Building Bridges 2.

I glance in the direction of the young man I was here to save. He was spotting multiple gashes on his arm, legs and torso plus it was evident that he was injured internally due to the use of various innate power elements. Adding that they even employed the use of poison he was already in a very bad shape and was evidently still standing by sheer will. His hair was disheveled and I couldn't get a good look at his features but anyway, am already here so I can't retreat now.

The surrounding trees have practically been leveled from their fight. I know there are a lot of forests here but they should be taught the importance of planting trees you know.

"Hahahaha" The middle aged group leader laughed. "I see you are looking to die, then I will not hesitate to grant your wish." He sneered. His anger meter must be high by now. Hmmmm I think so.

"Hey wait, how about we do this, how much would it cost for you to set both him and I free? I can pay you." I asked changing my expression to look solemn. I at the least have to give him some face his an elder you know, moreover seeing as I am currently on a journey, it's a bit of a hassle for my outfit to get stained.

He looked at me like I was an idiot but sifted his lips in scorn. "Your life is already mine so what do you think you're bargaining with?"

Now am mad! My life is his? Since when?

I smiled with a cold glint flashing in my eyes. The frostiness am emitting right now lowering the surrounding temperature by a few degrees. "Stay back!" I commanded. That was for Kita and the guards who were still in hiding. Well for this I just need to strike at the shepherd and the sheep will scatter.

I put up a repelling barrier around myself with spiritual energy.

Predominantly innate power was employed in a fight or duel by applying the elements the user possessed which was either water, fire, earth, wind or metal. When cultivating, the use of these elements were what the cultivators focused on improving in each level of cultivation. Most individual were born with one element so if one had more than one they were named prodigies.

I for one didn't have innate power so my master's training was based on pure martial arts skills, use of formations and manipulation of spiritual energy in its purest form not converted to an element. Which is unheard of in the earth realm.

Hearing the command I issued, the leader's countenance changed as he hadn't been able to deduce that there were others in hiding and what this generally meant was that their innate talent level was higher than his. He ordered his men to attack me but before he could finish the statement I was already in front of him. Gathering spiritual energy in my palms, I struck him directly at the chest then at his lower dantian.

The first move sealed off his meridians while the second dissipated the stored spiritual energy in his lower dantian and sealed it as well.

He stared at me in shock with the words he was about to say stuck in his mouth.

Normally, before a person strikes, his innate talent level will be displayed around his body as he conjures up formations using his element then he strikes. But I didn't display any innate talent color at all and struck with such speed so it is natural that they would all be frightened out of their wits.

While the others were still trying to process what just happened, I had stepped out of their range and their leader spluttering blood from his mouth fell to the ground due to the backlash of my hit.

Although I didn't cut his meridian making him unable to cultivate, Forcefully dissipating the spiritual energy in his dantian had already dropped his cultivated innate talent back to the first level and he would need to unseal his dantian to start cultivating again which to the best of my knowledge can only be done by the one who sealed it.

It goes without saying then that it would never be unsealed without my consent. See am very generous.

"Uncle" I said mockingly, "Your life belongs to me now, but I have always been a benevolent person and have no need for it so you just need to get me something of equal value with your life then I can reverse the effect. But for now I will be leaving with my friend over there." I turned in the direction of the man I originally came to save who is now watching me with awe written over his face.

Yea, am that good. You don't need to stare am just good.

Noticing my gaze had landed on him, he comported himself changing to an aloof expression. Despite the fact he was clearly almost on his last breath, he still had this elegant aura around him with his back straight and a confident look on his face. That's really impressive I mused.

I turned back to look at the fallen leader as if inquiring from his personage if it was okay to leave with the man. His accomplices who were still trying to process what just happened didn't know if they should attack me or not.

"Uncle" I inquired amusingly. "Am I not still allowed? We could continue but am afraid there won't be a need to meet me later after my next move."

He shook his head frantically as he held his curled body on the ground which was obviously in agonizing pain.

"Good." I replied then walked towards the man to aid him but he stepped back while raising his hand to adjust the disheveled hair which was initially covering his face.

"This one thanks benefactor for saving my life but there is no need to trouble yourself any further. I hope to repay your kindness if we meet in the future." He voiced out looking pensively at me.

I raised my head which was previously scrutinizing his body to his face. Hmmm another eye candy. About to turn away, I paused. This is a face I know quite well.

I removed an elixir I had on me and tossed it to him. "It would be better you drink that and follow me if you want to live past today Prince Dong Qing Feng of Dong Fang country.

On hearing me his face paled.

I turned walking out of the forest. "Bring him back."

I shifted my sight to the top of a tree at my left where I was sure someone had been watching the whole scenario to see a shadow of black garments and silver hair fleet past. Well I guess the drama is over for whoever it is.
