Redwood Demon Beast Market

The sudden information about the possible beast wave made Trevon worried. He decided to return to the family pavilion. He didn't plan to report about the mutated demon beasts in the market. Trevon knew there were some family informants in the market.

He believed the family would already know that there were multiple mutated demon beasts in Redwood Forest. Perhaps, at this time some Rank 2 elders and one or two Rank 3 grand elders from the family would be sent to Redwood. His McArthur family always had the track record to be the fastest to gather benefits in the area around here.

[Is Father fine?] Trevon felt a bit worried for his father. [He should be fine. Master Rabbink still told there would be enough time for me to level. Wait!] He suddenly remembered something.

[Master Rabbink!] He called the floating Rabbink in his heart.

"Yes?" Master Rabbink asked.

[If I called the trouble using the Troublemeter, would it reduce the future trouble?] Trevon asked.

"You are not fun. If you don't get big trouble, how can I make some money from your story?" It complained.

Trevon was sure about it. He took the Troublemeter from his robe. Those elders didn't realize this stupid lamp light wasn't a tool to dazzle young girls. Trevon had even already prepared to answer that it was one of the joining toys. He pressed the button on the Troublemeter. It only had a bit light in it, a sign that big trouble was still far.

[Nothing happens!] He thought.

"Young Master!" Jerry called Trevon.

"What it is Jerry?" Trevon asked.

"There is Young Lady Raina in the store next to us." Jerry gave a code to Trevon.

Trevon looked in the direction of the store. Raina was still selecting some female robes. [It's real.] Trevon was scared. He ran automatically.

[STOP!!!] Suddenly a girl screamed.

[I am dead.] Trevon stopped his run.

"Why young master Trevon doesn't greet his boss?" Raina spotted Trevon. As a cultivator, Raina often used her spiritual sense to check her surroundings.

"Hahaha. I didn't see, Elder Sister. Trevon greets Elder Sister Raina." Trevon returned to the Robe Store.

"Why did you run?"

"Who...? Who ran? I was just training myself." Trevon said. He didn't realize he made the same habit.

A punched landed in Trevon's stomach. [I should practice stealth movement martial art.] Trevon promised himself. [Is this the trouble?]

"Did you just lie to your elder sister?" Raina punched Trevon.

"I am sorry Sister." More punched rained in Trevon's stomach.

"Why are you here?" Raina asked.

"I just came from the Demon Beast Market." Trevon told Raina the reason he was here. Of course, he didn't tell that he wanted to look for a crystal fox for his future dream. "I saw some mutated beasts sold on the market. I want to run to give this information to the family as fast as I can." He didn't want to tell about demon beast waves to his sister. It was safer to tell his uncle, he could thing first.

"Then we should just go to the market, now!" Raina grabbed Trevon. Unlike Trevon, she was an important member of the family that was nurtured as a genius. Her allowance was far higher than Trevon. She also loved to raise cute demon beasts. Of course, most of the daily cares were done by the demon beast tamers in the family.

"Yes, Sis." Trevon finally returned to the demon beast market.

"I want to buy that Moon Leopard!" She loved the color of the Leopard. She had several moon leopards before.

"I want to buy that canary too!" She took the other mutated beast. Unlike common people and family, she had a bigger allowance. There was no need for thinking for her. Even Trevon would love to purchase those beasts for showing off to other young masters, but he couldn't. He was a poor young master after all his assets turned into core energy.

Their group went to numerous demon beast store. They even met with the members of their family who was sent to purchase the mutated demon beast too. They even told Raina the family would repurchase some of those beasts and even added some contribution points for her.

[If only I have money!] Trevon lamented this loss. Those points were his freedom.

The competition for mutated demon beasts was fierce. Everybody wanted a share. They had seen from the beast in the Redwood Forest that not all beast would mutate. So, the mutated beasts were still rare.

Some demon beasts had been seen in other locations. However, they were from other continents. That would mean that these beasts were still possible to be monopolized. The world was very big. It was already hard to transport between countries, especially a living demon beast. It was even harder.

Some families had even started to wait next to the city gate. They wanted to buy directly from the hunters. Of course, most hunters weren't stupid. They would create an auction in the demon beast market.

