Hades

Part 1 – Untitled

The place was crowded with a cold mist as the cold wind blew all over the desolate area dumped with corpses of soldiers and barbarians who drew blood for glory. The mountainous area of the alps at the border of Athartos was the place of battlefield that was currently ongoing between the athartian army and the barbarians of Tergard; a country stretching wide from the far-eastern lands reaching until the rocky mountains of the east – The Senpø mountain range. Day by day, this huge land occupied by the tergardians were slowly being conquered by the might of the athartian empire; proving them not that much of a threat to their world – Kurmus; a planet where 5 continents stood, but still overpowered by the colossal size of the waters that was surrounding the planet, a sanctuary of life created by the gods.

The clashing of blades and the screams of agony were heard all around the battlefront, it was as if death was taking their lives with a flick of his wrist, slashing his scepter and taking their souls with him. The concept of mercy was not the kind of idea that this war was showing, only their lust for blood.

Suddenly, the tergardians stood still as they gazed in awe at the athartian standing behind the swarm of athartian warriors:

" No it can't be…" spoke the chieftain of the barbarians, showing his fear as well through his eyes and his shock as to how wide his mouth was opened.

All their eyes were concentrated on one specific person that was wearing a gauntlet that shone as bright as the stars, even in that area that was full of mist where eyes were blurred of their vision.

The athartian army then retreated to the man's side as he reached his gauntlet to the sky, and then chanting a certain spell that would activate the spear's prowess:

"Cronos! As person oi ouranos!! (Kronos,Let the Sky Go!)" he shouted, a voice that would be heard all over the battlefield, and as soon as the barbarians heard him chant, they began to run over to the opposite direction.

" … The Gauntlet of Kronos" the barbarian chieftain continued as he was persistent to stand there while his soldiers were running, " there's no escape."

One soldier came and pulled the chieftain, begging him to escape the area and survive for the good of Tergard, yet he pushed the man down to his knees and didn't move a single bit.

" Are you crazy!? Do you want to die?"

" Might as well, than to be executed."

After he said those words, the skies tore apart and the clouds moved away from each other as giant boulders, meteorites started to fall from the heavens like a fireball thrown from the dragon's mouth. The diameter of one boulder was the size of a village, the athartians stood still as they watched barbarians ran from the distance, and looked at the rocks falling.

When the first meteorite fell, it created an explosion that could wipe out a settlement. Even from that distance, they could feel the movement of the ground as the heavens touched the soil.

The soldiers of the athartian army was mesmerized by what they just witnessed, this was the might of Alexandros Pellios; the athartian mortifer (deathbringer).

Part 2 – Test

Drakios was thrown outside his room with all his belongings by the girl that was inside, he had just did something that was unpleasant. The door shut like the sound of a thunder.

" I told you, I didn't do it on purpose!"

" Booger off pervert! What are you doing in my room anyway!?"

" No! it's my room!, it says so on my student info."

" What does it say?"

" Room number 436… which is this room."

" Huh, that's odd, mine says 436 as well."

The girl slowly opened the door and peeked at him,

" Then, let's go to the dorm lounge so we can make sure your 'student info' doesn't have any typos in it, cause a guy and girl staying in the same room is not in Exaimistís rules, and that has not happened in the history of this academy."

" I don't know either! And how in hades are you going to go back to the dorm lounge, it's not like-"

Before he could continue his sentence, they were both transferred back to the dorm lounge in a split second, but still, he continued it:

" For the gods' sake! Why won't you people let me continue what I'm trying to say, and why didn't you say you were a Magos as well?"

" I don't have time for any chit chat, now let's get this thing over with."

They both walked to the receptionist that was standing in the same place as she was before, not moving a single inch, as they grew distance, the receptionist noticed them and took her eyes off the book that she was reading.

" How can I help you two?" after the receptionist asked, the girl suddenly barged in and asked the receptionist in reply before Drakios could even say a single word.

" Umm, there seems to be an error, in this guy's student information." The receptionist showed a face that was full of questions, " error? I don't see anything wrong with his student information at all."

" Nothing!? We're both in the same room, and that's really wrong!"

The receptionist giggled after hearing the girl said those words, " Oh, I've forgotten to tell you all. There had been a lot of enrollees these year, for the first time in the history of the academy. In accordance to that, we ran out of rooms, and had to mix some students in the same room.."

The girl's eyes twitched, " How could my life be more miserable? Me? With that pervert!?"

The receptionist smiled and replied, " I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do to help you right now."

