One Among Them

Looking at the reaction of his women, Davis frowned. He turned his head to stare at Isabella, prompting her to answer.

"Yes, Clara's doing good. There's no need to worry."

Isabella turned her head away as she aligned her hair over her face as though adjusting it.

Davis wasn't amused. He could feel the strange air in the atmosphere. However, turning to look at the expressions of others and averting gazes, he finally stopped on Evelynn.

That woman's gaze was as calm as a lake, not averting her gaze nor showing a hint of emotion.

He couldn't help but smile, knowing that this first wife of his was determined to save him even if it meant losing everything after finding where he was, but before which, she prioritized the lives of her sisters over anything else.
