Chapter 1: The Boy and the Stone

Aeneas Polaris the firstborn of Polaris family was seen often regarded as a perfect child. He was intelligent from a young age and despite his occasional mischief he was a well-mannered and good matured individual. His father was Rigal Polaris, a former knight commander in the Algol Province of the Imperial Celeritas Empire. During his time in the service he met a beautiful young mage by the name of Saiph Alcor who also served in his division. After the war ended, the couple retired to the countryside hoping to live in peace for the rest of their lives. A year later, in the small village of Brucia, Aeneas was born.

Eight years later, Aeneas was seen running through a meadow. Panting heavily he attempted to hide his small frame in a thicket of grass almost as tall as he was. He giggled slightly as he peered out of the bush.

"OYY! Come out here you little rascal" shouted his Rigal as he scanned the meadow. Rigal pretended not to see the his son as he continued to 'search.' However, in reality his superior senses as a former knight commander allowed him to immediately detect his son.

"Come out, Come out, Wherever you are!" Rigal shouted. Aeneas let out a slight smile thinking he had fooled his father in this game of hide and seek when suddenly Rigal disappeared from his frame of vision. Aeneas was shocked, where did his father suddenly disappear to?

"Gotcha" whispered his Rigal from behind. Aeneas let out a small shriek and then started laughing again.

"Why can't I ever beat you at this game father?" Aeneas asked innocently. Rigal chuckled, "It will be a long time before you're able to hide from my senses" he replied whilst grinning. "Now run along, I have to chop some more firewood for today's dinner."

"Yes father" replied Aeneas. He then took of with a wide smile. After a few steps he turned back and asked "Can I got to the play by the stream? "Sure, but don't go to far, and come back before the sun comes down you hear!?" Rigal replied. Aeneas nodded in reply and continued on his way. The meadow that he was on was rather large and on the outskirts lay a small meandering stream. Aeneas made his way towards the stream. Taking small steps and making sure that he didn't lose his footing on the loose soil and rock. Aeneas took a small handful of water and gulped it down. The cool refreshing taste quenched his thirst. Aeneas then looked down the stream and noticed a small glitter of gold downstream. "Gold?" Aeneas whispered, his eyes widening.

Throughout his upbringing, Aeneas lived a rather frugal lifestyle and so the sight of something of great monetary value excited him. His momentary excitement led him to walk a tad bit faster then caution would have allowed and he lost his footing. Aeneas fell into the stream but luckily the water was not deep and he was able to stand. Aeneas then quickly got out of the water but by now he was soaking wet. "Mother is going to be mad at me" he thought to himself sadly. He then looked up again searching for the gold but it had disappeared.

"Where did it go?" Aeneas wondered. He then trotted to where he saw the flash of gold last and looked around once more when another flash of gold was caught by his eye. This time however, it was not in the stream but in the woody underbrush on the other side of the stream. Aeneas was confused but he decided to follow the golden light. He waded through the stream and made his way over the underbrush when suddenly the light disappeared once more only to reappear even deeper in the woodland. "You're not getting away from me this time" Aeneas exclaimed silently as he chased after that golden shimmer. In pursuit he failed to realize that he had inadvertently disobeyed his father's instructions and wandered too far from the home.

...

"Hmm, how interesting, this little brat can see the Light of Horus with his naked eye, his soul is exceptionally powerful for his age" the mysterious being thought to itself. "Let's run a check"

The mysterious being spread its divine sense over the boy as it investigated him. Aeneas felt a chill and looked over his shoulder. "He can even detect my divine sense scan!? How is this possible?" thought the mysterious being.

He observed the results of his investigation

Gender: Male

Age: 8 years

Constitution: Human - Mortal

Bloodlines: None

Cultivation Talent: Mediocre

Soul: Exceptional Grade

"Exceptional Grade Soul from birth!" The mysterious being gasped. Normally souls of mortal started off as poor quality and through the cultivation of the soul and the gaining of experience would the soul become more powerful and slowly increase in quality. To be born with a soul of Exceptional Quality was unheard of, it simply defied logic.

"It has been ten thousand years, and I have found over 300 potential candidates but in the end they all failed to become the Star of Origin. Let's give him a try"

...

"Hah gotcha!" Shouted Aeneas as he finally caught to the light and leaped towards it to grasp it as he was afraid that it would get away again. His hands closed around a small rock the size of a golf ball. Aeneas quickly unclasped his hands to see his prize and was disappointed to see that it was in fact not a piece of gold. However, upon closer inspection the golden light that the stone radiated was definitely extraordinary. "What is this thing?" Aeneas wondered before pocketing the stone. He then looked up to the sky which was streaked with orange. "Oh no it's almost sundown, I better get back" he exclaimed as he dashed back towards his home.
