XP Progress - 2.142 / 5.000
'My stats have been improved by a lot...' Looking at the tremendous change, Jack's breathing couldn't help but hasten. He could also feel his strength has been increased by a large amount.
'Just the first level gave me this much, then what about the higher levels?' Jack is really starting to anticipate his future prospects now. His mind immediately went full power thinking of efficient ways to gain more XP points.
'The most obvious one is to kill off all those insects in the basement.' As he thought of that, his line of sight moved towards the water bucket.
'It is a bit inefficient' He shook his head.
'Oh! I almost forgot! What about the shop?' His mind ventured into the 'shop' tab. There he saw images of many, many different types of item. In fact, just using the word 'many' couldn't even properly describe the situation, maybe he should use 'infinitely many' instead. There were literally all kinds of stuff: artifacts, weapons, potions, titles...blablabla...name it and you get it. Every image has a frame, and each of those frame has a set color matching the item's rarity. For example, the 'lowest grade' items a.k.a the ungraded items have a frame color of white while the items of next rarity, the one star items each have light green frame.
Jack looked at his current savings, 500 coins, and he looked at the items' price tags.
*Gulp* "Looks like having 500 coins in this shop is like fanning yourself with a chicken feather." After scanning through some items, Jack has found that most of the ungraded items cost less 800 coins and even the one star items could cost up to millions... As for items of even higher grades.....*cough cough*
A few more rounds of inspection later, Jack then 'clicked' the search option. The search option is extremely convenient, it doesn't require one to state a specific name to get the results. All you need to do is just envision the item you want, and the system will provide the option to buy the exact same item in your mind, along with other items with similar properties.
Knowing that already, Jack envisioned something which could kill off insects effortlessly without causing any harm to himself and is also easy to use.
*Ding* Search completed!
In Jack's mind appeared a spray bottle. On it were clear labels saying 'One Spray Dominates All', and below the words were images of insects of different species with a red cross over them. When he looked closely at it, he could clearly feel the bottle emitting a form of suppressive aura towards all directions.
"Hmm, this should work?" Jack mumbled as he look over to the price tag.
'Strange...this thing couldn't be bought with coins?' He looked at price: 349 Flawless Amethyst
*Ding* Amethyst is the currency for seven star items, this system recommends that host buys something befitting of the host's status and don't dream too much.
Jack's mouth twitched when he heard the system's remarks. Just when he was about to reply, the system's voice resounded in his mind again.
*Ding* This system suggest the host to buy the diluted(x12) version of the spray.
As soon as the voice ended, Jack saw the spray bottle in his mind flickered for a bit. There seems to be no changes, but he could feel that something is different, he couldn't feel the mighty aura from before. It was like comparing a king and a soldier, had they been dressed up in the same way, one could still feel the difference between them.
This new insecticide is a lot cheaper, costing 480 coins per unit.
"System, are you should this will work?" Jack asked. The contents of the spray bottle seemed to have gone through a great deal of dilution, he wasn't sure if this is enough to kill off all the insects in the basement, especially after considering the room size. It's going to be a pain in the ass if his 480 coins are wasted simply.
*Ding* If the host is indecisive, then the host should enter the simulation. The simulation is a free ground where the host has the ability to do anything to test out the product.
'Simulation? Free ground?' Jack looked around the shop screen and only after a while did he found a 'simulation' button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
'So there was such a thing?' Jack facepalmed, he totally missed it. Did the system purposely hid it at a corner? Was is such a good prank?
*Ding* The simulation button has always been located at the same spot, this system would advise the host with a short saying 'You can think whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want'.
"..."
"But I was only thinking about it?"
"..."
"..."
*Beep* This system is suddenly feeling tired and is going to sleep.
With the system ignoring him, Jack shook his head and smiled wryly. Afterwards, he went into simulation mode.
*Whoooosh* He felt like the vision in his mind became warped and twisted, like drowning in water, he quickly blacked out.
Soon, he woke up. He opened his eyes and found out that he currently floating in space. Darkness is the only thing in all directions, all except for the spray bottle he was holding in his hand.
'Is this simulation mode?...' Right now, Jack feels like he is the master of the universe, with a single thought he could achieve anything he wants.
He thought about the world he was in before he entered simulation mode, and so the world appeared. Grasslands, mountains, rivers, the sky and the sea, they all came to be. Above at the skies, he looked down and saw his little cottage by the riverside as well as forestry spanning from its surrounding towards somewhere far, far away. He advanced in a particular direction, but he found that the surroundings were getting blurred, like mosaic covering a painting, it seems like the further he moved away from the cottage, the stronger the blur gets. At one point, he couldn't even see anything anymore, which forced him to turn back.
*Sigh* 'It seems like I can't cheat the system.' The parts he could see clearly are the paths he had been before in real life. The blurred parts are those places he had never went to before. Thinking about this, he stopped thinking about the world. Instead, he thought about a room filled with insects, or at least just normal insects.
*PstPst* *KaKaKa* All kinds of insects were immediately summoned into the room, making all kinds of noises. Jack imagined himself being enclosed in a glass container, one with free space for him to move about. He looked at the insects all around him, then he created a small hole on the glass container with its size just enough for the spray head to fit in.
*Putt* Jack inserted the spray head into the hole and clicked the trigger.
*Pff* The spray was triggered once. Some liquid burst out and almost instantly turned into gas form.
As the gas pervaded throughout the entire room, the spray started to take effect.
*Brrr* Almost all of the insects started to vibrate violently. What happened next was truly gross, all the insects exploded and mists of haemolymph were formed everywhere along with the splatter of their organs.
'Ugh! Fortunately I closed up myself...Well but wow, this insecticide is really effective huh?' Jack nodded his head in approval.
Moments later, Jack got tired of observing insects exploding. He came to a conclusion that this insecticide is definitely more than enough to clean up the basement, yeap, definitely.
'Alright, time to get out.'
'Wait.'
'How do I do that?' *Cough* *Cough*... Jack became silent for a second, then he started to look closely at the corners of his vision. His gaze slowly moving about, until he sees a extremely tiny, translucent 'Out' button. *Hmm...* Jack gave a show of smug before focusing on the button.
*Whooosh*
Jack is now back to the real life. Not wanting to waste more time, he went straight to the shop and bought one unit of the insecticide. Now, he is left with just 20 coins...
