I Love You

Dennis was discharged from the hospital that same day. He went back to the fruit warehouse and found his stepmother who was crying after she heard that her husband was in jail and could not avail the bail.

"Dennis, please, don't leave me and your little sisters," Mrs. Gallante said as she clung to Dennis' arms. The two little sisters of six and ten years old cried with their mother, holding his sides as well.

Dennis looked at them and he was in turmoil. To leave the shadow of his father was his utmost desire for four years. Yet, Mrs. Gallante knew her husband's work from the beginning but she still chose to marry him for love and bore him these two children.

These sisters of his were born chained to their father's bad image like him, nonetheless, they were innocent. For the previous years, the three of them got closer and enjoyed each other's company. They even chose to go to him for advice than to their father.
