The Other Twin

Chapter 4: Edited

If the other girls saw Kyle now, they would probably die from his charisma. He was infamous for his cool and blank expression.

Adding a smile to that expression made it seem like the world was about to come to an end!

[Yes. A war between women would undoubtedly lead to the end of the world.]

As she grabbed the doorknob, someone inside pulled the door open, making her stumble forward and defenselessly crash towards the person in front of her.

Since she could detect killing intent by a distance, especially with someone at close proximity, she need not be on guard for she was assured that the person in front and at the back of her had none.

More like, she just wanted to save as much energy as possible and fall asleep on her desk.

[Only God knew how she managed to stay pretty despite the lack of sleep.]

At the same time, the young man in front of her caught her and greedily embraced her delicate upper body in his arms as tight as he could, feeling up her entirety and making Kyle hide back his cell phone into the deepest parts of his pockets while intently glaring at the young man embracing her.

However, the young man did not bother with Kyle's intense glare and treated him as air. He only cared for the girl. So, he greeted her with a bright smile.

"Morning, Li!" A young man of the same age popped up into her field of vision as she looked upwards.

He was another handsome gentleman who looked very much like Kyle, except for his black shoulder-length layered hairstyle and his face that was bare of glasses.

Why did they look so alike, you say? Simply speaking, they were twins.

Yes, twins, who, in fact, had nothing in common, except for their looks and brains.

By brains, it meant that he was the second-highest overall achiever of the batch. Why was he only the second? Because he found it tiring to become the personal maid or helper of all the teachers, tiring to become the next successor of the family business, tiring to fight with his elder brother over the position, and, most of all, tiring to not be himself:

A free individual who had other visions for the future.

Needless to say, the other unreachable and otherworldly being, on par with Kyle, was none other than Kevin, his own blood-related younger brother by one minute.

If Kyle was the cool and aloof gentleman, indifferent like the dead of the night, then Kevin was the amiable and cute gentleman that was as bright as the sun, showering others with light wherever he went.

People rarely saw the two of them together, which was a good thing. If they kept seeing those two together, the world would be coated with nosebleeds, bringing deaths by endangering womankind and, as an effect, endangering the whole of humanity, itself.

Yet now, they were both surrounding her.

Why oh why were they bothering her? She didn't want to have a battle royale with all those women. She wanted to sleep! Sleep!

Since Kevin was in front of her, she subconsciously scanned his clothes.

One of Kevin's differences with Kyle was that he didn't fancy wearing formal clothes. Instead today, he wore a Chanel plain pink t-shirt and Gucci light brown knee-length shorts, paired with white Air Jordan sneakers.

The simple-yet-stunning-look was his kind of style. Many girls who saw him had never made it back to reality and drifted off to wonderland.

*Flashback*

Even their styles of wearing their uniforms were different.

Kevin did not want to feel confined as much as possible.

He wanted to feel free and open!

Thus, Kevin styled his uniform according to his liking, such as unbuttoning his white polo shirt several times, loosening his dark blue necktie, unbuttoning his blazer jacket, wearing a silver chain necklace, and lastly, folding his sleeves up a couple of times until it reached his elbows.

He was a fashionable individual who believed that clothes made up the person. For him, he would certainly go as far as to say that clothes were a form of art that told a story. Not just one story, but many.

Some teachers commented about his 'unique' style, including the guards by the gate. Whether they reprimanded or complimented him, he did not care.

He gave them all the same answer with a bright smile, "I'm just being me. No harm done."

[Yes. Violating the dress code = no harm done.]

Since Kevin answered politely with a smile as bright as the sun, the teachers and staff could not bring themselves to punish or yell at him.

[Oh, how great it is to be rich.]

Of course, Kyle was no exception. He dressed so neatly and orderly, without a speck of dirt.

If Kevin was too little, then Kyle was too much.

One could see how his collar was too highly buttoned up and his necktie firmly tightened onto his neck that it made others feel choked themselves.

Maintaining that kind of image was, no doubt, utterly tiring.

When the teachers, including the guards and other employees, saw this, they began persuading him to loosen up once in a while.

[This, my friends, was reverse psychology.] The voice earnestly taught.

Kyle's answer always remained the same, "Hm? What's wrong with the way I dress? Aren't I following the dress code?"

When they tried reasoning with him, Kyle answered back, "I'm not breaking any rules, aren't I?" With that one answer, they had no choice but to shut their mouths. They were at a loss answering Kyle's logical and reasonable question.

They witnessed first-hand how geniuses were so eccentric.

As eccentric geniuses who imposed their will like kings upon others, it was only natural that changing even the way they dress was like hell mode in a game.

Instead of arguing with them in circles, the adults lost all hope and gave up.

Moreover, little by little, the adults started becoming influenced by their way of thinking. Indeed, there was no harm done. Why were they so against them in the first place?

Without realizing it, the adults soon forgot about their own logic and accepted the twins' logic like it was theirs ever since the beginning.

[Oh, how great it is to be rich.]

*Flashback ends.*

After admiring how expensive those clothes and shoes in front of her could be and how she could barely afford even a tenth of each of their prices, she was about to greet back, "Morning," when she remembered what Kevin said which turned her mood downwards again by 180 degrees.

"Li?" Veins in her forehead began to faintly pop up one after the other.

Only God could tell why she, with her absolute poker face, was always poked in the face by these twins.

However, as if he never saw it to begin with, Kevin received her glare with a bright and lovely smile and admired the beauty standing in front of him like a treasure, because it just made her all the more endearing as always.

That beauty was none other than his beloved sweetheart, Scarlet.

Mentally saying her full name, he thought back to the past three years and remembered how he first met her, ending up with the nickname "Li."
