Just when she almost gave up and going back to her room, her eyes caught the lights on her necklace. The two lights which at first stay unmoving started to move in rotation, shocking her as she almost screamed in fear. When her mouth opened wide as her voice almost jumped out from her throat, she closed it with both hands.
She suddenly has an enlightenment. 'That's right! How do I forget about it?!' Princess Karin shouted inside her heart. Holding her excitement she started to remember the meaning of the patterns.
A circle, diamond, triangle, and inverted triangle. She then remembered one of the teaching material that Mary teach her. Yes, if she not remembering it wrong, these patterns were the way to draw a basic magic circle.
Without waiting much longer, she started to push the first pattern that she believes was the inverted triangle. As she pushed it, she keeps her posture as she slowly retracted her finger. Then she starts looking around to see if something would happen before slowly sighed in relief.
After the first try, her courage started to soar and she pressed the second pattern, the triangle then the circle. As Princess Karin stared at the last diamond pattern, she inhaled much air in anticipation. Her finger trembled and she doesn't know whether it was because of fear or excitement.
When it looks like actually really easy to draw, but not many knew about how the right way to draw it. Princess Karin once hears from Mary which was boasting that with a different way of drawing could change its attributes or the power of the output. With that as a hint, she continued with confidence.
Contrary to her expectation, after the last pattern was pressed there was nothing else happening besides the sound of a click as the side of the bed was opened. Shrugging, she opened it wide and noticed a book with the cover full of dust inside. Raising her eyebrow, she picked it up and try to clean it, "Book of Summoning?" she said in confusion.
However, before she could open the book, a hand grabbed her shoulder and made her almost shouted in surprise. Her surprised face only lasts for a moment before she turned pale. Right behind her already standing the angry Natasha and behind her was Odelle with her trembling body.
Before Princess Karin could say something, Natasha glare made her flinch, "Princess Karin, I did say that you aren't allowed to leave the castle… But, why did you decide to go out of your room without any notice? Do you want to escape?"
"I am not escaping! I-I just…" Princess Karin slowly lowering her voice with her head hung low because she feels guilty about her escape attempt.
Natasha glanced at her for a moment before turns toward Odelle behind her, "As I thought, I need to find another capable maid for you."
Hearing Natasha cold voice, Odelle paled and with resigned face stepped backward with her shoulder dropped. "Wait!" Princess Karin then stands up while grasping Natasha sleeve, "This is nothing to do with Odelle, you don't need to replace her."
Natasha sighed and grasped Princess Karin hand and stared into her eyes, "Listen, my Princess. In this emergency time, we don't need people who would be a burden for us." She glared at Odelle in the corner of her eyes, "That's why I would find another capable person to take care of you. Its decided." she then turned her body away.
"Wait." Princess Karin then blocked Natasha which was approaching Odelle with her body trembling.
"Princess, you are blocking the path." Natasha stared at her.
"What is your problem? What is your right to decide as you like?! Odelle was my personal maid, and she also our childhood friend right?!" Princess Karin adamantly tries to convince Natasha, Odelle behind her closing her mouth and feels moved because of her.
Natasha squinting her eyes then noticed a book on Princess Karin hand. "What is that book in your hand?"
"Don't change the subject, answer me?! Do you really want to replace Odelle as my personal maid?" Princess Karin glaring at Natasha.
"That's right. I don't want the personal feeling to disturb our duty. If she cannot do the job to even letting you escaped, it's better to find another person." Natasha replied coldly.
Princess Karin was shocked at Natasha. "Natasha… What's happening to you!?"
Natasha shook her head, "There is nothing wrong with me. If that's all, could you please step aside?"
Princess Karin then clenched her hand and grasped hard the book on her hand as she glared at Natasha and as if to follows her outbursts the necklace on her neck also shined, "Natasha, I think you are going too far. The one that could decide who are with me, is only me! That's also what my father said to you, right? You don't have the right to replace Odelle, do you understand?"
Then right in front of Natasha and Odelle eyes, golden lights start to pouring out of Princess Karin and surprised them. Natasha feels an oppression aura which made her unable to see Princess Karin figure and decide to avert her eyes down, "Understand. I will not replace her."
Princess Karin serious expression then turned into a cheerful smile, "Really?" and with her change of mood, the golden light start to diminish and the necklace light also disappeared as if a lie.
Suppressing her trembling hand, Natasha continued her serious façade, "But the ban of going outside is still going." Without waiting much longer, Natasha then walked pass the Princess.
After seeing that Natasha already disappeared to the first floor, Princess Karin then feels exhaustion and she lost the energy of her feet. Fortunately, before she fell down to the floor Odelle already hugged her from behind, "Thank you, Princess Karin."
Princess Karin smiled for a moment before her smile stiffened, she noticed that Odelle was smiling at her but her eyes looked dull, "And Princess, please don't make a trouble for me. Okay?"
Princess Karin then trembled as she was dragged by Odelle to go back to her room. But if only it's that simple. With Odelle personality, Princess Karin believes she would have to listen a night full of heartfelt scolding. She could only silently cried of her misfortune.