Part 3 - Odyssey

As the students heard the sound from all over the school's premises, they began swarming in a large number of crowd, all heading for Exaimistìs' school auditorium. As the numbers grew, the slower the movement got, and soon everyone started pushing each other and others got trapped in the middle of it all, as well as Drakios and the girl.

" Man, this is what Exaimìstis' students are? Talk about warriors and discipline." said Drakios, while getting pushed back and forth in the 'calamity'.

Slowly and slowly they were being pushed in the middle, as if they were inside a whirlpool.

" Hey Magos!-"

" I have a name! So stop calling me Magos, you pervert!"

" I thought you hadn't, after all you haven't even told me about it, Magos!"

" I told you, stop calling me a Magos!"

" Well, you are a Magos, then what do you want me to call you then? Magical succubus?!"

" Pervert! Of course not that, you!"

The more time that was being consumed, the more they were being slowly 'swallowed'. The huge numbers were now arriving at the auditorium's doors, but felt like an eternity due to the condensed state that they were in.

Suddenly a magical circle with a huge diameter appeared behind the crowd, everyone's eyes were on the circle and any movement was stopped.

" Is that a magical circle?" asked one student, followed by an answer by another, " It is, but it isn't a regular magical circle." The student then pointed his fingers at the circle, and everyone gazed in awe. They were shocked to see an eye in the middle of the circle.

" Magos, what's that?"

" That's... The eye of Horus."

" Horus? The god of the skies? Then that must mean..."

In an instant, the students were sent flying into air and burst into the auditorium doors, eventually falling on the floor. Drakios felt dizzy, he slowly forced himself to stand up, no matter how difficult.

The auditorium was now full of students lying on the ground, while the others were starting to stand up, Drakios called out to the girl:

" Magical succubus!"

Suddenly somebody had hit him on the back of his head with the sheer strength of a palm.

Drakios looked back to see them girl standing beside him, while patting his 'damaged' head.

"What was that for!?"

"I told you don't call me that!"

" Then tell me your name already!"

" Not now..."

Drakios knew there was something behind her saying that, instead he just forgot about it and focused on what was happening at hand. Soon everyone started to stand on their two feet. They all looked at the door of the auditorium which was wide open, and a man was standing there.

" A windy day eh?" said the man, he was just a silhouette from the distance he was standing, but as he walked closer to them, they saw the face of a man who has seen the worst.

" Now who are you? This school really has some crazy surprises..." A student asked. The man's face began to frown and suddenly hugged a pillar beside him and started crying, " Sad! No one remembers me!"

As the man rotated and rotated on the pillar while crying, one specific object caught their attentions. A round shield was hanging from the man's behinds, tied in the belt that was all-around his body.

" That symbol..."

The girl suddenly recalled the moment when they encountered that magical circle earlier,

" You! You're the vessel of Horus!"

" Right at you!" The man's face drastically changed from a frown to a joyous smile that was as wide as the river of Nestiles.

" The name's Arcus Vetrovius, and I'm one of the teachers here."

Drakios had his own joy going on his mind as well:

" Wow, one of the teacher's the eagle-eyed of the great barbaric war."

Arcus Vetrovius; known to many as the eagle-eye of the great barbaric war. Carries a bow and an arrow on his back, this guy has the power of the god - Horus, given that he is able to command the winds with his bare hands and create a storm.

" Students of Exaimistìs! I stand here before you today to bring you an announcement!" shouted the headmaster – Alexios Caesar; the prime minister of the empire of Atharta, and a war hero. Standing amongst the students in that large stage that was shone with bright lights and was decorated magnificently.

In turn the students turned their attention to the middle-aged man. Drakios stood and looked up, showing how low he was compared to that of a member of the royal family.

The students waited and waited, but the headmaster didn't speak any longer as soon as they stood there. Drakios began to wonder of the situation, as well as any other student that was with them. Any sane person would think that there's something wrong with what's happening.

They stood still and waited, and then…

"Ti diáolo!? (What the hell!?)" shouted Drakios as they began to fall into a dark pit after they were surprised that the floor that they were standing on was, as it turned out to be, a trap door. A very huge one at that.

They were falling like it would not end, but not long after, they were introduced into a brand new world. Drakios looked at the land as he continued to fall, the ground was not far now and a pair of wings were flapping on the sideskirts watching them as they fall:

" There is only one rule! Survive!" shouted Arcus Vetrovius. " If you die, you die! That means you're not fit to be a warrior of the imperial army." Drakios looked fearfully as he realized that he was about to die, when things had just started.

" Drakios!" shouted the girl as she reached her hands to him…
