Blue Sea

We ride the horse in medium pace after left the village, not too slow and not too fast either. Chief Harvard takes the lead as road guide to the sea. I follow him in 2-3 meter distance behind. Since we leave in the morning, the weather is not hot but refreshing. The scenery along the way is beautiful, but the most beautiful scenery is laying in front of my eyes.

Yes, it's Silvie that I'm talking about. Her braless big breast is juggling and bouncing happily when the horse makes a hop over uneven road. The owner herself didn't realize it because she looking at the scenery along the way. She seems to enjoy the journey because this may be her first time going out to the sea or maybe because she can go together with someone she loves?

After two hours ride on the horseback, suddenly a growling sound coming from my belly. Ah, I've eaten nothing since the morning, no wonder my belly makes that sound. Silvie who heard that sound giggling and grinned ear to ear.

"Ikki, are you hungry? Want to eat something?"

"Yeah, but your father look like want to keep riding without rest until we arrive at the sea"

"Wait, I bring some Frikadel with me"

With one hand she takes a Frikadel from her bag because I'm holding the horse reins, she had to feed me with that.

"Ikki, open your mouth…aammmm"

With one bite I chew half of Frikadel that she feed to me. Silvie looks at how I eat that Firkadel also put the rest of Firkadel in her mouth. Ugh, I want to cry from happiness, we haven't married yet but we already share the same food together like newly married couples. After eating some, finally my hunger appeased and I can ride the horse with more concentration. Silvie, who also eat some, after feeling full lean her head back to my chest and locked her hand in my waist. She starts to close her beautiful eyes.

Hey hey, don't tell me you want to sleep, Silvie. Are you a cow or something? How could you sleep on the horseback like this? But her innocent sleeping face is so cute and adorable, I can't force her to stay awake coz she maybe tired for this long ride too. All I can do is ride more carefully, fortunately, the horse that I ride is easy to control, unlike a wild horse.

One more hour after that, I can start to smell salty air from the wind in front of me, indicating we already near the sea. Ten minutes later, I can hear the waves hit the shore, yeah we close to the sea.

"Master Ikki, we almost there"

Chief Harvard inform me that we almost reach our destination

"Yes, chief. I can feel the air and hear the wave"

We slowing down our horse run and find the path to the shore from the woods.

"Ikki…are we arrived yet?"

Silvie seems to wake up from hearing I and chief Harvard talking.

"Not yet, a little bit more"

"Ummm…I can smell the sea aroma from here"

She takes a deep breath and tries to feel the sea atmosphere. After five minutes later, we arrive at the edge of the woods and a vast blue sea with a white sand beach exposed in front of our eyes

"So this is sea," said Chief Harvard

"It's beautiful…" said Silvie with full admiration tone.

Since there's no place to tie our horse in the beach, we stop our horse and tied them up at a tree on the edge of the wood. Silvie who already excited looking the sea already run into the shore while we tied the horse. After putting down my backpack, take off my jacket, trouser and my shoes, me and chief Harvard following Silvie into the shore.

"Father! Father! Come quick! Try taste this water"

Silvie who already step into the seawater and playing with it, urging her father to come to the shore faster and taste the seawater. Hearing the enthusiastic words from her daughter, chief Harvard also speeding his walk to the shore. After he arrived in the water, he tries to take a scoop and taste the water

"This…..this really have garam taste. Master Ikki is right, we can get garam from here"

Chief Harvard looks excited after tasting the sea water, but to make salters in this white sand beach feels like a waste. The beach view is too beautiful to turn into a salt field. If this is in Japan, It would turn into a luxurious resort instead.

"Ah yeah chief, but as you see, all around here is sand. The seawater will quickly be absorbed before its evaporated by sunlight. We should find a place near the sea that can turn into the field."

I make drawing in the sand how the salt field would be. It should have at least two fields or pools. The first pool used to condensates the seawater, and the second pool used to crystallization the salt. After the sunlight evaporated the seawater in the first pool which makes the salt content in the water increased, the condensate seawater drained to the second pool to make the water completely evaporated leaves the salt crystal while the seawater fills the first pool again. The circle repeated again and again until the salt layer in the second pool is high enough to harvest.

Chie Harvard nodded hearing my explanation. He's an educated person, of course, he will easier take my explanation compared with common people.

"Hmmm…I understand your explanation master Ikki. I also know why you ask many labor force, this indeed need many workers to do. And about the field site, you're right about that. We must find solid ground that closer to the shore, also good for settlement. Since there're only three of us here, let's split the team. I will go to the left, you and Silvie go to the right. We look for a good place to make the field. We meet in here later after our shadow length is twice from its original (around 2 p.m). Take some Frikadels for lunch"

"That's sound good chief. Let's do it"

So after left some Frikadel from his bag to me, chief Harvard starts to explore the left side area of the beach on his horseback. Leaving me and Silvie together on this quiet beach.
