"Have at you!!" Cornelia charged at her opponent once more. This time, she was going to impale that sinner her noble might!
WHISH! The silver lance cut through the air like a bullet! It was headed straight into the target's vitals!
Hmph, can you dodge it this time? With this noble momentum I have!? I dare you!
Unlike the previous attack, Cornelia delivered this thrust from peak speed. There was simply no way this commoner would be able to sidestep it!
And indeed, the man did not sidestep it. Nonetheless, the attack missed his vitals.
"Wha-!?" Cornelia exclaimed. "You coward...!"
Instead of sidestepping, Hitter rolled away! The nerve of this peasant!
"Come here and receive your punishment like a man!" Cornelia drove right past her target again. To make things worse, she had to travel quite a distance due to inertia.
Truly, it was unfortunate this noble steed could ever come to a halt. It was like driving a speeding car without any brakes.
On paper, Cornelia liked the idea of charging nonstop. However, it felt terrible when her attacks missed and she needed to do a course correction.
This time. Cornelia asserted. This time, I shall impale you for sure!
This was likely Corenlia's last chance to get anything done before Noble Steed expired. Therefore, she concentrated her everything on this one final attack!
"I suggest you skip Hitter and focus on his minions," Fiona said. "They are already at death's door, so you can finish them off with another sweep."
"Hrm, that does sound doable, yes." Cornelia nodded. "However, I must reject that suggestion! My top priority is Hitter! I must smite him down!"
"Listen, you will have a much better chance of winning this fight if you eliminate his minions first."
"Hmph. At that point, he will simply retreat," Cornelia argued. "This is not the outcome I'm looking for."
"Yes, he will retreat and you will get to push the lane. Is that not a great outcome?"
"It is nice indeed, but a noble should not be satisfied with that," Cornelia asserted. "It is essential to thoroughly rip this man to shreds and teach him his place, once and for all!"
Clearly, it was too late to present any further arguments. Cornelia was already locked on her target. SWISH! She drove forward while thrusting her lance!
This time, Hitter made no attempt to dodge. Without Dodge Roll, he must have deemed it futile.
Ohoho! Did my noble might faze you? Cornelia grinned as she successfully delivered her strike. Accept your punishment, heretic!
The lance pierced through the man's chest. Combined with the momentum of the horse's dash, the attack looked beyond fatal! In real life, an assault like this would have impaled the Viking like barbeque.
Alas, the game didn't replicate such realism. Cornelia's lance simply went through the target, then she continued riding onward. It was rather anticlimactic but it served its purpose as punishment.
To make it even more disappointing, Cornelia was hit in the process. Hitter unleashed Throw Axe, sticking his barbarin weapon right into Cornelia's noble face!
"Agh, the nerve of this peasant...!" Cornelia ranted under her breath. Hmph, it seems he hasn't learned his lesson yet. This calls for another round of punishment!
Alas, the noble steed expired shortly after Cornelia struck her target. Furthermore, the horse carried her deep into her side of the lane as if worried about her safety, so now Cornelia found herself a fair distance away from her target. What a shame.
However, that didn't remain the case for long. Though Cornelia had no means of quickly closing the distance to her opponent, the Viking did possess such a tool and decided to use it right away. BLINK!
Gotcha, lol! Roi used Axe Blitz and appeared right in front of Lady. C'mon, let's continue where we left!
He activated Unstoppable Raid, calling on a bunch of savage pirates to his aid. Now, Roi and the bois were about to wreak some serious havoc!
This development caught the enemy completely off-guard. The poor girl failed to respond to it, lol.
"W-Wha!?" Cornelia exclaimed. "Y-You damn rebel...!"
A gang of filthy scoundrels appeared before Cornelia, blocking the path to her tower. She wasn't even thinking about retreating until now, but suddenly the enemy removed the option entirely from the table!
"Cornelia, I hope you do not plan to engage in further combat here," Fiona said. "You must run past them and return to the tower."
