Seeing Sera's body on the verge of giving up, Rhael increased the chemical input to accelerate the procedure.
"GAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Sera cried in pain, tears dropping one at a time. She couldn't take it anymore. In that moment another glitch sparked within the network, but this time it lasted for a minute. Rhael just thought it was because she had exerted more power and force that Sera's body couldn't take it.
"What are you doing?!" Agaven grumbled at his wife. He looked at her to check if Rhael was doing it on purpose.
"You do know that we still need her for the final experiment, right?" Agaven reminded her, as he tried to neutralize the power Rhael had sent to Sera's body.
Rhael snapped out and she realized while trying to handle the glitch she sent out excessive power. It escaped her memory that Sera was nearing her limit already.
"There was a glitch." She explained calmly.
Agaven said nothing but dismay was evident on his eyes. It was a simple mistake but that mistake could take away the life of their only hope for their daughter's revival.
Sera continued to feel the pain. But hearing that her foster parents weren't in any way worried about her, she choked on her shouts and clamped her mouth. She released moans of pain. However the pain was much unbearable for her. She closed her hands in a fist, her nails pressing through her skin it started to bleed. Blood started to ooze out from her nose and ears. She would start convulsing if it doesn't stop in the next second.
"Let's end it for now." Agaven said coldly.
Without any warning Sera once again fell on the floor. She feel on her feet but she wasn't in the right balance and she accidentally dislocated her right ankle. Rhael saw this but she didn't bother.
Strings of light emitted from her fore finger. The lights surrounded Sera and, in an instant, Sera was sent back in Lerica's old room.
Another fall, it was a good thing she fell on the bed. She laid motionless her eyes half open. Her eyes started to water as she had remembered her thoughts back when she first met the Stedore's. She thought that once she joins the Stedore's her life would start anew and it would lead on something good. She was wrong. She missed her old sis already. For the first time she had actually thought the orphanage even with Father Sev in it was better than this place, because no matter what she has Sister Liz there. Just as her mind imagined Sister Liz hugging her tight a tear drop fell. Her eyes slowly closed. She wanted to rest already. She wanted to sleep and never wake up anymore. Her breathing started to lessen. Then it stopped.
Tik. Tok. Tik. Tok. Clang! Clang! Clang! The antique pendulum clock in the living room resonated in the house.
In the same room, someone was awakened. Sera opened her eyes wide and gasped for oxygen like she was deprived of it for quite a long time. She looked around the room like it was her first time seeing it. She was about to stand but she realized her body was full of wounds. It wasn't only external wounds but her internals were also quite damaged. Her eyebrows furrowed a little as if she was trying to remember what happened but it only gave her a headache. She only remembered lights and grunts of pain but they weren't clear thus she stopped.
She started to murmur something and a ball of warm white light started to form. The ball emanated a string of light like a laser. Slowly the ball scanned her body. It continued to do this down to her toe. It was like a laser light trying to check her body accurately of any problem. After it finished, the ball now emitted a blue light. It did the same it scanned her from head to toe but much slower. This time as it pass through her body parts the wounds started to heal on its own. Her damaged internal organs started to regenerate as well. It took about an hour for her to completely heal.
She stood up as soon as she felt she was healed and checked on her body. She was fine now. In fact, because of the healing her body became stronger. Happy with the results Sera smiled. She walked towards the door but soon learned it was locked. She walked on the bedside drawer to look for the key but there was nothing in their except for the spectacles. She strode on to the vanity mirror just a few steps away from her to try it on. She sat down and she clearly saw her innocent looking face. She gave out a snort like 'what kind of kind face is this'. She wore the spectacles, it was a simple black framed glasses. She held the center of the glasses with her fore finger and lifted it in place and it glinted.
She looked at herself in satisfaction,
"Hi, Aurice." She mumbled to herself and grinned.
