When we reached the company, there was a gate blocking our path. It opened when the car got closer to it and Father drove in. We had to drive down a narrow path that opened up at the end.
The first thing Su Lin saw was a huge fountain that was in front of a big mansion. Instead of a company, the building looked like a rich persons house.
Su Lin turned and looked at his Father curiously, wondering why they were here instead of the company. Father Su, catching his inquiring gaze, chuckled.
"Lin'er, this is the main building. It houses the core units of our business. The company itself is split into multiple buildings situated all over the city."
Su Lin nodded his head to express his understanding, but frowned when he thought of another point.
"Father," Su Lin said, trying to get a blush to appear on his face, "What exactly is our family's business?" He asked.
Father Su laughed, "I'm not surprised that you don't know considering how long you've been cooped up in your room."
Su Lin blushed and waited for his Fathers answer.
"The Su Family business is mostly specialized in the clothing and technological equipment fields." Father Su answered.
Su Lin eyes lit up in excitement. Clothing and anything technological were his two favorite methods of making money in his previous life.
'System, did you do this for me?' Su Lin asked in happiness.
"No Host, this was all at random." System said in a quick and monotone voice.
That didn't dampen Su Lin's mood.
Pulling up in front of the house, Father Su and Su Lin got out of the car and walked into the building. A man dressed in a black suit was at the door to greet and usher them in.
Su Lin was impressed when he saw the décor of the interior of the house. Right as soon you walk in, there's a big grand staircase that lead to the upper levels of the house. The floor had gray wooden floorboards and the house was painted light gray on three sides and red on one side. It gave it a sleek, modern feel in the atmosphere combined with white couches around a modern looking fireplace. The living room had a huge window that overlooked the forest next to the house.
Su Lin nodded his head in satisfaction. He liked modern looking houses and the feel it brought the him.
"Come," Father Su beckoned Su Lin to follow him upstairs. They both walked up the marble staircase and down the hall to a glass paned double door. Father Su opened the door and what met them was a big office that had a shiny black desk in front of a window. It had an adjacent room that was like a small sitting room.
Father sat in the seat behind the desk while Su Lin pulled up a chair to sit in front of him.
"Lin'er, I'm going to give you a small test to see where your talents lie." Father Su said. He then pulled out a drawer in his desk and pulled out a stack of thick packets.
"Father," Su Lin said smiling while twitching his left eye, "Are these some documents that you have to sign?"
"Of course not, this is the test." Father Su said smiling innocently.
Su Lin sighed and looked at the small test that his Father gave him helplessly. He picked up the stack of papers, headed off to a couch on the other side of the office and plopped his butt down.
He flipped through the papers and read the questions, which, if he may add, was printed in tiny print.
Five hours later, yes, FIVE HOURS LATER, Su Lin dumped the pack of papers on his Fathers desk and walked back to couch to take a nap. That test nearly killed him.
When he woke up again, Su Lin saw his Father still sitting at his desk working on his computer.
When Father Su noticed that his son was awake, he smiled and got up from his desk. He walked over to the boy and pulled him up to hug him.
"Good job Lin'er on getting 100% on the test." Father Su told Su Lin gleefully. Su Lin tried to lightly push him off but it was to no avail, "That means that you can run the whole company rather than just one part of it." He continued.
"What do you mean Father," Su Lin asked confused. Why wouldn't he be able to own the who company?
"Well, your mother owns the clothing side of the business while I own the technological part of it.
We can't give you the whole company if you're only proficient in one aspect of the business." Father Su said.
"I see," Su Lin said understanding the situation, "What about Su Shu?" He probed.
"That boy has too much ambition. It will drive him into a ditch one day," Father Su said in discontent, "Don't get too close to him, he has been awfully close to the Li Family kids." He warned
"The Li Family? What's wrong with them?" Su Lin asked curiously.
"All the big business Families know that the Li Family has some part in the underground business.
They have caused many corporations to fall through. They are bad news so stay away from them. I guess it's time for me to teach Su Shu some lessons," Father Su said with a dark face.
"Yes father." Su Lin replied.
"Good, you can go back home now. You will follow me to work everyday from now on," Father Su said as he walked back to his computer.
"Yes father," Su Lin said in reluctance. Working is not his favorite thing to do but at least it's in his favorite fields of study.
"Wait, how will I get back?" Su Lin asked just remembering that he got here in his father's car.
"Just use my car, I have many more in the garage that I can use to get back." Father Su said. He reached into his pockets and pulled out the car keys, throwing it to Su Lin who caught it.
Su Lin waved his father bye and left the building. He got into the car and drove back home. When he reached the house, he hurried his way to his room and closed his door.
Before he could jump on the bed to relax his tired brain, his phone buzzed in his pockets. Su Lin took it out and saw that he had two messages. One was from Ye Ren and the other was from an unknown number. He decided to open Ye Ren's message first.
Ye Ren: Darling, I'm on my way to pick you up.
That was all it said. Su Lin wondered whether he should just ignore him if he actually comes and act like no one was home.
Shaking his head, he opened up the unknown number message and what popped up was a picture.
It wasn't just any picture. Su Lin could make out himself and another person, but it was what they were doing that was surprising.
He was kissing somebody who was obviously a man. The other man's face was blurry so you couldn't make it out. Confused, Su Lin looked at the image some more and finally remembered where it could have come from.
It was when Ye Ren kissed him while he was feeding him that chocolate candy. It seems like someone snapped a picture of them, but Su Lin wasn't surprised since they kissed in such a crowded room.
Su Lin went back to Ye Ren's message and replied.
Su Lin: Hurry the hell up.
Su Lin got up and headed back down stairs to wait fro him fuming in anger. 'It's all that bastards fault,' He thought.
