Seating at the office chair, a petite young woman was fighting the urge to sleep as she kept on scanning the paper works on her hand.
She yawned whilst leaning on the chair, clearly annoyed by the paper works that kept on giving birth to other papers and piling up on her table.
Emily Kingston, 23, the first granddaughter of Kingston Group's president. Graduated from a prestigious university, gain a respectable honor of summa cum laude, and start her carrier as the CEO of the Kingston Group under the training of the chairman himself to replace his position.
Her brother was supposed to be the one who will inherit their family multibillion worth corporation, but unexpected things happened, which leads her to inherited the total of 56% of his shares at the corp and take the burden of his responsibility.
She who has lived her life living like a spoiled kid now has to face the cruelty of the world and must be showing no sign of weakness.
Three knocks broke the silent minutes she enjoys, silently groaning on the sudden interruption, "Come in."
"You're being careless, what if I was an assassin sent by our enemy?"
Emily scoffed at her friend's comment, "Who would knock the door to kill someone?"
Allan Camille chuckle, running his hand through his short hair and shook his head, "But even so, you have to be careful of your back."
"Do not worry, I watch my front and both of my sides too," She retorts, nonchalantly scanning the files on her hands, "You never know there will be some betrayals from your close ones. They came when you least expect it."
"You're reading too much online Chinese novels, Em."
Emily scoffs, "It's not like you haven't experienced it, Al."
Allan was stupefied, and went silent as he bitterly smiled, "That was mean, you triggered my bad memories."
"I was just reminding you."
Emily raised her head to look at Allan's handsome face with her raised eyebrow and asked,
"What the hell are you doing here?"
The man put his hands on his chest, pointing at himself as he gasps dramatically, "Am I not wanted here?"
Emily raised her eyebrow, showing him a 'duh' face while carry on to read the papers on her hand. Ignoring the certain raven head.
"And you're ignoring me..? Why are you being so mean? Is this the so-called friendship of ours since we're still in diapers? It only ends here?" He starts rambling, but the opposite side still hadn't shown interest to interact with him.
This guy is still childishly annoying.
Emily raised her head while massaging her temple, a pile of papers still need her reviews and a monkey showed up suddenly on her office, what a day.
She has been working non-stop that she wishes she could go back to her school life, the day where her brother is still alive. Where she didn't have to worry about the company's financial income and outcome, where she didn't have to worry about letting down her grandparents expectations.
Ah, yes, speaking of this brother of hers.
it's his six years death anniversary already, isn't it?
She could throw this paperwork away to Allan. Although this monkey is hurting her ears, at least he's functional. But before she could say something, Allan made his move to show her a mysterious object that he took from his bag.
"I'm here to give you this."
She slowly inspects the object on her hand, "A.. diary?"
"Your brother's, to be exact."
"Him... really?"
"I know right, he's already old and yet he still writes this cliche thing." Allan waves the book in front of her, then throw it to the table. "How childish."
"Where.....?"
"Found it hidden on his room. I must give that guy my respect, he hid it really well." Allan shrug, "But Em... Even during those six years, you haven't found it?"
"...."
Even if she tries to find reasons, Allan knew best, that she doesn't want to go inside her beloved deceased brother's room for she will only grief further.
Emily inspects the object on her hand carefully, like it was a fragile diamond that was hard to replace. Seeing her sad face, Allan groaned.
"I was giving you this to calm you down but instead I got this pitiful scenery... Maybe I shouldn't have given it to you."
"You dare?" Emily glared.
The young man smiled sheepishly, "It's too early for me to die!"
"Good that you know." she shrugs.
Look at her, ah.
It's been a long time ever since we last met and she has already changed much.
Allan Camille can only cry in the corner of her office room by this treatment.
