Along the way, she has two majestic assistants to guide her, Yue and Hun that had come from an even more ancient time period. No longer the well-behaved empress like before, Empress Hui Lan seeks to find justice in this messy palace and end the mission forced in her hands. Beneath the surface, an underground power seeks to pull her down like how they had driven Empress Hui Lin to the pit of fire. However, if her enemies kept secretly hidden in the dark, then she would build an entire empire of hers to bring them down.

The subtle change in his consort’s temperament had not escaped his incisive eyes. Young master Hei didn't speak any more words and swiftly turned around to leave.

"Ah? Wait for me!" Hui Lan even had the heart to tease the other figure and she also didn't stay around any longer. As she hurried over to the young master in black midnight robes, two pairs of eyes were watching her in disbelief.

As Hui Lan walked out from the prison cell, the bottom of her boots were all covered with Lady Ming Mei's blood from investigating Lady Ming Mei's body.

The blood on her boots wasn't anything much, but for a split second of time, the blood had slightly shone a golden colour before returning back into its normal blood colour.
