The Damage

It was 24.00 at night when the last match concluded. There were already twenty female attendants in Trevon's room.

"You are all my lucky Goddess. I will give you all one hundred spirit stones each." Trevon felt happy. He took two thousand spirit stones and gave them to the ladies.

Based on his calculation he had won over four hundred million spirit stones. That came from his assets of two hundred and fifty thousand spirit stones.

Other than him, his bodyguards also followed their young master's gamble. Berger was the lucky one. He didn't stop. His unused fifty spirit stones turned into 18.937,42 spirit stones.

The others weren't so lucky. Most of them stopped after they got around nine hundred spirit stones. That was a big number for a low cultivator like them. Those bodyguards finally took the risk again during the last two bets. Nevertheless, they already missed some chances to increase their money. They ended with something around 2.345,05 spirit stones.

"You have to treat us, Berger!" Jonathan grabbed the boy.

"Hehehe! I will. I will." Berger had become richer than most common merchants. [Following the young master is the correct decision in my life.] He felt happy with his choice.

"I don't know what happened to our young master today." Jerry felt so shocked. He took the winning slip and brought it to Trevon. The smart bodyguards even asked other bodyguards to help him protect the slip. That slip contained a number bigger than some small families' assets.

Trevon was still partying with those girls when Jerry knocked at the door. He felt satisfied to deal some financial blow. [Hahaha.] The number one young master always the one who laughed in the end.

"Thank you for today, Girls! Let me trade this to spirit stones!" Trevon was happy. He forgot most of the winning would be taken by Master Rabbink.

[Gwahahaha.] The Rabbink was happy when it was writing this. Finally, it didn't need Trevon to treat it.

At the same time in Redwood Family Pavilion. In a secret courtyard, that only very high-rank member of the family could enter, a few elderlies were surrounding a table.

"There have been many problems in the city lately." An elder complained.

"This must be because of those Great Families. They are friends in front, but stab us in the back." Another elder replied.

"We should clean the mess harshly. We still didn't know how a mere talisman maker could have that many talismans. Jacob also disappeared. Our city also experienced meteor, earthquake, and hurricane. We only lack a forest fire or demon beast wave." Another elder felt frustrated.

"Do not jinx it! We need to solve it one by one." A serious looking elder said. "We have managed to handle the expensive sword case. Issabella McArthur had made some destructions on the city that give us the chance to avoid the payment."

"We also had young master Lucas Redwood looking for trouble with that same Trevon and his grandmother." The elder didn't dare to speak the name Issabella.

"That is fine. Today we have many extra troubles appeared. It isn't normal. Read today report!" An elder with an old face showed a report.

"Fighting in Immoral Winehouse. Young Master Lopez Pomenade and his gang fought with Rocxon Punmel and his gang. They were all young masters and ladies from small and medium cultivation families. Their families used to be close with us!" He read.

"We also have this. Young Master Justin McArthur forcefully took a young man's treasures in the street. Even a McArthur had this kid in the city. I remember his father punished him to seclude in the cultivation room for ten years. It hadn't been two years. Yet the kid is outside again. This must be their doing. It is impossible for such a young master to run away."

"Knock... Knock... Knock..." A pale elder entered the room. He didn't wait for being allowed to enter.

"This is insane... We are doomed. Doomed." The elder sent a report.

"What's wrong?" The silent family leader spoke. For an elder to intrude on this meeting, that must mean something big happened.

"We have a very huge loss in the arena. This is a catastrophe." The elder had cold sweats on his body.

The family leader of the Redwood family was Claudio Redwood. He was a powerful Top Rank 3 warrior. Claudio took the report and read it.

"What is this?!!! Why didn't I know this?!!! Who is the one responsible?!!!" He screamed after reading it.

[It is the family leader yourself. You ask Grand Elder Vaulen to handle the Arena trouble using the common arena strategies.] The other elders only looked into their family leader.

"Let me see!" Viero took the report. Before he slammed it on the table. "Do they want to kill our family?"

The rest of the elders looked at the report. They were all turned pale.

"We might lose the arena." One of them said.

"Without the arena, we are not like the owner of this city." Another elder said. All were dejected.

Back to Trevon in the arena.

"What is this number?!!!" Trevon was so shocked. He tried to count the number manually. The ticket was valued at over six and half billion spirit stones.

"The family added ten million spirit stones at the third bet to have fun together with young master. It turned into 6.271.273.537,34 spirit stones. Young master's money turned into 415.409.163,57 spirit stones." Jerry explained.

