Game Design

Michael decided to skip his classes for today. In reality, American Colleges did not require attendance. Michael had already read the textbooks for his course and could pass the exams with flying colors.

When Michael got home, he decided to work on his first game. In reality, Michael did not have any knowledge about creating games. He started to browse the internet and read tutorials. After a couple of hours, Michael's face turned ugly; it seems that he underestimated the difficulty of creating a modern day game.

The popular AAA games required large teams that included experts of different professions. Although Michael had high intelligence, he did not feel like learning a dozen different professions just to make a game. With no other options, Michael turned to his Magical system hoping that it would have a solution for him. He found his solution in the General Goods store.

[ Advanced Game Engine ( 30,000,000 credits): A sophisticated game engine that allows the User to build the best games in the Market. Provides the necessary features to build games quickly and efficiently. The games can be built for any current platforms.

Remaining Credits: 2,530,000 ]

Michael winced as the 30 million credits disappeared from his balance. It was not smart to buy software for 30 million dollars without trying it out first; however, Michael had confidence in the goods provided by the system. Even the skills at basic tier gave him an advantage that no other human had.

The game engine was explained as a comprehensive software that would essentially provide everything he needed to build games. The software came installed on a workstation that was complimentary. The computer even had upgraded security making it a very secure platform to build games on.

Michael spent a couple of hours going through the tutorials to learn about the game engine. Even though Michael had never used a game engine before, he could tell that this software was heavenly. Every time he got stuck with something there was a help button that offered reliable solutions. The software was seamless and was built for newbie developers.

The first game idea Michael had was an open world game centered on drugs. The war on drugs in the US had brought a lot of attention to dealers and cartels around the world. The entertainment industry did not fall behind and produced TV shows and movies with plots centered on the war. Michael wondered why no company had tried to build a game based on the Drug conflicts. Either way, he did not want to miss out on the action; after all, everybody was either using drugs or talking about them.

Michael started forming a rough plan on what he wanted to include in the game. The game would essentially be an open world with a map based on South America. The players could choose to train in different professions like growers and chemists. Players have the option to band together and form cartels. Since there was a limited amount of shipping routes, different cartels would have to fight over them. There would be a plethora of in-game real estate ranging from farm plots to Chemical plants.

Strategic airports that gave access to different parts of the world would need to be conquered and protected. Furthermore, the authorities would also have to be bribed. Perhaps the best part would be that the game was meant for mobile devices. There was no way the current technology would allow such a large scale game to be supported on Mobile devices. However, Michael knew that with the ridiculous game engine provided by the system, he could do the impossible.

The game would essentially be a sandbox; Michael intended to just build the world and let the players decided how to play it. He had been inspired by a game called Eve Online; the game basically built the basic world and let players do anything they wanted. Unfortunately, the game could not be built overnight, even with Michael's high intelligence. After all, he only had two hands. He ended up planning to develop the game over the next two months.

Michael was about to go to bed when his phone rang; he checked the caller ID and noticed that it was Jennifer.

" Hello, sorry to call you so late. But you never mentioned what the company name would be. You have to be careful when choosing the name of the Company. There are experts who specialize in company Brands and can help us. Do you want me to find someone?" Jennifer asked. Since she was starting the company from scratch, she would take the opportunity to make everything perfect.

" No, the parent company's name will be Empyreal Holdings. You can hire a Brand Expert for logo design and other stuff; However, we will use the name I suggested." Michael declared. After all, what was the point of starting a business if someone else picked the name for you?

"Okay, I think we should attend some job fairs to start hiring some employees. Furthermore, we need to find an office to rent." Jennifer explained. The first batch of employees was very important and would form the core of the company. It was better to promote from inside the company so these initial employees represented the future of the company.

Michael agreed and decided to attend some job fairs. He would also need to hire his first batch of Traders and analysts. These employees would be nurtured by him and developed into exemplary traders. Michael sighed, establishing a business was so much work. He felt like he would no longer have any free time left.
