Drifting along a path of stars surround by the endless void was a young boy, his eyes closed, breathing steadily, he seemed to be at peace, like nothing could affect him. Until at that moment he felt a slight sting in the center of his forehead. Grimacing from the pain which aroused his inner conscious, he became aware of where he was, or more so of where he wasn't, scared of his surroundings yet only being able to curl himself into a ball, with his arms tucked over his knees, and closing his eyes in an attempt to forget where he was.
The sting knocked upon his forehead yet once more, and soon after the silence which had been accompanying him since he arrived was broken.
"My son, my time speaking with you unfortunately has to be kept short so I wont ramble. You will be drifting along for quite some time to come, travelling to the Spirit Realm is no easy feat after all. Just relax and keep calm and you be there in no time at all." Gu Lingxin said.
Even though the young boy knew that there was no one truly there he still nodded his head.
"You will be going to live at the Gu family within the Spirit Realm, residing there are your ancestors, those whom didn't accompany the original Clan Master. You will live with a loving step-mother, who will truly love you like her own. My hope is that you can do the same, she will be your rock in the future to come, there to support and nurture you. Lastly, I want you to know that your mother and I love you from the bottom of our hearts. All right Wulin, I have to go now, goodbye" ...
Coming in and out of conscious Wulin continued to drift in space until slowly he began to notice the faint outline of something huge ahead of him.
Wulin's curiosity would no longer allow himself to keep his eyes closed, coming closer and closer he began to see things that made him ecstatic,"I can see land, LAND, and water, there's water too", Wulin thought.
Although those things may seem trivial on there own, but to Wulin who had seen nothing but blackness for the longest time it was like a dream come true!
As Wulin was getting closer to the barrier separating the spirit realm from the void he was currently in he began to get hotter, sweat began to form on his forehead, just as Wulin began to pant a cool feeling started to spread, beginning from his chest a small protective bubble gradually got larger until it was just big enough to encompass him.
Although there was a bubble protecting Wulin from the heat it couldn't stop the pressure that descending brought, causing Wulin's conscious to shut down, leaving him in a state of serenity.
...
Spirit Realm, Platform of Ascension,
Standing in the center of the Ascension platform was a middle-aged man. He had long black hair with tinges of grey mixed in, a clean shaven face, with sharp eyes that seemed as though they could cut through steel. Standing closest to him was a woman, whom was constantly fidgeting with herself, seemingly trying to keep her mind occupied so she wouldn't think of all the ways this situation could end badly.
On the other side of the middle-aged man was a young girl. Hearing a constant tapping sound ring out on the stone underneath her feet she curiously looked towards the source, her eyes suddenly widened as much as they could, standing in front of her was Aunt Yun, who always seemed cold, calm, and collected. Yet at the moment she was frantically straightening her clothing and hair as though to look her best. As the young girl was about to ask what was wrong with her the middle-aged man in between them suddenly looked up towards the sky, drawing her attention there instead.
As a sense of relief overcame the middle-aged man his figure relaxed, the young girl standing next to him noticed this and took it as a cue to question him,"father, father, is he here yet!? Can you see him out there!?" She said whilst turning up to look at the sky. Without waiting for a response she rained out another barrage of questions! "Is he nice? Will he play with me? What's he like father?"
" I'm sure he will, as for what he's like, well ..., you'll just have to figure out yourself." The middle aged man said.
"Now calm.....", Interrupting him was a loud screeching sound, like paper being torn, yet on a much larger scale. Looking away from his daughter his vision returned the to the sky just in time to see a large fiery ball come into sight. Quickly jumping into action he began to fly toward's the ball of fire.
The young girl seeing where her father was headed became scared and started calling out to him, "where are you going daddy!, come back here!, I don't want to live without my daddy.", she said as tears began to form at the corner of her eyes.
Getting closer to the ball of fire shooting towards the ground the middle age man began to slow down, at the same time nature began to swirl around him as the pupil of his eye turned from black to a beaming blue color. Slowly water began to converge around him, swirling until it looked like their was a large lake surrounding him. With the look of up-most seriousness plastered on his face the man began to move the water steadily towards the ball of flame, getting closer and closer until the outer most edge of fire and water met, creating a massive amount of steam. Similar to running a flaming hot pan under water the steam was continuously produced until finally the fire began to subside, leaving behind nothing but a child encased in a small bubble.
Without a source of heat to stimulate the bubble it began to recede becoming smaller and smaller until it disappeared to where it originated from, Wulin's chest.
Hesitation not present in the middle-aged man's steps he began to move towards the still unconscious Wulin, beginning to gently using his own soul force to invade Wulin's mind he started to stimulate Wulin's consciousness, causing Wulin to return to the land of the living.
...
Opening his eyes, the first thing Wulin saw was a middle-aged man, staring intently at him Wulin meekly asked, "who are you?"
"My name is Gu Wei, and were going to be living together for awhile during your stay here in Spirit Realm, aah, right, how could I almost forget to ask, what's might be your name young one?" Gu Wei said while showing a kind smile to the child.
"Wulin, my name is Gu Wulin" Wulin responded lowering his guard a bit hearing that they belonged to the same clan, and would be living alongside each other from now on.
"Good! Good! Wulin, an excellent name indeed! Now Wulin, should we head down from here to introduce you to everybody." Gu Wei said still carrying the same kind smile on his face.
Thinking that he probably wouldn't have much say in the matter anyways Wulin just nodded his head to express his agreement.
Moving through the air Wulin got a better look of his surroundings, well, what there was to see of them. Directly below them was a open plain, with nothing but a few animals trampling over blades of grass that were blowing in the wind.
To his left and right were forest that from up here seemed as though they went on forever, at least, he couldn't see the end of them.
Looking straight ahead now, Wulin saw what looked to be a great big city, with buildings reaching the sky, some made from metals, others made from various woods each unique in there own aspect, yet perhaps the most intriguing were the ones that seemed as though they had elements coursing throughout them like blood would course throughout veins in a body.
Using his hands like little binoculars Wulin saw a total of 5 buildings that had elements running through them. As Wulin began to look harder at the buildings trees suddenly began to rise from the bottom of his eyes replacing the buildings that had been there a moment ago. The building's no longer there to occupy himself he began to get anxious about meeting everyone, especially his new step-mother.
...
Some where in the forest, semi-close to Wulin's current location,
"Hey!, did you see that?", a shadowy figure said while crouching in a bush leaving just his head exposed.
"Of course i saw that!, How couldn't i have seen that you numb-nuts! I swear to god your more stupid than a pig...", a similar looking shadow replied to him, while shaking his head in disappointment at his friends IQ level.
"Well if you saw it, than what do you think it was?", the first shadow said while recalling the flaming object that was rocketing to the ground.
"Even i haven't ever seen something come through the sky like that before, but, there is only one person I can think of capable enough to control that staggering amount of water.", the second shadow said whilst shivering just from thinking about who it was. "Either way, this is not something the likes of us can covet, the only option is to report it to The Boss, at least this way we might be able to get a finders fee." the second shadow continued on.
"Truly wise brother, truly wise, it's no wonder your the leader!", the first shadow said.
"Hahaha, of course, now let us get out of here before someone notices us." the second shadow said while basking in the praise he received.
Within a few breaths of time the scene where the two shadows had been talking was empty, almost as though there was no one there at all. If someone were to show up there now they wouldn't even be able to find any clues that someone was there, clearly they were experienced at this kind of thing.