"Young Master would get a very huge contribution point for this success." Jerry reminded. He was afraid Trevon would use that money on the spot. The money must be returned to the family.

"What is this?" Trevon didn't know his family rode on his coattails. [This must be why so many times, those girls came in and outside the room. The manager even came directly to suggest a pick.]

"Your grandmother wanted you to enjoy the city, so she added more money to increase the excitement." Jerry said. He was told to say this sentence if Trevon asked.

Trevon didn't know why, but his grandmother must have some reasons. His grandmother alone wouldn't spend ten million spirit stones just for excitement. This might be for the family.

[Did they think I could only win small? So, they give extra money to recover my loss from Redwood family. I only get two and a half millions from those wins. The Rabbink still gets over four hundred million, and my family gets over six billion.] Trevon wanted to cry. He was the one betting, but he got the least amount.

"Gwahahaha." The Rabbink was happy with four hundred million spirit stones. It could eat many foods. Erm... It could research some foods in the city.

Trevon looked to the twenty ladies who didn't know whether they wanted to smile or not.

Those ladies knew about the gambling since the number was very high. Their manager even directly entered the room and suggested a certain warrior. This young master always picked the warrior suggested. Yet, he always won.

Everyone was wondering. Everything was strange today. [Did the family want to give money to this young master?]

At the same time again, at the Redwood family meeting.

"Do you think if we use the common tactics this would happen?" The family leader was angry. He slammed the report to the table and destroyed the innocent table.

"Grand Elder Vaulen still checked everything. We have fixed every match started when the order was given."

"Then how could this happen?"

"There was a weaker demon beast who suddenly ranked up on the arena. Its opponent was defeated." One of the elders read the report.

"We also had a fight when suddenly our fighter was hit on his weak point when they pretended to fight. The chance was one in a billion. Nobody ever told their own weakness point. Yet, this happened." He continued.

"We also even drugged a demon beast so it would be drunken, yet its random attack somehow hits our fighters to his death." Even the elder didn't believe this lucky chance happened. He continued to mention several strange accidents.

"We even set a fight between a novice and an elder of our family. Yet the elder suddenly didn't feel good. He got a stomachache because of his breakfast. The novice managed to defeat our elder in ten moves. These all happened while we selected the candidates for him to bet. He selected them all based on our suggestion. In short, we gave him the victories."

"There is something fishy. There must be a manipulation. We should announce this! This will make the gambling considered void." One of the harsh elders said. Six billion was a big number for their family.

"How could we announce that we did matches fixing and he is still winning? Do you want our family to become a laughingstock?"

"Then what should we do. Six billion isn't a small number."

"The kid couldn't have that much money to gamble. In this round, he must get his family's support. McArthur family is behind this." Viero looked into the sudden increase in Trevon's bet.

"This must be McArthur family's plan. They may fix the matches before us." Another elder argued. He saw the sudden increase in the bet.

"That is impossible. We decided which candidates fight. We decided which candidates that he chose. We even fixed the result. If the World Arena Union found we would lose our official status. There is nothing that we could explain."

"Then put the blame on McArthur family." One of the elders said passionately.

"How?" The serious-faced elder said. "It is easy to speak. Even if we could, it would be another laughingstock. That equal to declare McArthur family managed to fix that many matches on our arena. Besides, we didn't have any proofs."

"Then make those proofs!" Another elder shouted. Some elders actually thought about to make some their own proofs.

"If it fails, we also need to negotiate with the kid. We should ask for payment in installment and delay the payment as far as we could." One of the elders suggested.

"..." Viero only looked to the conversation. He had seen the kid before. That kid was just another spoiled young master that their family had many. [What should we do? F*CK! Why couldn't our young master as useful as him?] He thought.

These six billion spirit stones were a huge number for their family. Redwood family wasn't as big as McArthur. Even for the McArthur family, this number was big. Their arena only could generate three to four hundred million spirit stones per year. They had huge operating cost for capturing demon beasts, healing warrior, hiring warriors, and many more.

Normally they just needed to focus on the big whales. They couldn't allow the big whale to continue winning. While for common people, they couldn't bet with huge money. Most of them would lose to the winning ratio in the first place. If some common people managed to win, the family could use them as an advertisement for the arena.

'You can get rich!' That was their gambling box slogan. Yet today, a big whale got rich.

Viero started to think. [Should I just marry Olivia to the kid? He wouldn't charge that much money to his in-law, right?]

