was quite deserted; it wasn't anything close to what Sameal had imagined. There was neither pickled organs nor ancient books. A cloaked figure was lying against a table and twirling a giant wooden staff. The mysterious figure twitched irregularly and magical words float through the air and twirl around gather figure before slowly disappearing. Sameal was astonished just by simply looking at the scene.
As Sameal stepped through the door, the mysterious figure slowly got up and the muffled voice rained out, "I'm not making any scrolls today, come back tomorrow when you have time."
Well then, Sameal turned around and walked out the door never to look back. The End… (What the hell get serious here.)
"I didn't come here to get a scroll made. I'm here to learn magic." Replied Sameal as he smiled.
"Hmm?" Sameal thought the worst of it when the mysterious figure just sort of looked at him. Then to Sameal's surprise the figure shook its head and the hood slipped a little to reveal a pair of sky color eye but it's what the expression in the eye said about this situation, it was an expression of sadness. "I didn't know that a male would have the interest or the ability to even think about learning Arcane Magic. Unfortunately, without any magical roots at your age it would take a really long time to learn any magic at all. There's also a chance that the magic would backfire on you and cause you to explode from the inside out. Basically learning magic could be the cause of your death. With your condition it would be better if you go and learn something else."
"If you are willing to teach me, then I'll spent all of my time and effort to learn it. I am able to endure through anything!"
"Oh really, your idea about magic is too naïve…" The cloaked figure then pulled out a bottle from god knows where and threw It toward Sameal. "Drink the liquid, it would create an artificial magical root who before developing a second upgrade would be an endless mass of fog undetected by anything other than yourself. By using an artificial root it would cause you to run out of mana faster and if you over use magic after you run out then the chances of the magic inside you exploding would be way larger. After the second transformation however you would overcome the hurdle without a magical root."
Sameal took the long thin tube and hesitated. Who knew what would happen after he drank this mysterious blue substance? There was countless people who have warned of not taking candy from strangers and for the fact that he had just arrived in this new world. What happens if he dies again? Would he travel to another world? Or would he finally die this time. Assuming that he died in the previous one.
A faint fragrance drifted out from the tube. Sameal swallowed the lump in his throat and thought of countless other things he would rather do then drink this weird potion.
"If you're afraid then don't drink it." The mysterious figure with its sky color eye revealed a trace of contempt. Staring at Sameal, it said, "Cowards should not ever dream of becoming a magician."
Without complaining further Sameal gulped down the potion in one gulp annoyed by what the mysterious figure had said. One of the things he hate most in the world is being called a coward.
The second that the potion went into his stomach, Sameal felt pain spread from his heart to every part of his body. Before he could scream out, the pain surged again and it was as if something was picking at him through the muscle and the skin.
Sameal was completely drenched with sweat and the sweat seems to steam the moment it touched his skin.
"HA, it seems to be working." The mysterious figure stared at Sameal who was trying his hardest to keep standing. It said in happiness and surprise, "Does it hurt? Do you feel anything other than pain?"
"F**k you, are you trying to kill me!" the aching pain caused Sameal immense pain just to spat out these words. "Don't worry, It won't kill you." The Mysterious Figure said as it walk closer to him. "Being an Arcane Mage means that you would have to withstand other elements blasting on your body and also required a strong outer defense and a strong inner defense. The artificial roots are being constructed as we speak right now the potion is to help increase your defense and help you construct a root. The second potion you take would just increase your defense."
"THE SECOND POTION?" Sameal stared in shocked at the mysterious figure, He was barley able to suruive the current potion and he is required to take more of these type of potions?
"Yes, the second potion would become harder to swallow due to the missing ingredients from creating these artificial roots. This potion would strength your body to the point where it could block off elemental attacks from other magicians." The mysterious figure shook its head and sighed. "Once you wake up come find me again and we'll officially begin your lessons. That's if you survive without any damage."
"Also, the first few moments would be easier to bear, after that the pain would slowly increase until the artificial root is complete. It would usually take up to three to four hours."
The raging impact from the pain increased until he could no longer bear it and screamed out in agony. "God, KILL ME NOW!"
