Dragon’s Scale (VII)

A rush of cold wind from the north to the south started carrying the ashes and smoke outside of Sha Yin's Royal Palace. Soon enough, the entire kingdom was covered in dark smoke.

Hui Lan stared at the same empty spot where the mysterious figure had been.

Behind her, the Tai Yang followers were helping one another to get back on their feet. The battle was tougher than the first.

"Miss…" Xiao Mai finally called Hui Lan after watching her stand still like that for a period of time.

"Hm?" Hui Lan quickly woke up from her own thoughts.

"There was an ambush at the front gate where everyone else tried to escape. However, the emperors and the royal guards heard the news and were able to arrive on the scene in time." Xiao Mao reported the events that happened while Hui Lan was fighting.

"Then, that's good enough." When the emperors were mentioned, she didn't show any particular emotions in her tone.