[This can't do. She is our family genius princess. I also have told about her transfer to the capital to that Prince. Changing it would court bigger disaster. Olivia would give more benefit to the family if she managed to enter imperial families.] The ancient elder needed time to ponder. It was an important matter for their family.

"Ancient Elder, what is your opinion?" Claudio woke Viero from his thought. He wanted to hear Viero's opinion. Viero was the strongest in their family.

"I will try to talk with Issabella McArthur, she is his grandmother. You should also come with me, Claudio. She is also a Peak Rank 3 warrior now. We need more power to balance our bargaining when we negotiate. We might need to sell some assets. I think a big chance, we would lose the Arena. I hope that boy, Vaulen managed to do something." Viero admitted.

"I believe they would ask us for hard cash. This is the rule of the arena." Claudio said.

"We will try. Don't think for the best! We all know who Issabella is." Viero sighed. He wasn't confident to negotiate with the lady.

All Redwood elders could only lower their heads. All thought the methods.

"We will discuss what assets that we could offer in exchange of hard cash." Viero said.

The elder continued their discussion. Some argued what assets that they should offer. Most didn't want to lose the arena itself. Declaring arena bankruptcy was the easiest. Yet, it would mean the arena would belong to McArthur family. That was the largest pie of controlling a city.

Issabella also in the similar meeting with other McArthur elders.

"We have got good news from Grand Elder Vivian and Grand Elder Owen. Their research managed to result in a positive answer. They would continue to search for this treasure." She read the report.

All elders clapped their hands. They were in high spirit. The chance for their family to grow was in front of their eyes.

"We should increase our distractions this week. We will bring the treasure with the returning troops soon. The biggest problem was with Family Leader and Grand Elder Spencer. We haven't got any news from them." Grand Elder Issabella said.

"We have to believe in them. They were the strongest fighters for this mission. We could only wait for their report. Even if there were a sudden beast wave, they would be able to return." Elder Charles said.

"Knock... Knock..."

All elder stopped their discussion. It must be an important message to disturb their meeting.

Charles went and saw Darvis giving him a small paper before closing the door again.

Charles had told Darvis to give ten million for Trevon to mess around. He hoped Trevon managed to get his two and a half million spirit stones back before returning the money to the family.

The Redwood branch leader knew his nephew was a calculated and not harsh gambler. Besides, Charles betted Master Creator would help his nephew.

[What is this? Did he lose? That isn't important.] Charles said using spiritual sense. He opened the report. Ten million spirit stones were prepared to distract some Redwood family elders' attention.

"HAAAH?!!!" Charles was surprised by the message. He lost his elder prestige.

"What's wrong Elder Charles?" Issabella asked.

"We have a good problem. Redwood family would start to look for us tonight. We could attract their attention with prolonged negotiation." Charles said. He took the piece of paper to Issabella.

Issabella believed Trevon would win. Trevon had the help of Master Creator. The mysterious master was more powerful than her. She believed the master could judge which candidates could win and increased Trevon's chance.

"Let me see! Eh?!!!" Issabella saw the paper. "Do you have any detailed information?" Issabella didn't believe the result. [Did Redwood family not fix any matches? Impossible!]

She didn't know Master Creator was a God of Destiny. Therefore, no fixing could work with the Rabbink.

Charles went outside the room to ask Darvis. Since Darvis got the hourly reports of the fight and Trevon's results.

"I will tell the news... I have put some family money to join Trevon in betting. We had just won six billion spirit stones." Issabella started to explain her and Charles's plan with Trevon. They wanted the Redwood family to look at Trevon and his gambles.

Charles soon returned with a black face. He didn't know whether he should tell his nephew's debauchery actions to the meeting. [Twenty girls. All choices were picked by those girls.]

"How did Trevon manage to cheat so much money from Redwood family?" Elder John was interested in the story. Getting six billion for the family, that would be a huge contribution.

Charles told what happened from Jerry point of view. "He started to change the ratio by using gossip." The elder continued to tell Trevon's method.

[So, he used some kids to change the rate slightly. He is smart.] Elder John thought this spoiled young master actually smart. [If he spread his money, he could get some money from a few domes. If he got a better ratio probability, he would win eventually. Especially, since the family had added more money to his bet.] However, the old elder still confused with the result. [That shouldn't end with that much money.]

"He bet all the money in one fight every time. From the morning until midnight, he rolled the bet and made it higher."

[What he put all money in a continues rolling?] The elder was so shocked. This gave a higher rate, but in the end was the difficulty to control self-greediness. The winners would end with nothing.

Charles continued to tell the method and conditions of each bet.