"This is a mutated Iron Horned Rhinoceros!" One person screamed after seeing an auction list. This created an uproar. The mutated Iron Horned Rhinoceros was the main goal of every family. Normally, this species had already been hunted for special iron on its horn. This time the horn had turned into gold. Other than McArthur, some other great families also had tried to catch the beast.

"Tell the elder!" Most agents sent some people to their own branch. This would be the highlight beast of the auction. Most families wanted to have a piece of the cake called breeding gold. The family who hadn't got one wanted to have one. The family, which had got one, wanted to check whether they could use this one for the breeding purpose.

[Are there only 10 golden horned rhinoceros?] Trevon asked.

"Yes, it should be. They were too close to the meteorite site. They got the most mutation. I didn't believe you, human already captured most of them. Your father is truly fast." Master Rabbink complained. He wanted to balance the benefit between demon beasts and cultivator. Yet, those beasts already being hunted. It was lucky to allow some new demons appeared.

"You should use your Scout more often." It told Trevon. "You might find a demon beast that could turn into a demon."

Demons were frightening creatures in the cultivation world. At the least, they would be a Rank 3 Demon Beast. They also could steal the spiritual energy from the world. This added with their core would make a demon already far stronger than a normal cultivator. A demon would require 4 cultivators of the same level to defeat.

While there were numerous demon beasts, only few could become a demon. Most demon beasts were limited by their own limitation. The example was rabbink. Most rabbinks were Rank 0 demon beasts. Only very few rabbink could reach Primary Rank 1 demon beasts. From those few, even fewer could go higher. Rabbink had lots population. Yet, there had only been a rabbink which was discovered to reach Rank 2 demon beast in the entire history of Society of Demon Beast Hunter. Perhaps there would be a stronger rabbink in the history, but cultivator world hadn't found it. Most locations were dominated by demon beasts. Out of numerous demon beasts, only very few lucky demon beasts could become a demon.

However, these few were very powerful. By becoming a demon, a demon beast could change their body into a humanoid form. It this form, they could infiltrate into cultivator society. To make thing worst, they could cultivate and increased their power even higher. It was even said in a legend that the most powerful being in the world was a demon.

Trevon disagreed with this legend. Yesterday, he learned that a rabbink was the most powerful creature in the world, no, in the universe, no, in the entire universes. It even didn't have to turn into a demon. [What would those famous cultivators do if they learned that they were far below a rabbink?]

Trevon had tried to use the Scout skill multiple times. "There is nothing." He sighed.

"What is nothing?" Raina asked. She was taking Trevon trough many stores to find other new and cute demon beasts. While she was far better than Trevon who planned to use the demon beast as a tool to boast and getting a girl. She was still as a young lady from top cultivation family. Collecting a demon beast was a method to socialize.

"There is no powerful demon beast." Trevon complained. Unlike a human, demon beast didn't have lots of room for growth. Even those mutated beasts only had a tiny room for growth. At best, Trevon found a demon beast with 10 points difference between their current power and maximum potential. They would end as a stronger beast.

"This wouldn't be easy." Master Rabbink said. "But I see one here in this market." It laughed.

Trevon really wanted to punch This Rabbink. [The Market is this huge. I can't see all beasts in here, right? There are millions of beasts here. I believe I could level the Scout skill to the max when I found that one.]

"Who said you could? You would only level it some levels higher. Gwahahaha."

"There are numerous powerful demon beasts here." Raina said. "Besides, the problem is that you won't be able to handle such demon beast. Hehehe." She laughed.

Only a few demon beast species could be tamed. Most demon beasts could only be half-tamed. Only cultivators could order them. The controller must be at least close in Rank to the demon beast. However, for a tamer, it was already good enough. A beast tamer could make their beast fighting for them. They didn't need to learn many martial arts. They could focus on their cultivations and increased their cultivation Rank faster.

"Who said that? I would definitely find the strongest beast here." Trevon boasted. As a young master, the most hurtful thing was to hear a ridicule, especially from girls. Raina was a famous girl in Redwood, soon it would reach other top girls in the city. [Isn't Master Rabbink said there would be one who could turn into a demon? That beast could reach Rank 3 at the worst.] He thought.

"Fine, let's compete who could buy the most powerful beast. We will battle our beasts." Raina smiled. She loved to beat this annoying cousin of her. [He needs to learn his position.]

"Good." Trevon agreed.

