Along the way, she has two majestic assistants to guide her, Yue and Hun that had come from an even more ancient time period. No longer the well-behaved empress like before, Empress Hui Lan seeks to find justice in this messy palace and end the mission forced in her hands. Beneath the surface, an underground power seeks to pull her down like how they had driven Empress Hui Lin to the pit of fire. However, if her enemies kept secretly hidden in the dark, then she would build an entire empire of hers to bring them down.

Hui Lan slept through three whole days.

From time to time, she would be awakened whenever a young maid came in to wipe her face and neck. As for food, she simply ate whatever was given to her, but she was asleep for the most part.

On the third night, she could no longer tolerate the stiffness all over her body and immediately searched for a shower when it was time for the young maid to come in.

There was a shower room built in one of the corners of her room, so she merely asked for some clothes from the young maid and asked her to leave.

The young maid was reluctant to leave Hui Lan alone at first, but because she insisted, the young maid couldn't do anything about it.

After the maid was gone, Hui Lan was once again alone in the room.

The sky outside was already a deep orange colour.

…Sigh, how she wished to go outside again.

She pulled herself together and headed straight for a shower.
