Lin Feng Yu

She was sitting in front of a cooper mirror, staring at the reflection in it. The little girl in the mirror looked like only 10 or 11 years old. She had a bandage on her head along with two purplish bruises on the corner of her right eye and cheek. Seemed like it was caused by a violent collision.

The little girl wore a gray dirty clothes that only-god-knows how long it had not been changed. Her cheekbones protruded, showing how skinny she was. Her hair was a little bit sticky and dirty. Don't mention about her both bulging eyes…

Jing Yi sighed, feeling helpless. What is she facing right now?

[She doesn't deserve it. After all she is cursed]

[Don't let her leave this courtyard even for a step]

Her brain could make a simple conclusion from both remarks. She had been transmigrate into a body of a little girl who is said to be cursed and had been ostracized by her family!

"What a bad luck…", she murmured as she covered her face with both of her palms.

[I could accept the reality that I've been transmigrate into someone's body, but why must this girl's...? God, how can you be so unfair…]

She wailed inwardly.

Although this girl was actually a beauty, Jing Yi couldn't feel a single happiness at all. What use of a beautiful face if she can't have a good live? Maybe one day she will get killed!

A sudden realization came just like a clap of thunder in broad daylight. What if her guess will come true in the future? Or tomorrow? Or next seconds?

This only thought had frightened her.

[No! I won't let that happened!]

Although she still couldn't remember everything - she didn't know why - , she still had to protect her life with all cost. Life is precious afterall. Who want to die so young in miserable state? No one, of course.

Thus, she finally decided. The first step she should take was to ensure that she could pass through her daily life safely.

[But how…?]

Jing Yi rubbed her stomach. Actually she was hungry, but even until this time, she still hadn't eaten yet.

She didn't even know when the last time she ate.

[They really plan to starve me to death, don't they?]

Jing Yi sneered in her heart. What a way to kill your own kin. She couldn't help but thought about the middle-aged man who came in the afternoon.

[Let your father talk to her some more. She is your little sister afterall]

Jing Yi remembered the gaze he threw at her. Cold and without any fatherly love. Such a cold and heartless father. But although she was upset, Jing Yi knew that she must be careful. No matter what she mustn't provoke this man!

Jing Yi pondered for a long time. Without her realizing it, the sun set and the day turned into night. Her stomach wasn't willing to compromise anymore and rumbling so loudly.

"I need to find some food…", she mumbled to herself.

Jing Yi decided to check outside. The moment she opened the door, she perplexed. Her jaw was dropped so low that it almost touch the floor.

She was greeted by the sight of a dark and barren courtyard! No tree, no flower. Nothing. The only light came from the moonlight.

Fortunately, there was still a single weed growing between a crack on the ground...

Wait. The ground!

The ground was covered with stones. From the small gate in front until the back. Each of them was quite big and cut neatly in rectangular shape. The stone were arranged so neatly one by one that no gaps could be visible.

While she was still in daze, suddenly someone in black hooded cloak jumped from the roof above her. Startled, she unconsciously let out a scream. But the person in front of her was faster.

Jing Yi could feel a callused palm covered her mouth. From the size of the palm, she knew that it was man's.

"Don't scream. It's me.", the man whispered in her ears. "I'll let go. But be quiet. Understand?"

Jing Yi darted her gaze to him. The next moment, she saw the man had already lowered his hood.

A handsome young face came to her sight. Under the moonlight, he looked like a deity. With a high nose bridge, a pair of bright peach blossom eyes, and thin pink lips.

She couldn't help but tilting her head and staring at him in daze.

Looking to the girl's foolish expression, the young man creased his brows.

"What are you looking at? Did your head wounded so badly that you turned into an idiot? Or do you finally realize that your big brother is very handsome?", the young man said while flicking her forehead.

Big brother?

The slightly pain on her forehead had sucessfully woken her up. It turned out that the young man in front of her was her big brother (?)

Jing Yi blinked twice. It couldn't be help. She didn't remember after all...

"Let's come in!", without waiting for her consent, the young man took her hand and pulled her back into the room. As both of them finally inside, he slowly, almost without any sound, closed the door behind them.

He pulled her and walked toward the bed.

"Does it still hurt?", he said as he helped her to sit. After that, he opened his cloak before he sat beside her.

[What's hurt?]

Jing Yi decided to keep her mouth shut. As she couldn't let anybody else know that she was a transmigrated soul that didn't have any memories, she thought that the less she opened her mouth it would be safer.

Didn't hear her respond, the young man frowned.

"Is it so painful to the point you can't speak? Should we secretly sneaking a doctor here to check you?", he inquired worriedly.

[Call a doctor?]

Jing Yi thought that it would be good. At least she could find out what really happened to this girl's body. And also, she really need to drink medicine in order to completely recover.

Before she able to nod, the young man said angrily,

"Jiang Chen Lu is surely very heartless. Is he really our father? If not because I was saved by uncle Ding years ago, I should have died without a corpse in that hunting ground."

[Jiang Chen Lu…]

It turned out that was her father's name. Correction. Supposed to be her father.

Jing Yi found that the young man sitting beside her was chatty. He nagged for a long time without a slightest bit of feeling tired.

"He even confined nurse Ning inside her house and place two guards in front of your gate, to prevent anybody to enter. Without her delivering you food and water, you'll die in a week. Or worst three days."

As if agreeing with his remark just now, Jing Yi's overly hungry stomach rumbling once again. This time so much louder that even she felt very embarrased until her face turned very red like boiled prawn.

Hearing that very hard almost thunderous rumble from her stomach, the young man seemed suddenly remember something important.

"Oh right! I forgot that you haven't eaten yet. You must be hungry… No wonder you can't speak. You hungry so much till you don't have any energy left to open your mouth…", he said, slapping his forehead.

Jing Yi rolled her eyes inwardly. Being handsome, it was good. But being stupid? Nah!

She looked at the young man as he took out a brownish bundle. Faintly she could smell a delicious and fragrant aroma emitted from it.

The young man's white and slender fingers opened the bundle. A sight of a brown and crispy roasted chicken made her already bulging eyes became more bulging, like they would jumped out from its sockets. She automatically held her terribly and pitiful hungry stomach as her drool was almost spilling out from her mouth.

"Just eat if you are hungry. I'll bring you more if it isn't enough…", the young man chuckled as he placed the bundle of roasted chicken on top of Jing Yi's lap.

Next moments, Jing Yi had already devoured the roasted chicken, leaving only the bones. The young man took the bundle along with the bones, wrap it up again, and put it back into his sleeve.

Jing Yi looked at his action in confusion. Feeling her gaze, he casually said, "They will hit you again if they found out. That perverted Qian Fei Yan had injured you like this. You won't be able to hold it if they really hit you with rods."

[Qian Fei Yan?]

Young master Yan. So, this wound on her head and chest was caused by him? But why?

Jing Yi pondered again. Today she already got quite a lot informations. All thanks to this chatty big brother of her.

"Yi'er please be asure! I, Lin Feng Yu, will try my hardest to protect you from now on. I will stay and won't leave ever again. That's my promise to our deceased mother."