"The loser would pay for the other person's demon beast." Raina proposed a bet. "You can pay the cost next month after the allowance given." She knew Trevon lost his money. She already prepared to win as Trevon wouldn't be able to purchase a high-rank beast. Demon Beast wouldn't acknowledge a too weak cultivator as its master.

Those two, then competed to find the most powerful beast they could find. Trevon used his skill all the time, he even got several levels up both for his skills and his job as a recruiter. He didn't even skip the weaker beast. He had been defeated by a rabbink yesterday, with an OTK at that. He learned not to look things at the face value.

It was the night at that time, Raina had decided on a demon beast. It was a powerful Swan type beast. It was very powerful but being a tamed beast, it could only follow orders.

"Have you found your beast?" She smiled.

"Just wait!" Trevon had seen the beast's potential before. It was a powerful beast at Peak Rank 1. If not for being tamed, it wouldn't follow Raina order. The seller didn't realize the beast was already a Rank 1 demon beast. If he realized, he wouldn't sell the tamed beast.

He couldn't lose. Trevon would lose almost all his next month allowance since Raina purchased it at 9.900 spirit stones. It was a fair price for a Top Rank 1 beast. But it wasn't a Top Tank 1 demon beast, it was even a Peak Rank 1 Demon Beast. A Top Rank 1 demon beast could even be considered as powerful as Jack, his most powerful bodyguard. This beast was even stronger.

If Trevon had the money, he would buy the beasts. [That girl will realize the maintenance cost next month.] That was the only happiness in his heart. Such a high-rank demon beast would eat more foods. Most swan-type demon beasts were picky about their foods. It would require lots of spirit food to grow.

He scouted another beast. He got a notification after the scout.

[Scout Lv 10 – 1/512.000]

[I really have to scout all of them.] Trevon thought.

"Hm..." Raina felt bored. Trevon was a hard stone. He didn't want to admit his defeat. "I am bored. I will be waiting for you in the home. You couldn't beat my beast." She giggled.

"You guys take the beasts to my ranch." She ordered her bodyguards. "If any family elder wants to purchase, just add some contribution points for me! They can just take those beasts."

"Yes, Young Lady." Raina's bodyguards were more than Trevon's. She was one of the family geniuses after all. There would be an elder secretly protecting her, a Rank 2 warrior at last. If she was successful, the bodyguards would receive numerous indirect benefits from her in the future. Having been together for all these years, she would care for those guards around her. Alvaro's former bodyguards had better and safer position these days.

"Fine, just wait for my beast!" Trevon believed a beast who could reach a demon would beat her swan.

He kept searching one store to another.

[Somebody hadn't purchased it. Right?] He asked Master Rabbink.

This Rabbink had been seeing all various beast in the market. Sometimes it even touched those beasts, creating a chaos in the market. Nobody liked to be touched by an unknown person. These beasts already had some intelligence. How was your feeling if you couldn't see the one who touched you? Scared. That was the feeling of those beasts.

"No, it hasn't been sold. This seems to be delicious." Master Rabbink touched a Peak Rank 1 Beast with a good bloodline. "No. Its meat is too bland for my standard."

Trevon would really cry hearing that. He couldn't purchase that beast. It might cost him 30.000 to 50.000 spirit stones. Even on a normal day, he wouldn't buy that beast.

"I am only eating a dragon for a snack and a Roc for a breakfast." Master Rabbink said.

[Why did you eat all those foods in the dining hall?] Trevon complained.

"Sometimes I want to try the common person foods. I love to try new foods, even if it is not edible. Do not forget a Rabbink eat everything!" It proudly said.

Trevon had drunk several spirit energy recovery potions. He asked Jerry to purchase them for him. The Beast Market was open 24 hours. There would be other employees taking the shift in those stores. The families also send numerous agents to the location.

The auction of the Rhinoceros was another one won by McArthur family. They won it after competing with the Redwood family, the local landlord. That was a competition among giants, so Trevon didn't check it. He was just a small ant compared to the giant families.

He entered a store when the merchant busily promoted his product. There was a big cage with multiple big spiders inside.

"This was the famous Redwood Big Spiders, there were multiple colors. All elements are available! It is useful as a snack for your beloved beast pet." The merchant promoted his products. "Do you want a fire spider for a fire elemental pet? A water spider for a water elemental pet? We cover them all."