"Are you telling me to surrender against these intruders!?" Cornelia gritted her teeth. Despite her bravado, she was fully aware she messed up. This wasn't the kind of position she expected to find herself in.
The worst part was that Cornelia didn't have any tools in her arsenal to deal with this sudden development. She had already exhausted her Shield Bash and Noble Steed, so the only skill left at her disposal was Honorable Duel, a taunt.
All of them are already focused on me, so what good will it do to taunt them further? Cornelia gritted her teeth as she circled around the enemy mob. Without any defensive tools, she was forced to endure an onslaught of attacks.
WHISH! WHAM! BAM! The scoundrels assaulted her without holding back. They slashed her with unrefined blades, hacked with rusty axes, and struck with cracked maces. Each of these primitive attacks tainted Cornelia's noble body. It was absolutely disgusting.
So, considering these circumstances, there was definitely no point in aggroing the minions any further. They were already 101% focused on Cornelia at this point, so further taunting was unnecessary.
However, Fiona disagreed. "Use your taunt. It will buff your defense."
"Oh, right, the buff! I-I mean, of course I knew that!" Cornelia proclaimed. "A noble such as myself would never forget that Honorable Duel buffs defense, ohoho!"
"Then please use it."
"Without further ado!" Cornelia cast the taunt skill, making her Knight provoke the enemy gang.
"Let us fight honorably!" the Knight shouted so, but clearly, there wasn't going to be a shred of honor in this fight. These filthy barbarians were ganging up on Cornelia! Cowards!
What about my own minions? Cornelia glanced behind her. Hmph, what a useless lot.
Since Cornelia and Hitter both used mobility skills, they left all the minions in the dust. The entire pack was still in the middle of chasing the players, too far away to help Cornelia in any meaningful way.
It appears that retreat is the only option. Cornelia bit her lip. Ugh, so shameful!
From such a strong opening, the situation was reduced to such an inelegant mess. How did Cornelia let it happen!?
Nonetheless, on the von Galen name, I swear this: you will not get any kills here! Cornelia rolled forward, dodging all the barbarian attacks in the process.
Her tower wasn't that far away and she still had over 70% HP, so there was no reason to worry. At least, not unless something VERY unexpected were to happen.
Alright, I'm almost there! A couple more steps and Cornelia will safely reach her tower area. This is just a tactical retreat, mind you. In the next wave, I'll strike you twice as hard! She promised as much while she set foot in the safe zone.
However, just as she was about to fully retreat to her territory, two arms wrapped around her from behind!
"Wha-!?" One moment, Cornelia was about to enter her tower area. Then, the very next second, she was flying high in the air!
"W-Where did he come from-!?" Cornelia's brain, as noble as it was, failed to process this absurd development. How could this be!?
The one who launched her high into the air was none other than Average, the enemy Ninja! But, how could he be here!? He should've been all the way down in Bot Jungle!
However, it turned out to be a ploy. Evidently, Average wasn't in Bot like the ward suggested.
Now, thanks to this surprise attack, Cornelia found herself spinning high in the air along with Average. And, once they reached the peak, it was time to go down! It was like a rollercoaster, except it wasn't designed for the customer's fun.
To make matters worse, the Ninja had some control regarding the landing spot. He couldn't move too far from the starting point, but he could offset it a little.
So, what did the sneaky peasant do with this feature? Of course, he dragged Cornelia away from her tower area! The nerve of this plebian…!
BAM! Cornelia crashed into the ground. Not only was her Knight dazed by the strong impact, but she was also a bit far from the tower again.
"Agh, such insolence…!" Cornelia retaliated verbally because it was the only thing she could do in this situation. "How dare you!? You deserve to be hanged for this, all of you!"
But, the scoundrels didn't care for the noble's wrath. They ganged up on the defenseless Cornelia and ripped her to shreds.
WHISH! STAB! WHAM! BAM! This wasn't a fight, it was an execution.
『You have been killed!』