"What did Elder Charles say before?" Elder John stopped Charles's story.

"He asked all pick from the female attendants." Charles couldn't believe this too.

"Is he crazy? Did we trust this kid with ten million spirit stones for fun?" Elder John almost lost his heart.

"Doesn't this mean that Redwood family just gave us six billion spirit stones? Did they fix the match so we would win? It is impossible." Josephine found it was strange.

"Yes, I don't believe this. Yet, he had his winning ticket. I actually bet that Master Creator would help him." Charles said. "However, Trevon had a problem when he tried to exchange it."

"We should help him." Elder Lorry, who had a poor opinion of Trevon, this time decided to help. Six billion from Redwood family was equal to grab a big share of Redwood City.

"I will go to that place with Grand Elder Vince. This is only to protect him. We will handle the bargaining after we see their chips. We could occupy them with this negotiation. We have to remember our main goal. Six billion is nothing compared to the mutated demon beast." Issabella reminded.

At the same time in the Redwood Martial Arena, Trevon and an arena manager were in a heated argument.

"Hey! What do you mean I couldn't exchange this winning ticket?" Trevon made a huge ruckus. As usual, every Creator including Master Rabbink loved to invite random passersby to increase the word count.

"We are still checking and counting, Young Master." The manager was placed to hold the situation until their family leader came to a decision.

"I have waited for LONG times. What do you need to check? Do you think I cheat? How could I cheat? I even asked your attendant for information. This is pure luck." Trevon complained. He was a young master and rarely needed to wait.

"Yes... Yes..." The manager was being pushed by Trevon. He was only a low-level staff.

The passersby of course, always shared gossips.

"What happened?" A passerby asked someone that he didn't know.

"It seems this young master from McArthur couldn't trade his winning ticket." The gossiper just happened to exchange his winning ticket before Trevon. Master Rabbink intentionally made this person heard everything.

"This couldn't do. An arena must accept their winning ticket." A die-hard arena fan declared. He knew everything about the arena's rule. Master Rabbink needed people like this fan to give some regulation knowledge.

"I won't do any gambling in the arena if I couldn't redeem my winning ticket." Another frequent arena visitor said.

"We couldn't trust Redwood family. I want my money now." A winning gambler felt angry.

The last words made the situation more chaotic. Some winning gamblers who hadn't managed to cash their winning rush into the gambling box. Those who had exchanged felt lucky. They were afraid Redwood family would renegade on their bet.

"I heard the Redwood family needed more money to repair the problem of their young masters."

"Yes, the hurricane and earthquake dealt considered amount damage to the city."

"We can't trust Redwood family to lead the city." The commoners gossiped.

There were even some losers who believed the McArthur family had been fixing some matches. This was why they believed this young master couldn't redeem his ticket. Perhaps this young master did some fixings.

"Is he cheating?" A passerby asked. He wasn't planted by Master Rabbink. This passerby came from Redwood family.

"Yes. He must fix the matches."

"No, I heard from my family's neighbor whose sister worked as an attendant that the young master won sixteen matches in a row. He also used the attendants' suggestions." This man clearly appeared by Master Rabbink's manipulation. The last match just ended and he had got the gossip.

"You can't fix sixteen matches, that is crazy. Impossible." A passerby said. Those fighters were usually on the arena side.

"So, he used attendants' suggestions? That young master is crazy."

"Look! I will ask for attendant suggestion next time." Another gambler said. He lamented his loss.

"Who is he?"

"I heard his name is Trevon McArthur." Another answered. He had seen Trevon in the fruit market.

"So THAT is the FAMOUS TREVON?" Some girls started to hide. They all had paled face.

"It is believable then." Everybody believed this famous Trevon would really use beautiful attendants' suggestions.

"This would be fun." Male passersby were even increased. They couldn't wait to see a confrontation between two big families.

"Look! The family leader of the Redwood family comes." Somehow master Rabbink found a person who knew the important people in Redwood family.

"The man next to him was even more dignified." A lady passerby commented. Viero still looked handsome for common people.

"On that side!" A passerby pointed in another direction.

"Those are the elders of McArthur family." A passerby shouted. He was planted by the Rabbink.

"This would be fun." The passersby finally got to see the high ranked cultivator confronted each other.

Master Rabbink even had created some strange disturbances to make sure both families arrived at the same time. This would make a good show for its novel.

Do you think those events in novels an accident? No. Those were their Creators worked hard to make those coincidences for the main character. [Gwahahaha.] The Rabbink felt proud of its manipulation.