"Welcome, Young Master!" He saw Trevon came to his shop. From the clothes worn by Trevon, he knew Trevon was one of the McArthur family young masters.

"Do you want to check the mutated demon beasts?" He offered to bring Trevon to one of the inner locations. The fact that most families competed for mutated demon beasts was known.

Trevon still checked one of the spiders. This was the 236.785 demon beast he checked after leveling scout into Lv 10. He started to feel some pains in his eyes. He was close to reach 1 million beasts scouted. The beast scouting job mission had even reached a high number.

[Name: Unnamed]

[Age: 1 months]

Trevon had removed the day, hours, minutes, and second from this information. After seeing it a hundred thousand of times he was too tired. Removing the number was easy. He only needed not to think about the information. It was as easy as breathing for him.

[Sex: Female]

[Species: Redwood Big Spider]

[Potential: 2/5]

[Determination: 68]

[Cultivation Speed: 21]

[Loyalty: 20]

[Talent: Weaving, Assassination, Poison Making, Climbing]

[Ability: Poison Inject]

Name was the information unlocked at Lv 10. He could get a girl name even without getting close to her. This motivated Trevon more. At Lv 9, he unlocked Age. This could prevent him from being cheated by a beautiful granny. It also prevented him from being called pedophile in the future. He really hoped weight and 3 sizes would appear soon.

At Lv 8, he unlocked Ability. Master Rabbink told him that this would show martial arts learned by cultivators and demon, abilities inherited by demon beasts, and finally the skills of Gods. If he met one, of course.

At Lv 7, he unlocked Talent. Master Rabbink told him that this would show one or more activities which the target would be good at. The example was bird-type demon beast had flying talent. On the other hand, water-type demon beast had swimming talent.

Most people in the beast market talents were either selling, buying, managing, promoting, scouting, taming, grooming, and many more. Most people had more talents than one. Master Rabbink said, most demon beasts would have more talents after they turned into Demons. There were limited things a demon beast could do because of their form. This was why humanoid was the end form of demon beasts.

At Lv 6, he unlocked Loyalty. Master Rabbink told him that this was not a number to determine a person's loyalty to a certain organization. This was a number that showed how loyal a person was. A person with high loyalty value would repay the kindness with loyalty. It also showed the number of faithfulness to a partner. Loyalty to an organization would appear on a higher Scout's level under the term Affiliation. Therefore, a spy might be a person with high loyalty value, but to a different organization.

At Lv 5, he unlocked Species. He loved this information, he could know all these beast species. Master Rabbink told him that it would use the local name. So, he didn't need to be afraid if he went to another location that didn't have a standardized beast's name. He could use the beast's name with the local people.

If the species hadn't discovered by the cultivators in the planet, the skill would show the name given by other people from other regions, other planets, other realms, and finally other universes. It was similar why Master Rabbink talked about Golden Horned Rhinoceros before the name had been checked.

If it was really a new species, Trevon even could get a huge number from selling the gene data to other Gods. Master Rabbink said he could sell it for Trevon with just 20% sales fee.

At Lv 4, he unlocked Sex information. Trevon loved this information. He wanted to find a female crystal fox. It helped him to check whether a beast was a male or a female. This information would also useful to him for his love life. There would be no chance that he was trapped by the beautiful cross-dresser men. He had learned it the hard lesson. Do not ask him! It was a trauma.

At Lv 3, he unlocked Cultivation Speed. This number was similar to Determination. It had a maximum number of 100. It told about the speed of one's cultivation. In general, a person with a high value of Cultivation Speed could reach higher rank first before people with a lesser number. Of course, the cultivation technique would affect the result.

After unlocking cultivation speed information, Trevon realized people in the world were wrong. They had decided on talent based on testing cultivation speed. Normally people checked by the absorption speed of a spirit stone. Most people wouldn't even have the chance to test a spirit stone. A spirit stone was 1.000 gold coins after all. The mistake was the reason why some people, who were considered talented, stuck at a certain Rank.

However, the cultivators were using the right method. People with low cultivation speed wouldn't reach high Ranking. They would die first before reaching their maximum potential. By checking the ancestor, cultivators could predict the potential based on the gene. Cultivators already found the correct formula to select future generations by combining gene information and absorption speed.

[This wasn't the one.] Trevon continued to scout the demon beasts. He continued to scout until he read some information.
